Currys - Chelmsford Reviews 

When I applied for interest free payment for £280 I was declined by creation twice. My credit score on all agencies is near the top and never had any trouble getting credit has I have a good income and money in the bank. When I contacted creation I was told they couldn't tell me why I was refused. So now curry's lost a sale as I could have bought it outright with cash. I believe curry's should look into this to avoid losing customers. I will not buy anything from curry's again.

I was looked after by a young lady called Caitlin, she was polite, knowledgeable & happy to answer any question and find the best option for me.

Although I had done my homework online before visiting the store there were numerous questions I needed to ask to meet my specific criteria. After explaining my requirements he then proceeded to show me what was available within my budget explaining the different qualities of each television demonstrating how to use various functions..the clarity of sound...the picture etc.The assistant was extremely patient. I didn't feel rushed at any time or pressurised. I came away with a positive experience plus a television I'm delighted with. Top marks and well done. We spoke to someone when leaving the store who passed on our positive feedback.

I bought a laptop and I knew what I wanted.

The sales guy was very young not very well knowledgeable about laptops.

He was very polite but not much in the way of personality or any conversation/small talk.

He didn’t tell me it doesn’t come with a charger which I would have thought he would encourage a sale of accessories.

He was too young to be working there he looked completely out of his depth.

The other sales agent looked disinterested and would only really engage with women wearing hijabs.

I probably would stick to online purchasing from now on.

Website was simple and easy to navigate. Found all the info I needed and was able to compare models easily. Price was around the same as other online providers.
I’ve bought from Curry’s before and always had great service, so it’s not a hard choice to go with them again.
Lots of options for delivery, we chose next day, the delivery team were prompt, professional and friendly.
Very happy with the whole experience.

Ordered a TV for my daughter the one I ordered was a smart TV with freelyl. Quick and easy online purchase and was kept informed about when I could collect from store that day. Job done by lunchtime and the young man in the store carried it to my car a put it on the back seat for me.

I went into the Chelmer Village store on Monday, looking to buy a laptop in the £600 range.

I spent 15 minutes looking at the laptops on display. I wanted to talk about making a purchase, but only one person was covering the area. They were talking to someone else. After 15 minutes of not finding anyone else, I gave up.

Found a similar product for less money 100 yards away at Argos. Slightly better processor, same RAM and same SSD as the one in Currys. The prices would have been slightly in Currys' favour, but Argos had a £100 reduction on the laptop model and included the charger that Currys would have made me buy separately. Someone came over to offer assistance while I was comparing the specifications to what I'd seen in Currys to ask if they could help. They brought it out 5 minutes after submitting the order.

So a better machine, for less money, in less time, with staff who actually engage with customers.

They used to say "Currys - we can help". Now they don't seem to want to.

I bought an item as a display model as I desperately needed an under counter fridge with a sizeable freezer section. I paid full price as it was still current model and they wouldn't discount. Because it was not listed in stock I couldn't use top cashback or NHS discounts etc. It came with no packaging, no securing of internal shelf, compressor protection and no instructions. It's grubby and lightly dented. The glue from the labels will require white spirit or similar to remove. The staff where friendly and did help to move the item into the car though.

Easy to order online - and quickly got a message to say my order was ready for collection.

Only let down is two members of staff walked past me when I went to collect - they walked over to other colleagues and were quite happily having a chat rather than serve me.
