Recently had Dorset Plumbing go to 1 of my properties to do a Landlord Gas Safety. My tenant asked for a PM visit and I got a couple of text messages, 1 on the day and 1 when the engineer was on his way. He went and my tenant said the young man was tidy and polite. I received the Gas Safety certificate by email a couple hours of the visit and the price was great. A good experience all round, will definately use again.

I am writing this to warn others in the Bournemouth area about my experience with Dorset Plumbing. I called them out for a Gas Safety inspection, and the engineer "failed" my boiler, claiming it was emitting Carbon Monoxide. I was told the boiler was irreparable because parts were not available and was advised to install a brand-new boiler which they would send a quote for.
Despite not performing a proper service, they insisted on charging me for one. I had to call the office to get this refunded, which they eventually did, but the experience felt very wrong.
The Second Opinion:
Because the "scaremongering’ didn't sit right with me, I called out a second independent engineer. He confirmed that because the boiler is a room-sealed unit and my CO alarm (located right next to it) had never gone off, the immediate "danger" had been wildly exaggerated. Most importantly, he sourced the "unavailable" part for just £50.
My boiler was fixed with an hour's labor and has now officially passed its safety inspection.
Customer Service:
When I tried to discuss this discrepancy with the company, they were incredibly unhelpful. They hung up on me when I questioned their ethics and sent an email telling me not to contact them again. It seems they would rather silence a customer than explain why they tried to condemn a perfectly fixable boiler. They would also not tell me where the engineer had put the fuse he took out when disabling the boiler!
Verdict: A £50 fix turned into a new boiler sales pitch. Please get a second opinion before committing or being told you need a new boiler with this company.

We had a radiator installed in our bathroom and some pipework completed by Dorset Plumbing. They were very transparent around costs of the works and the quality of the work completed was very good. Vince and the team were very helpful and gave us some advice around our faulty boiler also which was very appreciated. We will certainly be using them again for any plumbing works.

Firstly let me say, our heating was working perfectly before. We had an engineer come out to do a gas safety check and boiler service on 1st December 2025. The engineer was very nice but after all was done. We noticed we didnt have heating anymore. They never checked before leaving if everything still worked. I rang them back and another engineer came a few days later to check and said it was probably some other part located in the under stairs cupboard that would need replacing. Though he never looked there and only at the boiler. He also said we would 100% be able to still have heating by operating it directly from the boiler instead of the thermostat. Again nothing checked to see if this was the case or not. He left and we still had no heating and what he said would 100% work, didn't. I had to ask for my gas safety inspection certificate to be sent to me and when they sent that, they sent a quote for this part which was their best guess as to a fault but hadn't actually looked at it. So I tried to ascertain why they leave without ensuring we have heating at 1st visit and how we know its this part. Is that the first one in troubleshooting? etc.etc.
They said basically it could be anything and they would need to do that then if that didnt work try something else at £60 an hour + vat.
So anyway 4 days later and I asked if we could please just get the heating working again and when could the engineer attend to replace the part. . . . .

I chased again now a week and a bit without heating. I have two disabled autistic daughters who have now been in a freezing house for over a week.
Finally they come back, saying that me stating that the heating was working before they attended (which is the truth) insinuated that they broke it and they will never return to us again.
Wow, customer service hey. I didnt even get to raise a complaint and they threw their toys out the cot. Imagine if they received a complaint.

I rang Dorset plumbing and within an hour had a wonderful man called Ben at my door to give an assessment…despite being in a more rural area. We had a quote the same day (!!), and by the next day had an agreed start date for complete boiler replacement, I must add that they pulled out all the stops due to my elderly mother living in an attached annexe.
We were lucky to have the amazing Jet, a highly skilled heating engineer, and someone we felt immediately comfortable with. She was prompt, friendly, and so easy to get along with. This is vital when having someone in your home. She was also kind and attentive to my mother, who would often come out and chat to her.
We now have heating and hot water!!!
I cannot praise this company enough!! Sadly I feel it’s very rare to get such amazing service from a local provider.
Special mention to Max and Angel, for their amazing customer services, and regular phone check-ins to make sure everything was going well. This a fantastically well run and conscientious company!!!!

The visiting engineer, Chris, was a really nice guy, quiet at first but very engaging and helpful, the sort of guy welcome in your home and treats it as your home. Chris diagnosed the problem very quickly and the whole system was soon operating as it should and all at a very reasonable cost too.
I have been using Dorset Plumbing for the annual Gas safety check and boiler service, for over 5 years.
They have reasonable prices, are quick to respond and provide a very good customer services, friendly and professional.
