Avoid This Dealership – Poor Vehicle Condition & Aftercare
I purchased a 2007 Mustang from this dealership a few months ago and have faced a long list of issues ever since. The car was advertised as having xenon headlights, but when it arrived, I immediately noticed they didn’t meet road safety regulations and appeared illegal. Upon closer inspection, I discovered they were actually halogen projectors falsely advertised as xenons. Even worse, the headlights were dangerously bodged together, with cardboard stuffed inside a shocking and unsafe detail that had clearly been hidden. I had to replace the entire setup immediately just to make the car roadworthy.
This was particularly frustrating given the dealership’s claim that the car would be thoroughly inspected prior to sale, a promise clearly not upheld. Strangely, they also put it through a service and its MOT 2days before it was received.
Within just a few days, the handbrake cable snapped. Despite this happening so soon after purchase, the dealership refused to help and instead suggested I look for replacement parts on eBay. A garage inspection shortly after revealed a noisy gearbox and a worn clutch.
Communication with the dealership, especially with Simon, has been deeply disappointing. He brushed off the issues as "normal" and cited a £500 discount at the time of purchase as justification for offering no further support even though that discount doesn't begin to cover the repair costs, and the car was supposedly sold with a warranty. Since then, I've paid out of pocket for several urgent fixes: a new handbrake, a radiator hose clamp, coolant system flush, missing parts, and more.
A transmission specialist would later discover what appears to be the wrong type of fluid inside the gearbox and suspects internal damage due to neglect or misuse.
Further inspection revealed structural damage, cracked components, and signs of previous abuse none of which were disclosed before the sale. To make matters worse, documents I received post-sale listed conflicting engine specifications and revealed that the car had previously been a salvage vehicle of some capacity in the Netherlands, which was never mentioned during the buying process.
Despite multiple emails and being told I'd receive a callback once Simon returned from leave, I've had no response in over a month later.
I feel completely let down and strongly advise others to steer well clear of this dealership. In my experience, they've shown a profound lack of care, responsibility, and knowledge, and I wouldn’t trust them for anything, let alone vehicle advice or aftercare.
