Was a worker here

Worst work place ever!
Was working there for a month due to the cleaners manager Joanna that is a horrible racist person that always had a problem and never wanted to hear any excuse. Wouldn't recommend working with her to anyone that want to start their career at hotel business.

Sarah Da Silva was great and we made the right choice in choosing The Dorchester

We recently hosted an event at The Dorchester, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Sarah Da Silva, the event manager, was absolutely fantastic, professional, attentive, and made sure everything ran seamlessly.

The venue itself was stunning, especially with the beautiful Christmas decorations that created such a festive and vibrant atmosphere. Every detail was perfectly executed, and the elegant decor added a real touch of magic to the occasion.

A huge thank you to Sarah and the entire team for helping us deliver a memorable event. We couldn’t have asked for better!

The Grill by Tom Booton

Fabulous birthday lunch at The Grill by Tom Booton! Food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented & excellent value. Tried several amuse bouche, set three course lunch with the most amazing Fig Panna Cotta! The staff were fantastic with special mention to Matteo Antola. It was a total dining pleasure & we will return - thank you!

Great hotel

Great hotel, friendly staff, central to most interesting venues. Parking has become increasing difficult, although staff can find somewhere. Have been going for the last 30 years. Prefer Coworth Park out in the country more. Had wedding reception there.

Dorchester Hotel Park Lane , Perfect 👌

Every time we go to this hotel the staff and surroundings are world class , last night my wife and I popped in and were met by Simon and Jack in the Vesper bar , although not having been in a considerable amount of time their welcome was like Coming Home ! Service beyond expectation, if that is possible! Thank you so much . Kindest regards Marcus and Kathryn

Engagement at The Orchid Room

We recently celebrated our son and future daughter-in-law's engagement at The Orchid Room at The Dorchester. Where do I begin ? With Annie, our first point of contact who was efficient, responsive, full of good advice as well as being utterly charming. The room was beautifully presented - the staff on the night led by Gabi and Thomas were wonderful and have been complimented many, many times by our guests - everyone was so well looked after and no requests were too small. The bar staff were poised and unflappable - smiling and friendly and remembering our guests's drinks as the evening wore on. And the food - exquisite and beautifully presented canapees and bowls served with a dash of panache. We are in the events business ourselves and our collective critical eyes could find no fault an any aspect of the evening. An amazing experience all round!

Appalling experience

My friend and I went for breakfast at the Dorchester, something I had been very much looking forward to having never been there before. During breakfast my friend was taken suddenly and violently ill (I won't go into details).

The security guard very helpful: He went into the ladies toilet and immediately he called the emergency services. We are grateful for his help and kindness. After 1hour in the Dorchester's toilet my friend began to feel slightly better and decided not to go to St Mary's A and E. The clinician advised my friend to sit down and drink plain black tea. After a couple of hours she had fully recovered.

It's pretty obvious to anybody that what happened was a result of what she ate. Although exactly what the trigger was is not possible to say - and we never suggested that Dorchester had served us problematic food.

However, to my amazement in the middle of this happening the Dorchester presented me with a bill for our breakfast (and later on for the black tea).

The Dorchester later sent an email which simply referred to the 'undesirable occurrence today'. My husband sent a nice email back to them saying that what had happened was one of those things but he was surprised that they had charged us despite what was a really shocking experience.

The Dorchester has not responded until today after my husband called twice. He spoke to the F and B ops manager who, it appeared to my husband, was simply interested in avoiding any suggestion of liability-which was not the purpose of our email and call.

The manager made two points: The first that it's not possible to get food poisoning within 24 hours of eating a meal. And the second they had checked food temperatures and sent that for testing. In other words, this was nothing to do with The Dorchester. In fact the implication was clearly that my friend was ill before she arrived.

And that tells you everything you need to know about the way the Dorchester will treat you if something goes wrong on their premises.

By the way both my friend and I are black and it's at times like this that you wonder how much that plays a part in how you are treated by a hotel like The Dorchester.
