We went on the 7 day Venice to Mantua…

We went on the 7 day Venice to Mantua Cordero’s cruise. It was fantastic. We are a multigenerational group with grandparents in there 70s with one in a wheelchair post stroke. And we also have two kids aged 5 and 2yo.

Pros
- friendly personalsied service. We had a lot of special needs given the kids and the wheelchair and the crew accommodated everything and were so warm and attentive. Kevin the cruise director is such a star and so is everyone else. Just amazing service.
- amazing food. So much better than the ocean cruises we’ve been on. All meals are presented beautifully and made with quality and care
- lots of complimentary wines and alcoholic options if you’re into that. Relatively good quality wines although we are not big drinkers
- lots of food, you won’t go hungry that’s for sure
- all crew spoke English and were very good to translate everything! I was a bit worried about this after some reviews say it’s very French. But we had no trouble. Most of the boat was French but we felt very welcomed and accommodated

Cons
- some more non alcoholic options like simple mocktails would be good.
- food is the same set meals for everyone but the chef will accommodate kids meals. All the food is amazing and usually 3-4 courses
- mostly elderly people on our boat. We are the only ones below 50. Most are above 60yo. No other kids other than ours. No kids play areas but we didn’t expect there to be any. The kids were made to feel welcome though
- only one indoor common area when not at mealtime. If there’s a performance or music there, then not many other options to sit. Although there are outdoor areas if you don’t mind that
- a few ports that are in the middle of nowhere (random ship yards) where you must get a transfer out with their bus. There are lots of shore excursions and if you don’t want to go with them, there are some complimentary transfers (in one place we paid half price to take the bus into town to do your own thing). Due to the needs of the wheelchair we mostly did our own thing and found it easy to coordinate
- some of the route of this trip goes through some very small back canals of the po that are not very scenic. But Venice is gorgeous and lake mantua not too bad either.

Overall, an amazing experience. Will definitely go with croisieurope again for another trip.

Indochine Cruise on the Mekong

We had an amazing cruise on the Indochine starting in Saigon through the Mekong Delta into Cambodia, visiting villages and cities, and meeting beautiful people and learning about their cultures. The trips were so well organised, and Sam, Oudan and the team could not have been any better, they were amazing! Quan our Vietbamese guide was brilliant we were very lucky. Food was excellent and variety of drinks. The boat was lovely with lots of little luxuries. Can't recommend enough!!

Would not recommend to English speakers

Just back off a not to great experience , new year in Seville. To be fair the crew were great , the food terrific but the organisation a bit of a shambles.
1) if is a cruise we though Seville to Cadiz to Seville to Cordoba with new year is Seville. It isn’t ! , it consists 3 nights in Seville and a trip to Cadiz and back mainly in darkness hours. Cordoba is a coach and a very expensive tour which was not advertised in advance.
2) the highlight tour of the 2 big attractions in Seville was substituted for something inferior. They simply did not buy the tickets on time.
3) new year in Seville was actually new year in Cadiz
4) the tours we did go on, on most we had Spanish , English guide doing dual language. For the 4 hour round coach trip to Cordoba, the guide did not speak English and at a sherry tour the guide refused to do a dual language tour and despite great English only did Spanish.
5) whilst we understood we were a minority on board, 3 of us are not that bad a French , we could have easily got by with a French tour , we understood little Spanish
6) the French on board did not appear welcoming, pushing past me at reception and down right rude

If you do still want to go, speaking French would be good and then don’t let then put you with Spanish.

Do not upgrade your cabin, we did it is pointless on the trip lasting 10 hours to Cadiz and back mainly at night

Disappointing experience

I spent a week on the Rhône Princess in August. It was worse than a three star hotel. I’ve cruised with Croisieurope before so I expected dated and cramped accommodation and variable food but this was dismal. I cruised with friends, some of them complained of foul smells in the bathroom. My toilet was stained, there was no hand soap available in any of the cabins. The crew were ill and many of the guests became ill with what turned out to be flu (I tested positive for this when I got home and was very unwell). Several of the crew were replaced during the week by completely inexperienced crew who had no idea what they were doing. Presumably because the original crew were too unwell to work. There was no information given to passengers about the infection at all. The food was of variable quality, the main problem being the length of time it took to be served especially in the evening. It often took over 3 hours to get the whole dining room served. The staff seemed to all be either unwell or new. Some were pleasant and helpful as I’ve previously found with Croisieurope but some just ignored passengers when they spoke to them and carried on chatting to colleagues or tutted and rolled their eyes when asked for something. The area was lovely and the excursions were excellent but the onboard experience was awful. I know it is a budget line and I have had enjoyable cruises with them before but I would think twice about booking with Croisieurope.

First class cruise in Venice! Thank you xx

Just returned from 5 day cruise in Venice. Amazing!! Staff were so friendly, approachable, welcoming & extremely helpful. Room was comfortably and clean. Food was outstanding, 1st class. In fact some guests went to an expensive restaurant and they said the food was better on the ship! The team were thoughtful & sat us withEnglish speaking guests however we had fun with the French guests during the evening entertainment.Ideal to stay on ship to see Venice as it is short walk to St Marks square.Trips are great. Very supportive to fellow guests when unexpectedly, Heathrow airport shut. Staff do their very best to please and you can see they enjoy each others company.

Special thanks to all the team especially Kevin, Lucy, Marfilda, chefs and the tall barman/ waiter with glasses .
The trip couldn’t have been any better.
We had the best time xx

Ps Venice is stunning!

The miandering Seine cruise on 1…

The miandering Seine cruise on 10th October 2024 was disappointing. Having paid full price for a double room, my husband and I were allocated a single disabled shabby small room with bed being against the wall. Most difficult for us in our late eighties.
Ships manageress was most indifferent about the situation and said there was nothing she could do!!?? We found if it very uncomfortable and difficult , with very little sleep. The only saving grace was the very good food and pleasant staff.

Really disappointing

I returned from a river cruise on the Po from Mantua to Venice in September. We were due to have five hours in Mantua, Padua and Verona but in fact had less than three hours in each, no time to relax and explore once the guided tours were over and no explanation given
I paid quite a large amount for the excursions, but found that other guests had the price included in their cruise cost.
The cabin was small, which is to be expected on a river cruise, but there were no tea or coffee making facilities and the decoration was bland 1979s beige.
I emailed and complained upon my return, four weeks ago now, and to date have been ignored, which I am really angry about.
On the plus side, the food on board was great and all the crew, bar one, were helpful and friendly.

Complain

Hello, I want to make a complaint about Diana Iordache and Nicu, in July I had a stay on the ship Victor Hugo, and I talked with employees of this ship, and unfortunately I was offended and humiliated by Diana Iordache and Nicu, the accommodation was rather poor, small shower, small bed, the service was done in a hurry, the drinks at the bar had no taste, to find out that Diana Iordache and Nicu actually had sex on the ship and behaved very badly with their colleagues from the ship I believe Croisi Europe is a company with high standards but due to unqualified staff customers do not want to board Victor Hugo and immediate action should be taken regarding Diana iordache and Nicu. A good day!

We booked a CroiseEurope river cruise…

We booked a CroiseEurope river cruise on the Douro in August, and on arrival, we found the cabin to be tiny, the shower was so small you couldn't actually wash your legs. The food was a set menu, and we were never given side plates for a roll, no fork with deserts, and the dining room was on the lower deck, and had very poor to non existent views, and the air conditioning was very poor, so was unbearable, as was the air con in the cabin. On this experience, we would never book with them again, and after complaining, we were offered £150 towards another trip, NO THANK YOU.

Credit card information was leaked

So my mother has booked a vacation with this company. She was asked to print out an authorization form and fill in her credit card information. She has done this and sent it over email. The amount that she had authorised was indeed deducted. However, 2 days later, another authorization was made for a subscription to a random company that she had never even heard of.

Since she has never shared her credit card information elsewhere, we know that the leak happened with this company.

Just returned from Douro river cruise.

Just returned from Douro river cruise.

Taxi transfer from airport to ship all smooth.

Welcomed on board Enfante Henrique quickly and easily by Mike and his staff, 10 July 2023.

Cabins are small, but have all you need. Small shower room, aircon, safe and you can get free, filtered water at any time. Coffee and teas, also included.

Food - sit down service with fellow guests at one time setting each day. Would have liked table for two, but luckily we got table for six and other two couples were great. Quality of food was really good.

Excursions - ours were included and seemed value for money. Naively, some guests didn't realise to leave the ship at riverside to do excursions, means a coach or car trip up out of the valley and back. Valleys have stunning views.

Our guide, Lourdes, got criticism, but we found her very good, especially as having to speak 3 - 4 languages to translate all. We suspect we were the only guests to thank her by buying her a bottle of rose wine.

Ship facilities - sun deck, which has part cover and plenty of sun beds etc, but ship not full.

Lounge/bar area - great for relaxing and seeing a few shows by locals brought on board. Also great for entering and exiting the locks -which are specular.

Drinks - ours was included for most, with choice of nice wines, ports and spirits. I only paid for one drink in a week.

Staff -very attentive and helpful.

Would we go again? Yes.

Appalling customer service…

We are so disappointed with their customer service. We booked a Red Sea cruise with them we made our way to sharm el sheikh and boarded the boat. We were told the next day that the cruise was cancelled due to the air traffic controllers strike in Paris and inability to get most of the passengers to the boat. None of this their fault of course. We were advised to go home and book a flight home. All our expenses incurred would be refunded. We of course incurred expense in booking new flight home and after we sent our expense in Croisieurope offer to refund the cruise costs but all other expenses we incurred would be given a credit note for use with them in the future. Even though we paid for repatriation insurance with them.
