Brilliant service from our fitter, Colin Quinlan! He has now fitted three doors for us and always did an amazing job on all three (internal & external, all wood). Last two were this week, even in 35° heat! 🥵
Gave brilliant advice to make sure we had the right door fittings when we'd bought the wrong thing. Even refitted a skirting board around the door which we didn't expect at all. Thank you! 😊

Placed order online on a Sunday and Marc called that day to confirm delivery would be before Thursday, then after a mistake on my part I required another box of tiles which given the pallet delivery charge was rather frustrating but an email came over the bank holiday weekend to say it would be shipped via UPS and a credit refund to my account for the reduced courier cost.
Great customer service and 100% recommend.

Ordered amazing quality laminate flooring . to my horror i was 3 boards short and needed them delivered to Scotland fast -Called Marc and like lightening he was all over it - His customer service was way above any i have ever experienced. The boards arrived 2 dayd later wrapped up safely the crown jewels . What a guy and amazing company - jimmy dowds Scotland

I was at the Newtownabbey store today and I was assisted by Andy. His knowledge of my requirements was excellent with no hassle. He checked their warehouse for the stock and arranged a joiner for the job in hand. He also got all of the accessories required.

My “very old” Mortise lock jammed and would no longer operate. It hasn’t required servicing since we moved to our home almost 40 years ago. After 2 days of examining a local locksmith advised that it could not be fixed, and our front door needed to be replaced. On Friday we took the lock to The Door Store Limited for their evaluation. About an hour later Jason showed us the “cleanup” he did with a couple of new parts. We took it home and re-installed it. Works like it is Brand New! Like a charm! Total cost…$75. WOW we are so happy. This lock will out last me. Thank you, Jason and HURRAY, for the Door Store! AWESOME!

I ordered four doors from The Door Store’s online shop in August 2023 (I assume they were fulfilled by their Belfast store). Two were cheaper hollow core doors, and the other two were significantly more expensive. I got a joiner to fit them soon after they arrived, but not long after, the two cheaper doors warped badly. The pricier ones were fine, but that’s not much consolation.

When I called the Belfast store, the manager said the bowing happened because the doors weren’t painted straight after fitting, and moisture must have gotten in. Apparently, this is "common knowledge" and buried in their terms. Fair enough, but the way they explained it felt a bit patronising, like I should’ve known better as a regular homeowner.

Here’s the kicker though: I also bought 11 hollow core doors from B&Q for the same house. They were hung at the same time by the same joiner, left primed—just like The Door Store doors—and they’re still perfectly straight. Oh, and they were half the price of The Door Store’s hollow core doors! So, while The Door Store can blame moisture ingress, the fact is their cheaper doors just aren’t as stable as B&Q’s when placed in the same environment. Which is a real surprise—you’d think the big box store would have the worse quality doors.

It really makes me wonder if this is even a moisture ingress issue. The house was heated at that point in the renovation, and one of the B&Q doors was in the same room as the two bowed doors from The Door Store. It seems more likely that The Door Store used cheaper timber that hadn’t spent enough time drying out prior to manufacture. Once brought into a heated house, it dried out fully and bowed.

If you’re set on buying from The Door Store, go for their more expensive solid core doors—those have been fine in my house. But their hollow core doors? Not worth it. You’re better off saving money and getting better quality elsewhere.

Overall, not impressed. Their cheaper doors are overpriced and underperform compared to competitors.

As a novice door purchaser, I really had no idea what I was doing but was thoroughly guided through the process by Justin. He spent a lot of time ensuring that the doors were right for me and that I had all the furniture etc that I needed for the job. Justin went above and beyond his sales role and as a result, I have the perfect doors which practically everyone who enters my house comments on. I have since made a second purchase from the door store and will not use anybody else again in the future. Many thanks, Justin for being an absolute superstar. Very much appreciated.

Fin from Reading branch was very helpful and patient, going out of his way to get hold of the exact door that I wanted. The recommended carpenter, Colin Quinlan did an excellent professional job of fitting the door. I had sourced the incorrect hinges for the job and he went to extra trouble to go and get the correct ones.

Been a long time since I was at or needed to go the Doorstore. It was always a great place for that cut above the 'box shifting DIY' store. Doors especially, designed and made with extra touches to make fitting straightforward and secure.

Surprised to see some of the same staff! That says a lot about a company alone. It also means with those long held staff, expert knowledge and experience is borne from those years of service.

Andy, greeting me with a smile, and asking what I needed. After describing the handle I needed, he knew exactly what it was. Also that it was no longer available (I feared that already, as I could not find them anywhere online). There was an alternative though, with the back plate of the same size. Not only was it the same size, but had the screw hole pattern, no painting! - result!

No pressure, no hard sell, just good old fashioned customer service! It wasn't thousands or even hundreds of pounds, just two pair of handles, but your would not have thought it.

I had a replacement door fitted by John and Jason (Doorstore Wirral). They provided top-class service. I have used Door Store (Wirral) for years and have always had great service. Any problems have always been dealt with promptly.
