Mike couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and obliging. He set up a demo' of 2 sets of speakers (and electronics as closely matched to my own as possible) with just 3 days notice and went out of his way to accommodate me. Best of all was the listening room I was in was also chosen to most closely resemble my own and was properly set-up, without overt use of room treatments (judged unnecessary for my demo') and with a decent electricity supply allowing all units to be plugged direct to wall. He took great pains - with laser measure - to get the speakers same distance from frontwall/sidewalls, with identical toe-in and happily facilitated use of my demo tracks for the session. It was the first time I properly and accurately heard what I would most closely expect to hear back home. Previously, elsewhere, sound has been damped and 'muffled', resulting in buying choices which turned out too bright in my room. (Now, I only buy after a home demo.) As a result, I can be fairly confident that the pair I decide to home demo' should not hold any nasty surprises.

On top of that, the rest of Mike's people were equally knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, all having time to listen and chat; the important listening sofa was super-comfortable (not soggy!) and the coffee top notch. They are super well-informed and there's no sales bs.

Criterion are a real cut above and I've been to a few.. I just wish they were a bit closer; then again, perhaps it's as well they're not!

I am hugely impressed by Criterion Audio’s customer focus and quality of service.

I wanted to purchase over a period of time a number of components to create a high end streaming stereo system to replace the mid-fi set-up I have had for a long while. Criterion happily demoed almost endless combinations of streamers, DACs, amps and speakers in my efforts to find the “perfect” sound. They also let me try many combinations at home, which is particularly helpful to judge how the kit will perform in the acoustics of my listening room.

I really appreciated proprietor Mike’s willingness over numerous occasions to discuss my likes and dislikes and the nuances of different combinations of equipment; and I learnt a lot from him.

I am now the very happy owner of a pair of Sonus Faber Olympica Nova II floorstanders, which I love, and am in the process of deciding on a streamer/ amp.

I cannot recommend Criterion too highly!

Due to COVID, l was unable to achieve listening comparisons, but as I knew roughly what I wanted, l was offered demo units to audition which I subsequently bought. No hard sell, easy to communicate with and reliable. My thanks to Mike and James (sorry Bill you were furloughed !) for an easy, enjoyable experience.

A great selection of mid to high end HiFi audio equipment near Cambridge which I discovered by chance whilst looking to upgrade my speakers. They set up a speaker demonstration for me and could not have been more helpful. The listening environment was friendly and comfortable and well set up.
