Apartements being forced to rent out if they want use pool.

So this company has bought up the pool in our resort, and you can now only use the pool if you rent out your apartment to them. No standards needed, so people are just handing over their keys as they can't use the pool without going through them this way. Everything about this company screams scam: people who put in the least effort, use the most dire tactics, and claim as much as possible. Booking.com should start being aware of companies like this, who are ruining people's holidays, plus the areas that they are holidaying in

Scam agency

On the afternoon of April 9, 2025, my boyfriend was celebrating his birthday and booked a stay at Rising Sun 2 Bed Flat. We went from Faro to Lagos on purpose, and booking said that check-in was until midnight. We did not receive any message from booking nor any email confirming our stay. Upon arrival we called the number that was written in the booking and were informed that check-in until 11pm had an additional cost of €20 and from 00:00 an additional cost of €40. In addition, we had to go and get the key from the accommodation in an office. The name of the office is Dream Algarve, it is located in Lagos on Vasco da Gama Street, lot 47, the office uses a platform called Agoda, and they are not in good communication with each other, as Dream Algarve does not have the customers' numbers to even know if the customers have arrived and they try to send messages with this information that in my opinion should already be on booking and not just notify the customers later, but booking does not send the information to the customers and the result is that at almost 1 am in the rain after a long day, we discovered all this information, imagine our faces.

DreamAlgarve customer service is a nightmare

I rented a place through DreamAlgarve and will never do business with them again. They are completely unresponsive to attempts at communication. They required rental check-in in person at their downtown office for a suburban property within a very narrow time window, or else huge fees were applied.

RUDE, AGEIST, DISINTERESTED

Dream Algarve staff are rude, unhelpful and ageist. The apartment we rented had many issues, including no working oven, electric cover hanging off the wall, unusable BBQ area etc,etc.
We visited their office on 3 occasions to report the problems with photo evidence and were rudely dismissed on each occasion with no solutions to the problems being offered.

Freezing coffin - not an apartment!

Absolutely nightmare!
We managed to book two separate bookings...somehow this company has no clue how to put 1+1 together. It was my birthday holiday...
Starting with Internet-no instructions how to login whatsoever and young and arrogant, obviously not professional one, forced my 4 times bring the router to their office before they managed to turned it on.
We had no gas and no hot water for over 36 hours. When my wife went ballistic and demands to fix it they sent someone who laughed and said that we have to understand their system and 'just' turn this in this direction and this in another direction...
We took a shower...with not hot water...it was lukewarm water.As result, both of us next morning was ill. Having asthma to get a severe cold and fever was more thank enough. And apartment has no AC, no central heating and when you try to swith on a microscopic hitter provided all electricity wad switched off. Presumable this gear was totally faulty. I couldn't go out for 5 days and severely ill. Then we decided to buy a flight and go home. When we asked ti refund unused 2nd booking the management replied this - "We can't because you never complained " What a lie! Never book anything with this company! Beware of scumers!

A Midsummer Night's Dream

"Dream Algarve" (Sole Proprietorship NIF 513007750?) doesn't just ignore Rule of Law but openly denies it. Legislation of Portugal's democratically-elected Assembly of the Republic (and approved by its President) is abused on a daily basis by employees who distribute more than 50 sets of keys (from an office in central Lagos) to paying tourists, providing commercial access to residential homes for use as temporary accommodation (some not so licensed).

The worst experience ever

We had a lot of problems and the customer service was terrible. We have traveled a lot, but this was definitely our worst experience ever.

When we arrived at the property, the glass on the front door was broken and had a hole right in the street. Also inside the house, the glass in the other door was completely broken and had sharp pieces of glass. We were on a trip with our 1-year-old child, so this was dangerous with him. We reported it in a message, but we couldn't reach anyone. We had to go to the office that evening and they a promised to fix the problem right away. These were not corrected until the 4th day. The biggest problem, however, was the electrical problem in the house. The electricity in the house flashed for hours on all evenings and the electricity was cut off for several minutes at a time. For this reason, the air conditioning could not be used, for whenever it went out, it went out to warm up and not cool down. This made it difficult to sleep. It was impossible to stay in the house and the customer service could not be reached. The phone number given to us did not work. We eventually found another number to call and reached out to a customer service representative. We got some really rude customer service. We decided to leave the accommodation earlier and we were promised compensation for the rest of the nights. However, there was no refund in the end and we have called and sent a message many times.

I do not recommend their services to anyone. Avoid this company.

Their apartments are not as described. They do not reply to emails.

Save yourself time and money and use someone else.

Attention

Attention! The beds were full of red bugs, which we could not stay for the days we planned. We had a terrible night and we had to rest on the floor as we hadn’t anywhere to go once we found out the infestation. We could not sleep in the beds and we had to leave once the sun was up. The property management found another place for us which did not have same features and was not proactive in solve our situation. We had to stop our plans for our trip to try to get another place cause we wouldn’t have anywhere to go. The management did not return our request of refund or compensation, did not answer email.

Very bad experience with this agency

They invoiced us 20€ because we came at 8:00 PM rather than 7:00 PM

And they promise us a breakfast and it was included in the price, but they lied to us , there is no breakfast

The apartment smells bad

Don’t book your staying with this agency !

I am unhappy to discover that I was…

I am unhappy to discover that I was informed by telephone that I would have to pay an additional €20 to obtain the keys to my reservation in Lagos, simply because my arrival is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. instead of 7 p.m., even though this information is not 'is not indicated on the establishment page. I find this practice unacceptable. The staff are just terrible on the phone and at the agency. I saw so many terrible reviews on Google after booking. I don't recommend.

Renamed: "Nightmare Algarve"

Renamed: ‘Nightmare Algarve’. This company is run by Shis***ers. No hot water, no bed blankets, (February), impossible to use shower with broken doors, all wooden doors jamming, dirty accommodation and dirty bedding, old windows that let in all local noise and weather, inedible breakfast, dirty old chairs, broken outside lights, broken barbeque, have to collect keys from miles away …. I could go on… stay away from this company, ask yourself; how do they get their good reviews on booking.com as they would only get one star from anyone for this accommodation in Lagos...

Awful accommodation ruined my wife's dream 60th birthday

This was supposed to be a dream villa with pool for my wife's 60th birthday, Unfortunately we were let down badly by the general condition of the property.
Hotels.com refused to refund me as dreamalgarve wouldnt accept any responsibility.
Here are a list of the maim problems:-

Chair and filter element in middle of pool.
Pool bottom not clean
Awning broken and long metal section swinging around dangerously
Glass on patio
Some shutter stays were missing or broke meaning the shutters couldn't be left open.
Ever toilet roll holder centre missing
Packaging left round side
Some external lights not working especially by the steps leading to the front door which could lead to an accident
Guest ensuite toilet lid badly rotten
Guest ensuite toilet continually running keeping us awake
Guest room covered in many large splattered mosquito stains
Light switch hanging off kitchen wall
Bare wires on ceiling lights
Cooker wouldn't work ( ignition)
Shower kept randomly changing from hot to cold
wifi coverage poor or non-existant
All fridge and some freezer draws missing or broken meaning heavy items would fall out
Fridge dirty and in poor condition.
Had to wait to after 17:00 for occupation.

Would rather sleep on the street than using DreamAlgarge

This is probably the worst experience I've ever had. We did at booking through Booking.com, arrived at the key pickup where they told us they will bring bedsheets and towels a little later that day, due to some issues, that was OK with me. But later that evening, we had not received anything. No bedsheets, no cleaning, no towels, nothing! We came to a room where we could just sleep on the mattress as it was, and it was dirty. I tried to call, but no one answered. We ended up sleeping on the mattress wtithout bedsheets and only with our own beach-towels as blankets. The day after, nothing happened all day, and I ended up speaking to the manager of DreamAlgarve who was so rude to me and wouldn't give me a single penny in compensation for this. I have never been at a place, with so little service to their customers. I will NEVER in my life again pay anything to this place, I would rather sleep on the street than in any of their apartments.

DreamAlgarve, Lagos AVOID

This company manage properties for owners and also act as an Estate Agent in Lagos, Portugal. The first property we rented was at C15 Pateo do Convento. It was dirty and badly maintained. On entering we noted socket hanging off wall exposing wiring. Sofas in lounge badly stained. Tap and toilet seat ready to come away as they were very loose in first toilet. This was a 3 bedroom property. We arrived late at night so didn’t discover other problems till next day. The remotes for air conditioning were not working so I had to stand on a chair to operate manually. I am nearly 73 years old. There was only one bed that wasn’t brick hard which we slept in. In the morning while retrieving a heat pad I had brought from home for my back, I pulled back sheet to discover no mattress protector. The mattress was absolutely disgusting with what looked like sweat stains and blood. I would not have slept on it if I’d known. As the internet was not working we were at a loss of what to do. We had booked through Booking.com so contacted our daughter who took up our case for us. We also went to DreamAlgarve to report the problems which they wanted to fix. I pointed out we’re they going to supply a new mattress that day.

With the intervention of Booking.com they agreed to a cancellation and offered us another property. This one looked fine to start with but had no air conditioning so no heat. It happened to be unusually cold for the Algarve at that time of year. There were not enough blankets for the beds. Also dishwasher did not work and as we found out later washing machine did not spin clothes. We were prepared to do without dishwasher and found a small fan heater which was totally inadequate for a 2 bedroom apartment at Marina Park. They did not mention apartment was up a steep hill so we had to get taxis back as my back and arthritic hip prevented me from walking back.

Final straw was electric went off. We had to visit office again. I asked for refund which was refused. After sone insistence a maintenance man was arranged for later on that day. He came and pushed a button in a box outside the apartment to reset the electricity. He brought 2 more fan heaters and more blankets. To fix the dishwasher he gave it a few bangs then switched it on. He insisted it was working as it was swishing water round. I explained that’s all it did and the water was cold. Also detergent wasn’t released. I explained it didn’t complete a cycle and would just swish cold water around all day and night until you switched it off. He seemed to think it was cleaning dishes. I gave up at this point.
Half of our holiday week was ruined by these experiences. Please do not rent from this company. They should not take on properties that owners are not willing to spend money on. The cleanliness award you see in details should not be believed
