Oh man, where do I even begin? This website is absolute hell. It's filled with LITERAL predators and fetish artists that ruin any fictional character that exists for 0.1 seconds. For some reason, fetish artists get protected and treated like toddlers for everything they do, even if that means drawing a young character in the most disgusting way possible and somehow not get called out for it. Did I mention the comments? Every comment I see on something bad, the average comment is always, "Hot!" as if these people have never seen a female before. Every comment will always be about compliment the art, rather than calling it out. Not only is that bad, DA is constantly spammed with AI. If you were to confort a fetish artist for drawing something disturbing, you'll get attacked by freaks saying that your wrong, even though what they're doing is wrong. I really don't know why, but DA users extremely obsessed with pregnant women and other things that involve fatness. I highly doubt there's any normal people on this website, because if they're is, the chance of finding a normal artist would be the same chance as winning a lottery. Lots of the people on this website are stupid as hell, and apparently common sense doesn't exist on here. And another thing, who the hell let their children on this website???? I'm not joking when I say that kids shouldn't be on this website, they really shouldn't. There's so many dumb kibs on this website that they even got influenced by these fetish freaks and started being apart of it. I'll never forget that day when I confroted a nine year old for drawing a character with a giant gluteus maximus and called me slurs over it. This is truly the golden age of our generation! I know cyberbulling is a bad thing and that nobody deserves it, but these people on DA clearly deserve to be made fun of. I know there's NSFW artists out there that do these kind of things too, but I mostly have beef with the fetish artists. I believe that not only does fetish artist on this platform deserve to be harassed and called out for their disgusting actions, but publicly executed and embrace the absolute worst for their lives. These hypocrites are the reason why art should not exist.

Horrible SUPPORT. Wrote them email already two WEEKS ago, because I lost access to my profile and need help. Meanwhile my subscriptions are taking money, but I cant do anything. I dont know if they will ever reply to me. Its really BAD!

A good platform if you want to buy arts and support artists. However there are a lot of AI generated content and sometimes people don't point about using AI in their works.

There is way too much crap on the platform with AI Slop, Unnecessary Sexual Content, and low quality content. Also selling your art on DeviantArt is a waste of time due to their really obnoxious subscription preventing people like me who are poor from selling their art.

i just started deviantart pretty recently however upon searching 1-2 pages of content, it gets filled with ai and horrendously disturbing content that is vastly innapropriate for the people who see them, and this website is heavily unhinged and has almost no moderation behind it, dont trust this platform, and its fully filled up with weirdos making potentionally sensitive content.

Been active there as a creator for over a year now, and I can say mostly good things from my experience, though there are definitely issues.

The site is fairly easy to use (both as a user and creator) and easy to get started there and develop an audience. Mature content rules are much less dumb and hypocritical than on most platforms these days - it feels like one of the last remaining platforms that understands there are things in between "SFW" and "porn" (with a clear Mature category, which exists for a reason). Decent tools to find what you want as a viewer or be found as a creator.

The biggest issue currently is that AI "art" should be separated by a much thicker line (you can mostly filter it out, but while browsing suggestions etc. you often run into it), and the rules definitely feel unclear at times - I have seen adult creators complain that some of their not-so-explicit work got taken down, while there's definitely stuff on DA that's hard to call by other name than porn that stays without problems. I still prefer this over the pearl-clutching and corporate appeasement everywhere else, but there is a lot to improve here.

Also, what made me write this review - I mistakenly had membership renewal enabled and it was refunded without much hassle when I asked for it. I expected way worse with how greedy platforms are these days, so that's a huge plus. (Though here another caveat: the support usually takes a couple of days to respond, they are not very fast.)

So unless something suddenly changes, I think the 1-star reviews are far too severe, and I think "got a refund when I asked for it" is a pretty good test of user-friendliness. Far from perfect, but not at all bad imo.

i tried to get help with my account but they are not a answering all i wanted to know was why i couldnt buy adoptables all of sudden and there was no offical notice as to why and they are a horrible company now

Avoid. Thry never cared about nudity before on my profile page pr picture or gallery but all kf a sudden they suspended and deleted my whole account with zero warning. Which os ridiculous especially as I stated on my profile page that this os temporary and will delete literally tomorrow 30th Nov or early December myself. They had no right to delete my entire account and gallery without permission and no warning first. For example, delete any photos on your profile page etc. They must deleted the entire thing especially ehen I was getting lots of views snd watchers, it's pathetic snd disgusting. I will avoid this BS from now on. It's unprofessional, unpredictable and untrustworthy.

DeviantArt has basically gone to hell ever since Wix bought them. That's really sad because it used to be a great site. But now days? Literature is unreadable because of site design changes, groups are impossible to find or browse, most customization features are gone, notifications don't work correctly anymore, the chat feature doesn't work right, and the new image search feature is basically completely broken. To make matters worse? Customer support is completely unresponsive to tickets.

Needless to say, I will NOT be renewing my DeviantArt subscription. Nor will I ever buy any other product from Wix.

Way too restrictive. One minor breaking of tos and poof. Permanent ban forever, no appeals allowed. No warning, no second chance, immediate lifetime ban. Terrible customer support.

They protect p***philes on their website. I directed them to said accounts and asked them to delete those accounts. These accounts were grooming young people like myself at the time, one of them admitted to being a 35 year old man when I was 13.
I’ve since forgotten my password (it was a long time ago) and the email address I used to make the account is on a server that no longer exists, so I can’t email a recovery password link to myself.
I have asked deviantart if I can delete my account and prove my identity as I have cousins on that website who can vouch that I’m telling the truth. But they don’t care. They also completely ignored the fact that I pointed out this certain user and told them about how I was groomed and his account should be banned. But no, they just want to protect p***philes. Absolutely awful site. Evil. And full of AI slop, NFT slop, and inappropriate art that doesn’t get deleted.
The admin team simply don’t care, and will hate you for even reaching out to them. Stay far away from this scam website.

Phased out mobile app, extremely inefficient, extremely annoying to use, actively hates its user base and does not listen to them just to make everything as annoying as it can possibly be

As someone who's used this website in the past, I am not using it again, and never will be.
The community is INSANELY toxic. Have an opinion, you get attacked right away for having a opinion. They will make hate art out of you.
Poor moderation. The staff barely do anything to stop these hate art or even the fetish problem.
There are TONS of predators on the website, and the DA staff are not doing anything to stop it. Children will get exposed to predators 24/7 due to this. There ARE children on this website, but yet there's tons of predators and fetish art (e.g. belly inflation, foot fetish, etc.) that's gross.
The notorious "fill-in" memes that are flooding the site with little to no effort whatsoever. I'm sick of these memes, you know why they're bad. Also, the hundreds of batches of AI slop on the website.
As a teenager myself, I understand DeviantArt is 13+, but I think it should be 18+ due to the fact there's a lot of predators on the website and fetish art. Anybody under 18 should NOT be seeing fetish art, being exposed to at such a young age.
Do not let your kids use DeviantArt. seriously! They'll get exposed to art they shouldn't be seeing at such a young age.

A website created by marketers for money, but not for artists. There is no moderation, you can be banned at any time without the possibility of unbanning, and paid features are aggressively pushed.

I have been on this website for three years now and paid a month membership but just found out that they will suspend your account for no reason and not let you ask for a refund or appeal.
The platform has becone a political and religious platform and it is full of sexual explicit smuck Artwork, gay lesbian transgender art work, nude art work, children Pornography, amateur artwork.
Full of degenerates.

This website is full of scams, degenerates, allows sexual explicit art work, nude, child Pornography, doesn't allow terms like " sexual predators" but allows a lot of lesbian,gay, transgender art work.
They suspend my account for no reason at all.
Many people share the same Internet service and connection.

Toxic AI moderation, poor contact, no replies. All art that is clearly 18+ is removed due to underage content. Their DCMA is fake, people can share and sell anything that's yours. DeviantArt is poison wrapped in a site; their entire system consists of AI moderation. They are poison because you can't open a dispute yourself. Those moderation crews are truly filthy. Don't pay them.

Art is stolen on DA. They promote AI slop, DEGENERACY, LGBTQIA+ BS, loads of SCAMS! Etc.

If you want an actual good site for art, use ARTSTATION instead. They combat against AI and do NOT allow degeneracy and LGBTQIA+ crap.

you can steal other people's pictures, reupload and sell it, deviantart's team won't do anything about it. absolute garbage dogshit website, premium users can post anything including content that violates guidelines and ToS, just because they have a paid membership.

their auto-moderation bot for uploading pictures is just as awful as the site itself.
their support team is completely imbecilic, they won’t even read your message, just give you a copy-pasted reply along with a threat.
