I love these pencils, especially for portraits or anything that requires smooth, vibrant colours. The high-pigment pencils are beautiful to work with and highly recommended for professional and amateur artists.
Love the fact that you can buy the items on open stock so I can just replenish the pencils/paints that I need. Always a top quality product from derwent
I ordered 48 pencils, all dark charcoal, for very large drawing. The majority of the pencils charcoal core are broken and lucky if I get two sharpens out before I discard due to broken lead. At nearly £2 a pencil that hurts. I appreciate it a very soft core but the charcoal is not consistently compressed or the wood casing is too hard so sharpening was difficult with such a soft core. I also purchased a mechanical sharper to try and help sharpening, rather than knife sharpening. The Derwent mechanical sharpener, is rubbish and I used a few times. It doesn't engage or pull the pencil in. It seems very poor quality for the price.
