Excellent nib
Not given it a lot of use but so far it has performed as expected and with no obvious limitations. Would buy again.
This is a great all round nib recommended for beginners. Medium stiffness. with a good distinction between thick and thin lines. Arrived in good order and great to be able to buy single dip pen nibs from Cult Pens.
Amazingly flexible nib. I've mostly used "Brause" nibs thus far, and they are excellent, but, oh, my, ,,Nikko G" is simply another universe! Flexible, yet, consistent and firm in the sense that it's pretty forgiving in the hands of utter novice such as myself. This nib has really excellent range of line variation: from the thinnest Japanese Extra-Extra Fine, with no pressure at all, to approximately Double Broad lines, with reasonable pressure, and even broader with a lot of pressure. It's sturdy, built of quality material, so it can endure a lot of abuse, from a delicate, sophisticated, meditating calligrapher with such inclinations. What amazed me, it holds a decent amount of ink in one dipping. With thin lines one can go on, and on... it seems like forever, although, in that regard, the type of ink is a significant factor, as well.. And what totally blew me away, although there is no comparison between these and fountain pen nibs - which are tipped (the former is a bare steel plate), it doesn't feel overly scratchy, not scratchy at all, if I may say it, even on a cheap photocopy paper (in which case there will be inevitable feathering and bleeding). In my subjective opinion, and tactile sensation, it's a pretty smooth writer, for a calligraphy/drawing nib, that is. Which is a feat of it's own when it comes to dip pen nibs. About the nib preparation: I only used 70% ethyl alcohol (common pharmacy stuff, some call it a "rubbing alcohol", I presume) and a tissue paper, and it worked perfectly right away. Now, straight to expressing warm approval and the ultimate pleasure of dealing with good people of the "Cult Pens": the Customer Service, the packaging, the speed of delivery, the state of items delivered were fantastic. All recommendations!
Ideal for my ink drawings.
Smooth even for curves and holds a lot of ink.
Fantastic nib for calligraphy and half the price of other places. thanks Cult Pens.
