Daily was my first ever hosting…

Daily was my first ever hosting provider, and I was excited to have my very first domain of 2005.I also remember it being nothing but trouble, even altering their terms and conditions without informing customers.

Eventually after a few years, when I had a little more experience with hosting, I just transferred my domain to another provider and had a much better experience.

They were great back in the day

They were great back in the day, things went downhill over 2015 and onwards, then when they sold to Paragon in 2016 I cancelled the website and other services, just have the last two domain names with them expiring in a couple of weeks.

I emailed them to say that the domains are set to expire (have taken screen shots of this and other areas of the countrol panel should there be any doubt) and have no desire to transfer to yet another company - TSOhost.

I did my research on Company Check and can see how many companies the Directors have bought / sold and now that they are part of Godaddy etc.

I could never find a contact number for customer support on Daily Internet services website from 2016 onwards, only raise a ticket for support or email, however, they did respond quickly by direct email.

I cant speak for TSOhost, but it looks to be more professionally set up with a contact number etc, but won't be moving to them, and cannot personally comment on their services from experience.

I signed up with Daily years ago, because they offered reliable web site hosting and services, and excellent telephone customer support, something which I really valued and appreciated on the odd occasion I needed support.

No longer the great company they were...

They have been a great company over the past 10 years with my 500 UK domains. My renewal prices were £5 a year made possible by being able to buy domain credits (150 for around £750).
Now I've had an email saying that they will be moving to the TSO Host brand and althought you can transfer existing credits to the new umbrella, you will not be able to buy new credits after the end of May 2018.
So, in effect, instead of £5 per year, I'll now be paying around £10 a year.
Multiply that by 500 domains and you can see why I am not impressed!

They used to be a great company, now best AVOIDED IN ANY & ALL WAYS..

They used to be a great company when I first started with them, over 20 years ago.

Now - they are no longer public facing (will not conduct phone contact) and one of my packages is trying to force me to renew it for FIVE years.

I initially removed my credit card, as I found if they have that they can do whatever they wish with your money - EG: renew ANY service at ANY time or period of THEIR choosing - in this case, FIVE years.

I submitted a ticket which gave me a somewhat convoluted workaround, but I was unable to use that when my Mother was rushed into hospital.

Today, the day after their attempted FIVE YEAR renewal failure, on my arrival to the office, I find they have disabled access to all services - including the workaround for the attempted FORCED FIVE YEAR renewal.

Both services and domains are best with a company whom you can both verbally communicate with by phone of which there are many and equally importantly a company you feel you can trust.

Using their very slow ticket system, whilst claiming to offer great value and reliability, is a contradiction in terms – as currently being witnessed by my current dilemma.

Summary - AVOID:

1] Unless you want to be left ignored and hanging whilst your website and associated emails are disabled.

2] DO NOT TRUST them with your Credit Card details unless you want:
a) Forced renewals of FIVE year duration inflicted on your card.
b) No worthwhile meaningful discount benefit for that period.
c) Nobody to quickly sort out any problems by phone, a typical example as described above.

3] Both services and domains are clearly best with a company with whom you can verbally communicate with by phone when problems occur - of which there are many choices amongst smaller companies as alternatives – just search a little to avoid problems such as described above.

If you cannot phone any potential website company before signup, move on and find one who you can contact by phone.
You will not regret it, nor be stuck with a situation like my current one.

When you're no good with technology . . . they are there to guide you through it!

I'm not that computer savvy, so owning a website is a bit of a liability!

A friend noticed that one of the pages on my site seemed to have been hacked, and recommended I contact Daily to resolve it.

All the guys - Ross Mills, Martin Ivanov & Krasen who have worked to sort it out over the past few days have been great. Lots of e-mails, very efficiently handled, they kept me updated and have just been fantastic. They all made dealing with an unknown situation for me very stress-free, so thanks guys, as I said, a big, heart-felt thank you for all your collective help to resolve the issue. I really am very grateful to you all and am super impressed with the exceptional service I've received.

Excellent hosting and support from Daily

I have been with Daily for about 8 years and, on the few occasions I have had problems, they have responded extremely quickly and sorting out the issue. This time, I had Simeon Hristov sort out a problem within an hour. Excellent and highly recommended.

Probably best to give this supplier a miss for now

I very much agree with the previous comments. They were fine until the takeover, then our site was down for 3 days after the dataserver move was presumably bungled last September. We currently have a problem where just one of our clients suddenly can no longer send us email, just the one client. Not looking like we're going to get a resolution to be honest, 24 hours between each response that always starts with "sorry about the delay". Its a great shame I used to be quite enthusiastic about the company, but no longer sadly. If a miracle cure turns up I'll let you know.

Daily.co.uk used to be a great company …

Daily.co.uk used to be a great company however Paragon Internet have taken them over and they are now terrible.

Tried to renewal my domain online where the control panel advertised the price at £10.99+vat for a single year, paid and was issued an invoice stating renewal for domain name and the price. The website however showed an error and said something failed, but your payment was successful DO NOT REPEAT PAYMENT please contact support.

Support come back a while late and say it's too late to renew for £10.99+vat and it's now £90+vat, I decline and ask for a refund.

Daily.co.uk (T/A Paragon Internet Group Ltd) come back to me and refuse to issue a refund for the missold renewal/legal invoice which shows clearly the description and price for what I have paid yet will not refund it when they didn't renew it.

The details are now in the hands of Slough Trading Standards, unfortunately as most customers won't find this review until it's too late as they use a generic name rather than Paragon Internet to trade online.

WordPress hosting support

I recently acquired a WordPress hosting package from Daily Internet. Whilst in the process of creating my WordPress website I encountered a WordPress error saying "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 73400320 bytes exhausted...".

As an amateur, part time, WordPress developer this was outside of my previous experience and all the knowledge base articles that I was able to find on the web were too advanced for me.

I therefore raised a ticket with the Daily support desk and very quickly my problem was resolved! Even though, strictly speaking, my problem was out of the scope of the support offered by the support desk team they really pulled out the stops to help me.

In investigating my problem, I dealt with several members of the support desk team. Not once did they drop the ball. And each time their responses were helpful, professional, polite and courteous and helpful even though they had the frustration of dealing with a novice. My thanks to therefore to Simeon, Krasen and Martin for your help with this issue which was beyond the call of duty.

Excellent customer service

Whenever I've had a problem with the smooth running of my website, an email to daily.co.uk brings a near instant response and immediate attempts to sort out the problem until it's been resolved. Polite, professional and effective, they couldn't be better.

Good provider - recommended

Yes, Daily have had down times in the past but their critics are asking them to update their site and provision - what do they expect - magic?
Yes I have had a few problems with my inbox filling too quickly but I could always upgrade or change to a POP account.
I recently did this with one of my emails with the very helpful technicians at daily. I could not give technicians any higher rating; they were helpful, courteous and appreciative that I gave them feedback. Well done, team.
Stop beefing and think just how much work is necessary to be a provider. Some of you cannot even spell!
No, I am not an employee or shareholder, I am a silver surfer who appreciates others.

Bad handover to Paragon..

I've been with Daily now since about 2006 or so and up until the past few months have had no issues whatsoever. The past few months have seen email dropouts with no explanation, requests for them to update their own SSL certificates on their mail servers (it's the sort of mistake I'd expect from a junior systems admin and not a hosting provider) and their gateway being blacklisted on various spam lists.. the list goes on. I'm now in the process of moving domains etc to a new provider and the hoops I'm now having to jump through (all driven by Daily.co.uk I might add) is just unreal .. avoid them.

Stay Away From Daily Internet

Been with Daily Internet since 2008 and up until recently was fairly pleased with the service. Then they were taken over by a company called Paragon and following an atrociously managed service migration in Sep 2016 that saw customers sites down without any notice for 36 hours their service levels plummeted.

As I write this (16 Nov 2016) they have only managed (almost) 1 day of uptime on my site in the last 4 days. I am suffering a lagging site that spends much of its time unusable and their email servers are constantly being blocked by Spamhaus because of a poor reputation. I have a ticket relating to email problems that has been ongoing since the 6th of October (43 days!) and they still have not a clue how to deal with the issue.

Also my backups were non-existent for approximately a month and I was quite frankly lied to by their staff who told me they were there but I just couldn't access them - it turned out there were no backups at all. Its not like they are even particularly cheap any more, as there are other companies with better reputations and reviews that offer services at comparable fees.

I now have the prospect of moving everything to another provider at my busy time of the year, however I am so disgusted with their service that I will just be glad to be shot of this awful company. I have almost certainly lost thousands of pounds in revenue and had my company name damaged because of my poor site reliability so if you are thinking of signing up with Daily Internet or any other Paragon Company I would think again ... you can find much better.
