Should have snorkeled in the Silfa Gorge.
But.... my son has big feet (size 49-50 EUR) so I contacted DIVE.IS to see if their drysuits were big enough for his feet.
Asked if it was possible for them to measure the inside of the boots
I got the same answer several times that there was a guide who had size 47 and that he had extra room in his feet.
But as I wrote to them I needed a measurement to be sure that he could fit the dry suit and not (as they wrote) that he could probably fit the boots.
Their suggestion was that we should stop by 1-2 days before the trip as we can cancel up to 24 hours before, but since we arrive in Iceland in the afternoon the day before the trip, that is not an option.
The result was that we had to cancel the trip

We did the snorkelling route at Silfra - I will never forget it! Papi was a great snorkelling guide, he gave us great information about the area (we had no idea it was the sight where the oldest parliament in the world was started) and took care of us while we enjoyed the lagoon. He very generously let us spend longer than usual in the water when we were overjoyed by the sights. I strongly recommend the snorkel trip at Silfra, an hopefully you get a guide like Papi. Great dive with Frida on a really cold day. At -15c you need a cheerful and enthusiastic guide to keep you spirits up and Frida was great. Had some interesting facts about the area and was very concise with the instructions. The dive was amazing, strange the 2c water felt warm to get into stepping out of the extreme cold. The water was so clear and the view of the two cracks beautiful.

After a nice swim we got warm with hot chocolate and bourbon biscuits which were very welcome.

Great and very professional snorkling and diving company in Silfra. Professional, educated, fun and friendly guides. Good facilities and equipment & amazing activity.

I experienced the Silfra Snorkeling Day Tour, and it was a blast!
The tour guide was informative and provided a history and geographic lecture on the area.
They fitted us in dry suits and ensured that our belongings were safe.

The tour was about an hour long in the water, and the water was very clear, they also take photos of everyone in the tour. (with photos available for purchase later).

Cookies and hot chocolate are provided afterwards, yum!
