A fantastic gift for anyone interested in WW2
Absolutely fabulous. It actually gives you real information on how all companies helped during the war. Also the quality is great and all actually works. I would have liked a French or German map if possible.
I bought this for a potential history presentation, it was a quality set that with a copy of one of the pencils, and a disassembled version showing the pencil's components.

Always been fascinated by stories of SOE and how their often lethal gadgets inspired Ian Fleming to create the character that became Q in the Bond series. Thsi reproduction is a piece of that history. Quite chunky, were they this thick in the war? And Id imagine the secret was soon out once a few RAF airmen had been captured but as a last ditch escape aid it was a brilliant idea.

If you are ever able to visit the Derwent Pencil Museum in the Lake District, they can show you more information on this piece of history.

Good novelty item for people with interest and knowledge of second world war
Beautiful product and brilliant story behind it’s creation! Inadvertently stumbled on the story of WW2 Secret Map Pencil when visiting the Derwent museum. The pencil replica is high quality and beautifully boxed, which made this gift even more special. The recipient particularly liked that there is one complete pencil and then a second pencil with all the elements separate. Thoroughly pleased with my purchase. Thank you.

Very good product ,well presented ,good to remember ww2 inventions that would have passed by in time and forgotten Pity though that it’s made in China been better if made in uk factory by Derwent but that said good to see wartime ingenuity not forgotten that helped airmen ,soe etc .
Not worth the money. Poorly made. Although very interesting it cheap and tacky
