Afternoon Tea Visit
We treated ourselves to afternoon tea and a scone yesterday.
The service was very slow, there were 3 servers, one energetic woman and 2 very slow gents who were not focused on their job.
The scone was a little dry and crumbly, the butter didn’t cover both sides of the scone and the minute jar of jam was ‘just enough’.
A pot of tea in a ‘dirty tea stained pot’ was £2.49.
As I’m disabled, I had to visit the loo, but the dedicated facilities were occupied so I managed to use the main ladies. The hand dryer was out of order and the general look of the facility was looking very tired.
We had a look around the shop but we didn’t see anything to buy.
Need to do better
Booked afternoon tea for myself and my mum both coeliac and my husband who isn’t. The stands if sandwiches and cakes were all lovely but the staff member who brought us our food stated we couldn’t have cream for the scones, I asked why as we are gluten free not dairy free she just seemed very confused and said well if you want it it’s on you (staff should be trained better, especially when dealing with allergies) feel it is quite expensive for what you receive also
the toilets were also very dirty and smelly and everyone who came out we heard them say they are always like that.

Soft play/cafe fiasco
Booked in for softplay....which was fine in itself. However, they have stopped serving teas etc in the softplay area, even although they have all the facilities there. The queue for teas etc in the main cafe were about twenty people long. Eventually we could place an order with a young girl who then took the order through to the main cafe - she had no payment machine so had to then go around the tables when she'd got one. The scone came 5 minutes before the coffee. After the children had their hour of play, we went to the main cafe to get them snack....as there were no tables available in the cafe area, we were advised we'd have to order lunch for them 🤷♀️ The whole system is a total fiasco!!

We didn't arrive until 2.35 and lunch finishes at 3pm .When the sandwiches arrived ( 3 of us ) there was no dressing on side salad .4 waitresses were chatting at station and on asking about dressing was told they had run out .No mention when they brought the sandwiches. I was offered mayonnaise or vinegar as an option ! I am aware these things happen but better to advise the customer first .!

I brought my 2 year old grandchild to soft play at 11.45 today and she wanted a drink which took me more than half her play time standing in a queue. There was no one serving in the soft play area, which is not a new thing and the people behind the coffee counter had only one speed! Next week either I don’t come or we bring our own drinks and food! Disgusting not only that but a woman has just come in and shouting it’s closing get out basically!

Weekly visits issues
I go to the café very Wednesday with a group. We have had large seating tables reserved for nearly three years. For several weeks now the tables have been occupied, when we arrive. I have had stupid excuses to our reservation not being in place when staff are asked why. The service has also suffered recently, and there is always a shortage of staff, and getting orders wrong. The price of the food and drinks has gone up by a good bit over the last year. Thank goodness for the Dobbies card, that gets you a couple of free drinks a month.
I always stop into the houseplants bit, and the staff are always cheerful, and accommodating.

Disgusting Toilets
Disgusting Toilets - The toilets are in horrible condition many cubicles out or order but only marked by a cine inside the cubicle. There are horrible marks all down the walls. In need of a serious deep clean. Would not be back because of this
