DeWalt bait & switch
DeWalt offers a new tool line, sells tens of thousands of units, has different models within the same series of tools- THAT ALL USE THE SAME TYPE OF SWAPPABLE BATTERIES !!
Then not only discontinues the entire line,
but also discontinues making the
~~~batteries~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~for the entire series !!!~~~~~~~~~~~
Rendering already purchased tools THAT WORK PERFECTLY!! ~~~USELESS JUNK~~~ BECAUSE DEWALT DOES "BAIT & SWITCH" B.S.AND EXPECTS PROS TO DUMP ALL OF THE WORKING TOOLS & BUY NEW INFERIOR VERSIONS THAT ARE A PROFESSIONAL JOKE.
The new version is a complete laughingstock !!! the "replacement" for this series of tools has a built-in battery! MAKING IT A "HOUSEWIFE" TOOL INSTEAD OF A PRO'S TOOL.
CAN'T SWAP BATTERIES IN THE FIELD & HAVE TO FIND A POWER SOURCE TO CHARGE IT AND WILL TAKE HOURS ??? WHAT PRO IS GOING TO DEAL WITH THAT COMICAL SETUP ?
DeWalt has totally killed the utility of these tools by switching to an internal, non removeable battery...
AND DO YOU KNOW WHY ?????
MONEYYYYYY !!
The DeWalt Executives: " we can make more money by making tools with built-in batteries !!! CONSUMERS WILL BE FORCED TO BUY A WHOLE NEW TOOL INSTEAD OF A NEW BATTERY PACK !!!!
" LETS KILL THIS ENTIRE SERIES AND DISCONTINUE THE BATTERIES TOO !!! THAT WAY, WE FORCE PEOPLE TO BUY ALL NEW TOOLS ~~~EVERY~~~ TIME! THAT WAY, WE CAN FLEECE OUR CLIENTS OUT OF EVEN MORE MONEY!!!"
Guess what ?
That is all true as far as it goes. I am being FORCED to replace perfectly good DeWalt tools !!!
but will I replace them with DeWalt tools ????
NOT A CHANCE !!!! LOL
!!!! WHY WOULD ANY PRO DO THAT ???
From now on, I am buying ANY OTHER BRAND than DeWalt !!!
I am a chief engineer for the largest property Mgmt. company in North America & I am recommending ~~~COMPANY WIDE~~~ to stop purchasing DeWalt tools, COMPLETELY & FOREVER.
The customer service is non-existent as well, has been shoved offshore to call centers overseas and you need an interpreter to understand the CSR's, after waiting 30 plus minutes on an 800 number....
Just more plain bad business.
GOODBYE, DeWalt !!
There are WAAAAAY to many good options available to deal with this B.S. business model...Milwaukee, Ridged, Even Makita has better options these days.
Bought a pair of Dewalt boots from…
Bought a pair of Dewalt boots from screwfix . After a month one of the laces fraid . I called back into our local store and asked if they could replace the lace . Straight away no was the answer . I showed my recipient and was still told no and to contact dewalt .(They couldn’t even sell me one ). I did this to be passed from pillar to post and then told to email , which I did and then to be emailed back saying go back to retailer . Fgs it’s a lace !
Thought better from a company like this . I’ve got hundreds of pounds worth of power tools by Dewalt .
If they treat there customers this way Im highly put off and all for a pair of laces !
I've had a good experience with my tools
Apparently won a DeWalt kit
Apparently won a DeWalt kit, payed the shipping, and then I had to pay a big membership fee, which I can't afford, due to losing my job, and income. Won't encourage people to sign up
Dewalt tools customer experience.
Let me start off by saying I think Dewalt makes a very high quality product. I own a huge assortment of there hand tools and battery powered tools. In fact I have bought Dewalt tools since I started in the blue collar trades. With that being said I am very disappointed how both Lowe’s and Dewalt have chosen to handle my problem. Lowe’s had a Black Friday battery deal which I participated in and then told me Dewalt was not able to ship enough product to fulfill all of the purchases. I was told that Dewalt would be sending me $150 coupon for a future purchase. After following up on this with both Lowe’s and Dewalt they both blamed each other. I love my Dewalt tools but it looks like it is time to sell them off and start again with another brand. This is not because I am mad about loosing out on the Black Friday deal but I am so disappointed in the way the Dewalt customer service team treated me on the phone. Thank you Dewalt for making a quality tool that I have used for the last 22 years but I will now be switching brands.
DeWalt don’t honour their 3 year…
DeWalt don’t honour their 3 year warranty. They will make it impossible for you to make a claim. I certainly won’t be purchasing anything with the DeWalt name or Black & Decker who also got involved with my claim.
Their customer service staff take weeks to respond each time, they never give you their names and obviously have no after sales loyalty . Avoid!
The drills are terrible
Fir the last twenty years, I have only bought and used Dewalt products for my profession. For almost half of the time, the chucks in the battery operated drill has been terrible, and this is my third drill buying in the last ten years. They dont hold large bits well anymore they used to. Even when you drill pilot holes, the bits still continue to pop out. Also the safety shutdown thats included with the drills also need to go. It makes it a lot harder to dislodge a bit when it gets stuck in a hole. This is the last time im buying dewalt
Extremely disappointed with DEWALT…
Extremely disappointed with DEWALT customer service. I received a brand-new piece of equipment that was already broken out of the box. Instead of standing behind their product, customer service was absolutely no help and tried to push the cost back on me by telling me I would need to purchase replacement parts myself.
This was a manufacturing or quality control issue, yet DEWALT refused to take responsibility or offer a proper resolution. For a brand that markets itself as professional-grade, this level of support is unacceptable. I expected much better.
Be very careful with this company
Be very careful with this company. I have numerous Dewalt tools and have registered all of them on the Dewalt website. However, the first time I needed to use a warranty, they tried to wriggle out of the claim on the basis that I had not uploaded the original invoice when I registered the product. There was absolutely no way that they would proceed with a warranty claim without proof of purchase, despite having registered the tool, and having 2 1/2 years of active warranty left, they would not process the claim without proof of purchase.
They have lost any future business from me
Absolute bullshit company !!!!
Absolute bullshit company !!!!! I have purchased over $8,000.00 dollars worth of dewalt tools on amazon in the past 5 years, $5,000.00 in rechargeable tools. Half of their batteries die within 6 months, and they said no warranty as the batteries that came with the tools are counterfeit from amazon? Abosolute Idiots!!!
I will never but that bullshit low quality crap ever again!!!
Dewalt totally sucks now!!!!
My waterblaster broke and when I…
My waterblaster broke and when I emailed support, they take a very long time to response. Only to be referred to Mayo Hardware (which a non-competant and rude customer service).
I thought Dewalt was a good brand, but I was wrong.
dont expect any help
Purchased a drill from local retailer.
Tried to register the warranty.
Almost impossible!
Mty model details do not bring up an image for m to tap on I have no idea what the serial number is or where and you are asked to create an account with the inevitable password to do this .Twice after creating an account I was shown "website not reachable" I've given up I hopethe drill is better than the customer registration experience!!!
Prepare to deal with Pakistani customer…
Prepare to deal with Pakistani customer support that will literally give you zero help. This was the answer I needed to switch to Milwaukee. Done done
Great tools if you take care of them…
Great tools if you take care of them and not throw them around
I bought a new Dewalt drill
I bought a new Dewalt drill. That's something in the forward and reverse switch was bad. I sent that back to them on Friday And they sent me a brand new one that was on my porch on Wednesday, I just can't thank the company enough. Not every company out there will stand behind their product as Dewalt did. A+A+
Very disappointing warranty support
Extremely disappointed with DeWalt’s warranty handling.
I received two drills as part of an official DeWalt promotion when purchasing a garden strimmer. I registered one of the drills correctly, but unfortunately ended up using the other one, which later developed a clear fault (reverse selector behaving incorrectly and a seized chuck).
Despite providing full proof of purchase, promotion confirmation, and flagging the issue before the tool was collected for repair, DeWalt refused to offer any warranty support purely because that specific serial number was not registered — even though it came from the same promotion, same purchase date, and same bundle.
The tool was already collected by their authorised repair centre before DeWalt responded, only for me to be told later that warranty would not be honoured and I should pay £59.99 + VAT for the repair instead.
This wasn’t misuse or abuse of the warranty — just an administrative mistake — yet there was zero goodwill or flexibility shown. Very rigid interpretation of policy and poor customer experience overall.
For a premium brand, I expected far better support.
terrible product, a complete waste of time and cash!
terrible product, a complete waste of time and cash!
lights one out of every 100 tries , then goes out in 5 minutes, was also missing button's, due to water damage on the box return was refused, so far no luck finding any where other than the states that will fix it
Garbage customer service
Went through customer service gave them my model number to my air compressor they told me it was warranted, sent it in just to have them. Tell me they would not even touch it or look at it.
Like what's the point of sending it? If you're not even going to look at it, just say you don't honor any warranties.
And that you're treacherous snake. Much simpler. . .
