DFS Furniture - New Malden Reviews 

We entered the store at about 30 minutes to their closing time on a Sunday. I noted the customer experience.
- Muhammed W who approached us to offer his assistance and advice while not imposing but allowed us to look around the store before our decision.
- He showed genuine interest in serving our needs. There was calmness, not hurrying us up to close the store.
- I chose to buy there and then just because I was pleased with him and his services.
- The whole experience was pleasantly conducted including when his manager came to approve the sale.
- Delivery arrangement was quicker than even expected. M actually gave appropriate info about the expected arrival for the sofas in store, which was essentially important for our decision making.
- I hope the sofa will be of high standard as instore.

We were welcomed by Lloyd and explained we just wanted to look around. Lloyd left us to do just that popping back to add information about the sofas we saw and then leaving us to try out many at our leisure. He was always available but not over attentive. Perfect customer service.

Purchased a sofa

We bought the recliner sofa from DFS, and it has turned out to be the worst purchase we’ve ever made. Just recently, it suddenly started burning and smoking completely out of nowhere — there was no electrical fault nearby, no heat source, nothing that could have caused it. It was absolutely terrifying and could have easily led to a serious fire.

We’ve been going back and forth with DFS for ages now to get this resolved. We’ve shared all the details, explained the safety risk, and provided photos, but there has been absolutely no progress at all. They keep passing us between different teams, giving us generic replies, and refusing to take any real responsibility. It feels like they just don’t care about the danger their product caused or the stress we’ve been put through.

I would strongly advise anyone looking for furniture to avoid big chains like this and go to an independent business instead — at least they actually value their customers and stand behind what they sell. This level of negligence and poor customer service is unacceptable.

We received excellent service from start to finish. We were made to feel comfortable throughout and were even able to complete the purchase while sitting on the sofa we were buying, which made the experience very relaxed.

Everything was explained clearly, and we were provided with all the options available to help keep our new sofa clean and looking its best for as long as possible. Overall, a great experience with friendly and knowledgeable service.
