Nice clean store and restaurant
Nice clean store and restaurant. It would be better if it’s clear for customers which line to queue in and the bill taken to the table too.

Great day out.
Excellent visit, so much to see and choose from, in both the shop(s) and the plants. Helpful assistants, very knowledgeable. Food excellent too! Keep up the good work.

Always lots to see at Dobbie’s
Always lots to see at Dobbie’s. Staff very helpful. We always have to wait in a queue for coffee and snack.
Excellent Service
Gave up queuing for coffee!
Every time we go to the Edinburgh branch it takes ages to get a simple coffee, usually around 20 minutes. Today we gave up and went home when we arrived to find 22 people in front of us. The Stirling branch has a separate queue for basic coffees. Such a pity that we are members of the club but didn't get our monthly coffee. Really, the waiting times are unacceptable. This is not the fault of the staff.

I filled in this survey already, but just briefly again: Great service, great food etc. so all fine.
Poor Customer Service Team
Went into my local store a month ago to purchase patio furniture. Didn’t have one in stock so they ordered me one and said it would take up to 7 days to arrive. That’s ok I thought. A week went by, nothing, no correspondence whatsoever. Spoke to local store, they advised I needed to speak to the ‘Customer Service’ team based in Scotland. I called this team around 20 times only to be repeatedly told that they would call me back - they never did. The courier they use (XDP) managed to lose two sets of the furniture I ordered and still I got no correspondence from Dobbies. I had to do all of the chasing. A month down the line and summer nearly over, I had to take control and drove to my local store. The lovely lady there went through a delivery and loaded a set into my car. She advised that Dobbies ‘Customer Service’ team would call me the following day to discuss some form of compensation. Did they? Of course not, I had to call them yet again. I was then emailed to tell me that a voucher would be sent. I replied and said I didn’t want a voucher as this whole experience had cost me money. Money in phone calls, money in fuel to get to store, and the entire farce that this was. I was then emailed back to say they would do a BACS transfer. Ok, I thought, that’s good. Sent back details and now told it will take 7-10 working days. BACS transfers do not take this long. My one star is for the Customer Service team in Scotland and the absolute shower that is your chosen courier. I must however say that the local store were great so I will be doing a 5 star review for them.

treatment in restaurant
dropped in t edinburgh for food .no hot food after 3pm . told toasties were still available which I purchased, but was told by tall black haired rather unpleasant young man that " before you get settled will you take your tray and sit in the cake area as they wanted to close restaurant for cleaning" AT 3.30. Did that, tables full and filthy with trays and dirty dishes had to clear space so I could sit at a corner. Then proceeded to see rest of the queue behind me going into the section I was refused entry to. I think there should be a board put at the entry that THIS SECTION CLOSED.The restaurant is large so half could be closed off for cleaning . If I hadn' paid for a toastie I would have dumped the tea tray and walked out. I think a shake up with restaurant staff is badly needed.Never have this problem in the Klondyke or Pentland Plants

Very bad experience
When giving our order to staff. They failed to mention there is a Specials menu. Next to nothing for vegetarians. The salad greens we had were very wilted and clearly past best. One order was wrong and the staff were very grumpy. My soup arrived with gluten free bread. When i mentioned i had ordered soup but not gluten free bread. Another older memeber of staff arrived snatched the gluten bread from the plate. Returned with a thin slice of white bread in her hand and said “ one slice of bread white “ . Absolutely appalling customer service. Infact there was no service. Then to top it all off. We were charged £4.50 for chips we never even seen. Avoid eating here at all costs.

Totally dissatisfied
Very disappointed with the standard and quality of food at Dobbies in the past few months. Had a breakfast roll and the black pudding was solid. Had a scone and coffee and you could have bounced the scone off the floor. It was dry and tasteless. This is not the standard I’d expect from Dobbies.

We stopped for lunch today and although the food was good, the price for what you were given was actually poor.Around £30 for fish and chips and a macaroni and around ten poor chips in a very small bowl. X2 drinks. Not great. Food good, poor portion size for the price, was a tad shocked as this could have been a child's portion possibly ? Or is that standard ?
