I have worst experience with them

I have worst experience with them, I have paid my £2.50 then they sent a letter you never paid. Sent them the reciete with matching reference for proof, then they had Marston bailiff contact me. Emailed them the prove of reciete then two weeks later I had my car towed, Filled out TE7 and TE9 then I had to pay £996 to take it out. As I waited for a refund, then once again sent me a letter saying it wasn't matching reference witch clearly shows it does on the reciete. Now I'm gonna see legal team for the refund, their mistakes and lack of care to what they put me through. Doing my research about them, they had they systems fault and had details of people payments deleted. Them Knowing this, they're putting people through destress.

If there was a minus option I would…

If there was a minus option I would chose it. Initial contact was helpful but then put through to the accounts team, utterly useless, cant apparently check "historical" data on my account (ermm from 3 months ago) and then put me through to the PCN Dept, the person there was frankly rude and quite aggressive. absolutely disgraceful service, I am shocked at how bad

Worst customer service team

Worst customer service team I've encountered. Transferred 4 times on the phone to try and get my account balance back that was closed as I hadn't used the crossing in some time. No success and emailing is a waste of time as well. I think they make the process as impossible as they can to encourage people to give up so that they can keep the funds.

Unfair auto top up

I had £8 on my account. I prob use the crossing twice a year, despite this because their greedy min is £10, my account has auto topped up another £10. Totally unjustified. If you don't have an account, you pay full whack, having an account saves you £1 on a crossing both ways, it's not worth that for them to have £18 of my money. What a scam.

Hopeless Service

Tried contacting them via email and contact form on four occasions no blooming use at all.
Money in my account all vehicles listed but no money taken after 4 days. This service provider must be given the boot such a frustrating process with no accountability.

Not fit for purpose

Dartcharge is indeed a BIG SCAM. I received letter after 4 months of crossing the Dartford crossing with a penalty fine in December 2023 as per letter I made the crossing on 19th August 2023. Contacted Dartcharge number of times via email and telephone in attempt to get some answers as it wasn't making sense. Eventually I was advised to sent the TE7 etc forms to enforcement department. Despite of these, they involved the enforcement team. Today bailiff came knocking at the door and threatened to take my possessions. It was a traumatic experience when I refused to let him take my home contents he took £425.50.
In the past, Dartcharge sent a penalty notice for another vehicle which I never owed. So you can judge their service.
I have used Dartford crossing for a long time and as a responsible citizen I have always paid the charges. If I have forgot to pay I have immediately rectified and payment was always done on given time frame. But this time I never received any warning, no letter but a final warning after pathetic four months.

Really poor service

I actually did not want to give one…

I actually did not want to give one star. I tried 3 times to call to be answered by obtruce and rude customer service operatives. They were angry and twice put the phone down. Apparently I needed to pay on line whilst driving on the trunk road not on the bridge whilst I'm driving in the dark in unknown territory.
Absolute lunacy. A review is required in to payment accessibility

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.

I used the Dartford Crossing 2 on occasions on the same day. This was on 29/11/2023. On 30/11/2023 I paid £5, which was for the 2 crossings.

On the 30/11/2023 I received a receipt from Dart Charge to confirm that I had paid.

On 20/02/2024 the Car-Hire company sent me 2 notices and informed me that they had sent my details to Dart Charge. They also charged me £35 for each PCN. They are taking £70 from my account.

Dart Charge are a disgrace. I sent them proof that I paid but they have told me to wait until I receive the PCN's.

They could cancel the PCN's now, as it was them that issued them. However, they have chosen not to do that.

They need to be investigated, as they are not fit for purpose.

DartCharge is a Big Scam!!!

I was recently asked to validate my payment card. Soon after validating, Dartcharge collected £10 pounds every 3 hours from my account. Within one day, they had taken more than £50 without authorisation. 3months on, I have not received a refund nor an explanation. Validating your account with Dartcharge is just a means for them to steal money from your account!!!!

Since they have updated there new way to pay with out an account, when asked how many crossing it tells you and ask if this correct you put know but can't change it to more, so I assumed I diddnt have as many crossing as I thought paid and still got fines, because I couldn't change from 2 crossings to 4, absolute scam about time this was not charged for crossing as we are paying f9r a service that we are kt haply with any other company would have been shut down by now total scam

Fraudulent cancellation of account without notice

Fraudulent account deactivation followed by sneaky issuance of penalty.
Had a pay-as-you-go account for years, account was linked to a valid credit card. After getting a penalty notice, logged in to the account and found that the account was set to "dormant". Of course I never was informed of that. Also found my name was changed to "Mr Anonymous Curious". Goes without saying I did not set this bogus name, and I never was informed about the changes.
Called their "helpline" trying to resolve this. Was given the runaround by various "agents". Some dropped the call, others said they are not responsible and can't do anything. Kafkaesque experience, nobody was repsonsible or even remotely helpful, but they seemed to enjoy toying with me as a cat plays with a mouse before killing it. The message was clear: yes of course we make mistakes and yes of course you pay up for our mistakes. After all, we are the authority and you are nothing - shut up and suck it up!
Sadly this has become a routine experience in the UK: abysmal service, brazen neglect, spectacular idiocy, and complete disregard for fairness.

Poor quality phone line and unhelpful staff

I am an account holder but the website wouldn't let me add a new vehicle. Phoned customer service, there was no option regarding this so went no.5 anything else, spoke to someone straight away.
She was unable to take my name, account details due to poor line quality therefore could not help me.
Phoned again, entered the account number using the phone number pad, got cut off after 6 mins.
Phoned the 3rd time and again the person couldn't understand me quoting my account number, the phone line kept dropping and was poor quality. They were unwilling to repeat back what they had heard or understood.
Raised a complaint.

Bad customer service second only to how useless the account is.

Set up an account last week as our daughter has moved to Brighton and we shall be using the crossing more often.
Travelled back from Southampton at the weekend and nothing was deducted from my account so I contacted the customer service team via email. They set up an enquiry asking for more details, sent them more details and 30 seconds later the enquiry was closed with no deductions, no other information. I had to just go online and pay the crossing fee and hope I don't get a penalty notice. The whole system and customer service is terrible.

Received multiple charges for a vehicle…

Received multiple charges for a vehicle that is not mine from October 2023. It is quite clear the vehicle does not match the registration plate - it is quite evidently an incorrect vehicle but despite them removing one charge, this was apparently incorrect and we were met with the belligerent manager and staff member this week who cannot tell what a blue car (my car registered to the plate) looks like compared to a white van (the photo). If they had common sense they would be dangerous. Good job they can just stick to a script.

Hidious Dart Charge PCN's

In the past two days, I received 14 PCN notices from Dart Charge!!!!!!!I have three cars linked to the account as my daughters and I regularly travel from Norfolk to London and back. I have to add this is an automatic top-up account and has been for many many years.

The PCN's have various dates ranging from 4th September to 27th October 2023 and all 14 of the notices I have received incur a £105 Charge. To top it, my husband has his own Dart Charge account whereby he has also received 5 PCN's too.

As you can expect I have informed Dart Charge of the error and await their response.

Feeling even more empathy for the post office guys!

I will be keeping the path of events updated on this trustpilot platform

Incompetent complaints department

Charging me for a car using the crossing who has cloned my registration plates - despite me providing the dartford crossing with police crime numbers over the phone and via email, they refuse to refund me for all the charges, claiming it was still my car that crossed - for some reason they can’t understand what a car cloning my registration plates mean!!

I opened a prepaid account 13 July 2023 ,stopped using it 26 September 2023 ,just been presented with PCNs for the whole of September ,have sent proof of payment, still waiting for a response, the government needs to get involved in sorting this scam out ,also as been said by many, customer service is atrocious.
