I have never written a bad review about a company before but this company's Customer Service policy really very poor.
I had a boiler installed by them - the operative did not fill out the required form to enable me to claim the guarantee, and the company refused to honour the guarantee when the boiler developed problems.
I took the matter to a higher authority and they sorted it out for me which was great but De War did not want to know about it and refused to stand over the work of their operative.
Very disappointing indeed.
Absolutely worst service ever
Absolutely worst service ever . I wish I had read the reviews before booking Dewar to fix my gas boiler that had a low pressure warning. They charged €130 for call out, the engineer spent 15 minutes and just topped up the boiler with water and left. He did not bother to find the cause of the problem The boost in pressure worked for 2 hours and it stopped working again. I rang back and they couldn’t come back until the following week and wanted to charge me €250 over the phone for a leak sealant before the engineer came out to diagnose the issue. Absolutely shocking service. AVOID at all costs

I've had such a truly horrific experience with these people. I booked DWAR to repair my mother’s heating (she's an 80 year old pensioner without heat or hot water in November - which I explained to them when booking). Had to pay them in advance and wait two weeks for their earliest available date, which was ok. The technician never showed up for the appointment... No communication to tell us, so we waited at home all day for nothing. I called and rearranged for the next day, they promised he'd be there, again he never showed up! Finally had him turn up three days later, he stayed ten minutes, told us he wouldn't be able to find the part we needed to fix the heating and he was off!
Rang for a refund to be told they'd be charging me the €130 anyway as call out fee!!! Yes, really. So, I paid the price of a boiler service for someone who was a no-show on two occasions and who did no work whatsoever. I emailed to ask if they'd consider reducing the charge to €60 considering that €60 is the standard call out fee for plumbers/electricians etc - they never even responded.
Had to pay another company to come out, who were able to source the part no bother by the way, and didn’t charge half as much!
These people quote a full boiler service or 1 hours work being €130 on their site, so be warned. They’ll take your money and if they can’t do the job, won’t refund you. I wish I’d seen the reviews from other people who had the same horrible experience before I booked. Such a shame, and such a stressful experience for my mum.
DWAR have showed themselves to be short sighted money grabbers who care more about forcing a few bob from pensioners than doing the right thing, or winning long term customers. I’ll be making sure none of my neighbours or friends use them.
STAY AWAY...SERIOUSLY!!!
I booked an inspection service with this company for my gas boiler on 16th October. After 2 cancellations they postponed service for 6th November and finally your technician carried out the inspection of my gas boiler. While carrying out the work he opened the boiler room, knocked out one of the electric actuators for heating and said that it's not working (everything was working just fine up to that point), he also said that water heating actuator is broken as well (again everything was working fine, we have had hot water all the time) and that, together with those 2 actuators another valve with gauge needs to be replaced as well. Not knowing what I know today, and what kind of company I'm dealing with, I agreed, and on top of that I asked to replace the thermostat with a more modern one, on which he offered a Hive Combi Thermostat. He told me that he will provide me with a quote within 30 min. Once he left I was not able to turn on my heating anymore as the actuator was knocked off. I called him back and asked him what to do. His answer was that the actuator/valve is not working and needs to be replaced. I repeat: Everything was working fine until he showed up, I didn't call him to check the actuator but only to inspect the boiler and give me a certificate and now I am left without heating after the heating technician left. How that sounds for starters?!
He provided me with the quote over the phone, without any paper trace of approx. 1700 euros. I verbally agreed on that quote. What choice did I have since I had no heating in my home?
On 8th November I was contacted by a representative of DeWAR Gas Service where she informed me that the quote for 2 actuators, valve and Hive Combi thermostat is 1680 euros on what I agreed and was charged 1680 euros. They booked service to be carried on 14th November.
On the 14th of November nobody from this company showed up or called, when I gave them a call (around 13:30hrs) I was informed that service will be carried out later in the afternoon. Again, nobody called, nobody showed.
After many calls and frustration on my part, finally DeWAR technician showed up on Friday 17th November, bringing all the parts mentioned above except the Hive Combi Thermostat. He carried out the work and 2 hours after leaving I lost the heating downstairs. After several calls nobody came back that day nor until today 24th November.
Every time I call them the answer is: "Let me call you back" and nothing... Nobody calls back until I call again.
I am flabbergasted and discussed with this company and the service that they do.
I have a pregnant wife and no heating after paying, for normal working folks, an enormous amount of money for something that I am sure doesn't cost that much and didn't need to be replaced.

Un reliable
This is the second time I have booked a service and paid for such via their website, and they have not honored their appointment. In fact, on this second occasion as I wanted to give them another opportunity to redeem themselves, I made a booking for the next day and more than 3 days later, I have not been contacted by them or they have not responded to their email.
They are very unprofessional, and although I consider a contract been entered into as I accepted and paid for a date, they do not honor and have refused to issue a refund.
I shall be taking this further, and would not recommend using this company.
