Good choice of product - but out of touch online operation

Great modern web site, and good choice of products. However the business operation is a little out of touch with what's expected of an online concept. In general the reasons for online retail, is it's quicker and easier to order and get next day delivery - than waiting or visiting retail stores. I get the impression the operation is small and they don't hold stock - so they require to source your order before dispatch. They claimed it was because products personalised/hand made however these are not bespoke products, they are standard sizes available from many retailers. The company doesnt provide a postal address(including on invoices) which may be a breach of EU law. (Giving further rise to theory this is operating from someone's house) One item received was far too large - even though smallest size available, so could be argued isn't "as described" and qualify for return under online sales law - however company refused to offer a return as was beyond 14 days of delivery, which while not illegal under EU law(if argue product is as described) is somewhat poor customer service as most online companies offer a far longer returns policy - a loss to the company however as was going to return and swap for a more expensive product.

In summary think this is a small business, hiding behind a well designed website, if you content with long delivery time, risk that you won't be able to return(or easily return) what are not cheap products - then you be ok, they have a lot of products that to purchase elsewhere would require using multiple companies - however all of them offer faster (free) delivery and better returns policy. Generally because they accept that one down side of buying online is riskier because a picture doesn't always help understand what you buying.

I'm disappointed with my experience - which a shame as had high hopes as being a return customer - but feel will go with more established companies, they can deliver quicker and feel more secure about being able to return.
