If I could give this review 0 I would. Contacted Curwens for conveyancing and my main contact was John Appleton. After weeks of chasing for updates on my property purchase I kept getting back the same response over and over again “we are still awaiting to hear back from the vendors solicitors”. John did not do anything to address my concerns about issues that needed to be addressed in the survey. Curwens did take £600 from me which I will be officially lodging a complaint to get this back as todate I have not received any land search results. Terrible company to do business with. I am extremely upset by the way I have been treated. This experience has left me distraught. John showed no empathy or sympathy towards my concerns. Curwens was recommended to me by Igloo Homes (who were also terrible too).

I cannot speak highly enough of Curwens — they are quite simply outstanding. I have used them on several occasions over the past few years and every single experience has been nothing short of exceptional.

The conveyancing team, led by the incredible Bradley, is absolutely first class. From start to finish, their professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail were second to none. We recently sold our house and, thanks entirely to them, the process was not only smooth and efficient but genuinely stress-free — which feels almost miraculous when it comes to conveyancing!

Communication was flawless throughout; we were kept informed at every stage, queries were dealt with instantly, and everything was progressed at an impressive pace. It felt like they were always one step ahead.

I used Curwens in 2024 to assist with my RTB application. They were so helpful, with a special thank you to Bradley Bernett who took care of the transaction. Bradley explained things that I didn't understand, was extremely quick to respond on email to my queries & I wouldn't hesitate to reach out again should we need a Solicitors again. 5* service!

AVOID AVOID AVOID - RIDICULOUSLY SLOW AND EXPENSIVE I WOULD GIVE ZERO IF POSSIBLE. Curwens are SO SLOW that you are unsure if they are actually dealing with your case. Simple shop lease took OVER 6 MONTHS to complete. Lost out on rent and had to pay business rates due to their delay. Solicitor was Unprofessional - sent me to the wrong office for a meeting. I made a formal complaint but no response - I had to chase them to respond to my complaint! Does this sound like a firm who has their client's interests at heart? THEN THEY OVERCHARGE YOU! DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. APPALLING UNPROFESSIONAL SOLICITORS.

I used Curwens following the death of my mum to transfer the house into my name. From start to finish the service provided by them was terrible. I was given false information on a couple of occasions by being told that my application was still with the Land Registry office and was delayed due to Covid and so I contacted the Land Registry regarding this and was told that on two occasions the application had been returned to Curwens as they had not replied to questions asked. I was constantly having to chase Curwens and wasn’t getting anywhere. I was devastated by the loss of my mum and yet Curwens were not interested in the least. This matter should have taken a maximum of six months, including allowing for Covid delays and yet it took two years and four months. In my opinion, the service provided by Curwens was totally unacceptable and unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend them to my worse enemy.

We were buying a property and the estate agent recommended Curwens as solicitor to make the process smoother, as they were dealing with the development already.
I would rather pay £1K more another solicitor than go back to them.
Massive lack of communication, not organized at all, we are still waiting for them to come back to us with some info but they vanished since we paid them.
The solicitor was doing merely the essential of his job, no consultation at all. Every time we made a question he was very general and never suggested something for the sake of our safety, he was just pushing for the sales to happen.

I engaged Curwens as conveyancer for a property sale. Throughout the prolonged period I found them to be unprofessional and suffered from a complete lack of communication, which required me to constantly chase them to have an sort of progress made. I won't use them abain and in all honesty couldn't recommend them to others.
