I was gifted an afternoon tea by a friend which was a nice surprise and much appreciated. It was well presented and all looked very nice. However, having now had the tea, I wouldn’t buy it again mysel... See more

Cake didn't arrive in time, over 24 hours late, and somehow I wasn't eligible for any kind of refund. Despite the fact no one ever actually received the cake as we had left the hotel by the time it eventually arrived.
I ordered the Chocolate Fudge Cake and the Taster Cake for my partner’s birthday.
They were stunning cakes. Delicious and absolutely value for money.
But most impressive was their customer service, specifically Miche. The DPD delivery driver dumped the package outside of the gates to our flat (no effort was made to deliver it to the front door, no phone call etc.) and unfortunately it was stolen.
I contacted Cutter and Squidge who had arranged a new delivery within a few hours, and thankfully it arrived in time for my partner’s birthday. Moreover, escalated the issue with DPD.
Very grateful and impressed. Will be buying again!
We ordered some brownies as a gift and there was an issue with delivery, where it said the brownies were delivered when they actually weren’t. Miche from the cutter and squidge team was so amazing with getting it sorted. She put through another order straight away and then went above and beyond to change the address so we could still get our order in time. Thank you so much <3
DREADFUL ONLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE RESCUED BY MANAGEMENT I cannot comment on the quality of the brownies I ordered as due to DPD tracking showing a photo of a courier delivering it incorrectly to a garden path instead of a front door, the recipient (it was a bereavement and I thought brownies would be better than flowers) did not find it for a week and they were all mouldy. Yes, it was a courier issue, but on telling Cutter and Squidge about the issue and advising them to remind the couriers that these were perishable goods, I was told that the courier had delivered them to the front door and they they showed an image which was totally irrelevant (I had the correct tracking pic) and the tone of the letter was to the effect that both me and the recipient were lying. What for I don’t know- a mouldy mini box of brownies? I hadn’t actually asked for a refund, and I wasn’t offered the opportunity to get a new box sent out. On escalating it I was offered an apology and refund. A little late for purpose but appreciated nevertheless.
What a beautiful way to say ‘thank you’, in my case…. To a person in a company who showed excellent customer service.
Therefore I chose to send her and her team…… brownies (points?).
It doesn’t break the bank.
It was delivered on time.
Their day was significantly enhanced.
Thank you c&s 😊
They never delivered my order. No reply to my emails and text
I have to say, I loved cutter and squidge about 7 years ago. Their biskies were and are still great. Their cakes are just sugar. Now, they are not great at all.
I have ordered a few things from them for delivery and every time there has been an issue. I ordered 2 items for the Chinese new year, they took my money and sent me 2 arts of biskies and no cookie box. When I called, they told me they had run out of the cookie box so they just doubled the order of biskies. Not good.
Next order, I ended up with 12 biskies being delivered twice to my home over 2 weeks.
I won a celebration box during their fortune cookie prize give away. Avoiding to their website any changes to the delivery date need to be emailed so I asked via email for the delivery date to be changed. They have not bothered to respond to the email which was sent nearly 2 weeks ago and therefore hasn't been actioned.
Their customer service is awful and the person on the other end of the phone didn't seem to care when I told her this.
Very expensive product for what you could buy at a Tesco there’s nothing fresh and special about the flavours.
Their customer service is by far the worst I’ve ever come across. Ordered a substantial order for Eid celebration party - the order didn’t arrive and in fact was delivered elsewhere. They use dpd so I contacted dpd - dpd said it was cutter and squidges responsibility. Contacted cutter and squidge. Didn’t get a response FOR TEN DAYS. Eid was well over. And the response? “We aren’t responsible for deliveries the customer is”. THE CUSTOMER?!?!?! No refund no realt acceptance of their substandard service. Don’t use if you want good value for money. Don’t use if you want to be treated with respect. Don’t use if you have a time sensitive event. Not worth it.
Terrible service. Whomever answered the phone made it clear my delivery refusal by a hospital maternity unit was not their problem‼️ There was nothing that jumped out while filling in the delivery address that WARNED they don’t deliver there. No refund no return and no sympathy. I will not be using this company again as their attitude sucks!
Was sent the chocolate fudge cake as a gift from my friend in Malaysia for my birthday. So greatful to my friend for her kindness but so saddened by how much she paid for something i could have picked up from asda etc for probably under £10. My friend paid £30.99 excluding postage. Honestly i wouldn't waste your money. Nothing special. Your basically paying for the packagjng. Wish i could share pictures of the cake to prevent anyone else from buying this over priced rubbish
This is the worst hamper I have ever ordered, it was sent as a gift for my elderly dads birthday, and it was really embarrassing to find out that the cheese and the white chocolate scones were bland and stodgy, claggy with no flavour and ended up in the bin. All the biscuits, and pesto pastries were smashed to pieces. I was offered a replacement but my parents said they couldn't stomach it. Stick to the Cornish company or Debon hampers where you get real quality, not style over substance
Late delivery (after I had paid extra for express delivery on a specific date!). I emailed to ask for a refund on the delivery charge and they didn’t give it to me. What a simple thing that could’ve made up for the late delivery, but no…
Cake was delivered completely smashed. Cake costs £77.99 and delivery cost £17.99. When I called them, they wouldn't help on the phone and asked me to email the photo of the smashed cake which I have done, now awaiting a response. Order ID: CS1089197
Cake was ordered for my partner's birthday for a party we have.
Yet another terrible review for Cutter and Squidge - they clearly are not having a good time. I placed an order with Cutter & Squidge on 20 May for a Raspberry and Elderflower cake with a Lemon sponge, with delivery confirmed for 30 May, in time for my sister’s 30th birthday celebration on 31 May. I chose this cake specifically to make the occasion special. Raspberry and Lemon are her favourite.
The order was accepted, payment taken, and I had every reason to believe the product would be delivered as agreed. However, at 2:10 PM on 29 May, less than 24 hours before delivery, I was informed the cake was “unavailable.” This last-minute notice left me with no time to make meaningful alternative arrangements. I was offered a handful of vague substitute cakes (none of which matched the original in flavour, style, or purpose), or a refund. Despite my immediate response and repeated requests for alternatives, my order was cancelled unilaterally and without my consent.
This behaviour breaches their own Terms & Conditions:
Clause 5.5 states customers may not cancel after 12pm the day before delivery, but they did exactly that to me.
Clause 5.8 allows for substitution if an item is unavailable, not outright cancellation. The clause also implies a substitute must be suitable. None was offered that remotely resembled the original.
They describe their cakes as “custom and perishable” to deny cancellation rights, yet when asked about a tailored version, they said they don’t offer custom cakes. This is a clear contradiction and suggests selective policy enforcement.
Their actions also raise serious concerns under UK consumer law:
Under Section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. Cancelling with under 24 hours' notice for an agreed delivery is clearly not reasonable.
The same Act requires terms to be fair. Their own policy forbids late cancellations from customers but allows it for themselves, which is likely an unfair contract term.
Under Regulations 5 and 6 of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, failing to communicate transparently or offer adequate information may amount to a misleading omission.
In an effort to be reasonable, I even offered a compromise: delivery by Saturday morning instead of the original Friday. They refused. No replacement. No attempt to make it right. No compensation for the added cost I’d now incur replacing a personalised cake last-minute.
To make matters worse, I tried to phone their customer service line right after receiving the cancellation notice. I was told I was first in the queue, but waited 17 minutes without a response. I gave up — and frankly, I’m now grateful, as other reviewers reported being disconnected after even longer.
This experience was not just inconvenient. It was personally upsetting, professionally unacceptable, and legally questionable. Cutter & Squidge failed on every level: product reliability, service, customer care, and basic fairness.
I have shared this information with them, along with an email explaining how they could resolve the situation. Should they not respond appropriately, I will be making a formal complaint to Trading Standards.
I strongly advise others not to rely on this company for anything important or time-sensitive.
Absolutely Disgusting Vile Smell, So Tiny for a cake which was meant for a special occasion, Absolute RIP OFF So Upset, no customer service, had to Bin It 🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮 Sorry but wouldn't give it to a stray Rat 🤣🤣🤣
PLEASE AVOID, Don't waste You're money and get disappointed!!! If could upload pics and of it in the bin You'd NEVER GO NEAR CUTTER & SMIDGE 😠😠😠
Delivery | £40–50
I have just been on a waiting queue on their phone for 31 minutes. Starting as seventh in a queue. Only to find when it came to my turn being cut off. This along with the fact I have paid a delivery charge of £8.95 for a service to deliver between 8 am and 12 noon only to find that it won’t be delivered to much later. When you don’t deliver what you advertise and don’t have the decency to answer your customers queries online or by phone this is unacceptable service. I should be getting a refund for postage and I only hope the goods I’ve purchased are of a good quality.

I am trying to place an order for a very large cake!It is asking me for ridiculous question to verify that im human

Reply from Cutter and Squidge
Dear cutter and squidgy thank you for delivering the order in time however the cake seemed too small to be in a proportion of a birthday cake. The person I sent it to was so disappointed that she chucked the cake in the bin. The mice who ate it later that night must have loved the cake the size of a pastry. There is a beautiful cat that lives a few houses away, she must have had bits of cake if she had a mouse or two that night. Please stop baking cakes the size of a pastry. Thank you.

I Ordered a vegan cake for £35. I was shocked at how small it was. Total rip off.

One star off because I never got the cake! But the support was excellent! The response and customer service from Cutter and Squidge was wonderful, swift, and extremely supportive... above all, very much appreciated! I've enjoyed C&S cakes and 'at home' afternoon tea boxes for years now, so I know how lovely and solid this company is. Their customer service in response to this hiccup reminded me that mistakes happen and they will willingly, unquestioningly rectify the situation. Thanks a million!
