Bike ordered online
Ordered a bike online through the Leeds store website. It was not a good experience. Firstly the bike didn’t arrive when expected. Heard nothing from cycle surgery about the delay so had to contact them to ask why. The reason I’ve given 2 stars is because I received a quick reply from a guy called Chris who was very helpful and chased my order up. Then things went bad again. The bike arrived with the gears and brakes not set up correctly. I had to make a 40 mile round trip to the Leeds store to get them set properly. The guy in the store then tried to charge me £30 pounds for this. I had to argue in the store with them that they were only putting right what should have been done in the first place. So all in all not a great experience and I won’t be using their services again. Oh and I’m still not happy with the gears. I’m taking it to a local guy to sort out.

I Highly recommend Cycle Surgery based on my recent experience.
Great service portsolent
visited the portsolent store on the 11/6/19 ,after a previous phone call, what great service, very helpful and a fair price.
Had a gear innner and outer replaced on my full suss, thay even changed the front tyre round for nothing (tread was facing wrong way) would have given 6 stars..
Great service at Kings across shop
Went to the Kings Cross shop for advice on buying my first road bike. I’d already went to a few other bike shops but the guys here were super friendly and the guy who served me gave good transparent advice so I bought a woman’s specialized bike. Absolutely love the bike and helmet so will be back!
My 1st
My 1st. order arrived promptly and was well packed, great serviceand on the strength of this transaction, I have just placed another order
Great service, great bike !!!
Had no issues purchasing a bike through them and so far everything has turned out great. I purchased a Marin Fairfax SC2 2018 model for only £300 (discounted from £500) and although it did take some getting used to compared to my old bike of 10 years, it really has turned out be an amazing bike which I was able to get a great deal on. I had no problem at all with the customer service in their Newcastle branch, all their employees were incredibly friendly, helpful and professional. Sarah took my order when I came into the shop on a Friday and thoroughly explained the entire process to me. My bike was ready to be picked up the next Thursday. They couldn't tell me when exactly my bike would arrive, but it did arrive shortly after anyways, so ultimately no issues there. Andy set the bike up for me exactly as I requested upon collection and for the free tune-up service a few weeks later, Neil tightened up the brakes, adjusted the gears and even completely cleaned up the drive train for me (that I had apparently been using way to much bike oil on !!!). I think the majority of negative issues that other customers have experienced have been as result of significant delays in orders being delivered, but this was certainly not a problem for me. Also, their Newcastle city centre location in Northumberland Street is incredibly handy for me, as I live close into town, don't drive and most bike shops are quite aways out of the city.
Can’t fault Online experience.
Online experience most satisfactory. Had the saddle I wanted (Spesh Romin Evo) at good price with free and prompt delivery. No complaints & BA Miles were a literal bonus!
Comfortable atmosphere
Comfortable atmosphere, no pushy salespeople. I got what I wanted with minimum fuss (a "cycle to work" road bike - Whyte Dorset - for under £1000), I am happy with the bike. However, I wasn't made aware if other bikes I had read about in magazines would be available (eg Cube Axial WS Pro Disc)
Avoid Wandsworth branch - they don't deserve your custom.
Popped into the Wandsworth branch this morning for a couple of inner tubes and some CO2 cartridges. The staff were generally pretty abrupt, one member of staff made a fuss that I had left my lights on and they were hurting his eyes... he was actually annoyed with me! I wanted two innertubes but at no point did they alert me there was a 3 for 2 offer on tubes. When i said i needed CO2 the assistant didn't help, just left me to navigate the shop to find them. Generally poor service, not a smile, customers are obviously a real inconvenience. I'll go to Pearsons in Ham or Sutton any day rather than this place.
The absurdly named, 'Cycle Surgery'
'Cycle Surgery'. Is genuinely an amusing name for this shambolic place. Two weeks ago I had a problem with a valve and a flat tyre. I took my bike in they said it would be ready next day and they'd call. They didn't. I went in and they'd forgotten and hadn't done it, or called. To be fair, a nice guy did it on the spot. I waited. Two weeks later, yesterday, the same tyre instantly deflated and I walked back. the 'Surgery', apparently has one mechanic and he stops working after 4pm. Anyway, I'm told THEY CANNOT MEND A TYRE. Yes that's right, CYCLE SURGERY CANNOT MEND A TYRE. I'm also told I cant leave my bike either, as they're full and will be for three weeks. CYCLE SURGERY CANNOT MEND A TYRE FOR THREE WEEKS. Because of redevelopment in Victoria all other bike shops have closed. This is the only choice. So I buy a tyre, the embarrassed, polite but sadly useless employee who told me he only worked on the till, kindly opened the door for me and I pushed my broken bike out of the 'surgery' and into the pouring rain. I couldn't even catch a bus home because I had a bloody broken bike to push. I would have had more chance of a 'surgery' if I'd have wheeled it to A and E at Thomas's hospital.
Can someone please open another bike shop in this area?
Simply don’t buy from them after two…
Simply don’t buy from them after two experiences of pre order goods on both occasions they took the full amount but never delivered numerous broken promises delays it’s almost fraudulent how they are operating.
One star is way higher than deserved…
One star is way higher than deserved for Cycle Surgery.
I bought a bike for my daughter and troubles started.
1. I was contacted by Customer service and offered GBP 20 in vouchers as it turned out lightly damaged(scratched) and I accepted.
2. When I placed the order with the vouchers (after 22 emails and 2 phone calls!?!) I was surcharged(GBP 25.80 instead of GBP 5.90).
I contacted them to refund me the surcharged amount, but they cancelled the order and told me I had to call again and place another order. Logically I refused as I spent so much time with this vortex of nonsense.
3. When I received the bike it turned out it's missing the pedals(yes they were in the description - "BMX resin pedals" and I asked for confirmation everything else apart from the scratches is OK).
4. Cycle Surgery refused any cooperation, therefore had to resolve it trough PayPal.
I would never ever even think about buying anything from them.
I regret I didn't check their well deserved miserable reputation on Trustpilot prior placing an order.
Runners Need - Excellent Service
I needed running shoes and went into the London Store not knowing what I really wanted or needed. The sales advisor made sure he understood my needs and we settled on a pair of shoes which at the time of writing feel very good.

It's always good seeing the team in Leeds. They are genuinely interested in what I'm looking for and keen to explore options.
Happy with buying experience.
Great range of products and customer service.
Faulty Gloves
Faulty Gloves. Always had good experience in store but recently bought some Castelli gloves online which developed holes after one short ride. Returned them and received them back again with a note to say I had caused the damage, which I know I hadn't. Now out of pocket for £32 plus £4.60 postage. Unacceptable.
Definitely one to avoid
Definitely one to avoid like the plague. Shockingly bad customer service at the London Victoria shop. Was told they had space on a Friday to replace rear wheel on my Brompton. Later that afternoon I was told the wheel was not in stock but probably would be later the following week. Still no wheel the following Friday. Manager told me he couldn't be sure when because they were a big corporation. The manager also rather lamely blamed brexit!! Why not be honest from the beginning? Check if they have the stock and if not say that there's absolutely no way to tell when they will get it. It would have saved me a whole load of hassle. Apart from the unhinged manager, the mechanic just came across as nasty and chippy. The rest of the staff were weirdly passive aggressive, as if they were doing me some kind of favour. None calls back when they said they would. Simply stay away and spend your money elsewhere.
Minor
I bought a Brompton a week and a bit before I have to go on holiday to Asia. It came 3 days later than expected but I can't really complain as I was a bit over-excited and impatient when I actually ordered rather late, and it's only an expected date, which can vary because cycle shops don't over-stock as it's expensive! I feel the customer service (both on the phone, email and in store) helped speed up the logistics when I called up to enquire of the location.
Most of the accessories I ordered actually came within the expected timeframe, and it was just the bike left - and tbh it's totally understandable if the stock count on the website doesn't quite match up what's in the store, because anybody can order the (limited) stock of bike that you're ordering at the same time. When I got to the store, they were fixing another customer's bike's hydraulics system, so I had to wait a little while for them to fix on a rear rack on the Brompton, but it all came out beautifully, and there was no extra cost for installation at the time of collecting my purchase.
Of course, they could potentially mess up any time, but I think this is slated more than it's fair share here (2 stars is ridiculously low!) - which made me feel a little insecure as a customer, but I went through it fine. I called in a few times, didn't give them grief and they came through for me, by pushing it through the logistics system. I'd recommend to anyone to give it a chance - it's not that bad!
Very happy with purchase
I feel I have to review as Cycle Surgery seem to get a lot of bad reviews where my experience was good. I bought a Zipp 404 Firecrest Clincher front wheel from them at an excellent price. I paid about £440 for it if I included the cash back for purchasing through Quidco. Delivery took over a week as the wheel was located in one of their shops but they upgraded my delivery to next day. I had to chase the delivery as after reading some of the reviews I wasn’t convinced I would get the wheel but they always replyed and explained what was happening. Wheel finally delivered and I’m very happy, brand new wheel in a sealed box, I was thinking it might of been ex display. Overall a good experience.
