In some ways, this is quite a simple pencil case, but it's amazingly versatile. It's made from tough, but beautifully soft and tactile silicone rubber, with a high quality zipper to close it. Pull the zipper most of the way open, to a point where a couple of little lugs on the case make it naturally stop, and you can easily hold the case in one hand, and dip in for the pens or pencils you need, making it quick and easy to access on the go. A little extra pull, though, opens the zip the rest of the way, which then lets the whole case open out completely flat on your desk, with just a lip around the edge, like a handy pen tray. All your pens and pencils are now laid out and ready to use. And with a quick zip they're all safely away for carrying again. This larger ('medium') case is suitable for a few pens and pencils - twenty reasonably normal pens or pencils will fit, fewer if you use thicker pens. The result is a case that's still reasonably compact, and should slip away neatly in most bags, and even fit in some large pockets. Dimensions approximately 160 x 70 x 45 mm.
