Be Aware of Fake Transparency and Customer Focus

Updated 5/20/19: I have updated my review from a 2 to 4 and provided new feedback at the end but left the original review in [[ ]]. Please see the end for the update and rating increase reason.

[[Disclaimer: I have yet to receive my product so this review is based solely on the experience of ordering and shipping thus far. Will update on the actual product quality once I receive it, but I feel comfortable leaving this review now because I companies transparency and business practices mean more than the quality of their products. You can have good quality products but bad uncustomer centric business practices.

I am always leery of buying things from not well known or reputable companies but like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Below are my bullets of issues with this company.

**Note to company: I hope you read this all and don't take it as another dissatisfied customer just trying to make you look bad but rather as advice on things you can change to improve your customer satisfaction, ratings, and trust level and understand how your practices affect your customers and why they may have bad experiences with you and how you can improve it so they are recommending you to all of their friends instead of warning people to be wary. I would not have spent the time writing this lengthy review if I did not truly want to help and see you succeed for both you and your customer.

1) Payment Process.
I am highly disappointed that it is not clear that your card will be charged from a foreign country. I'm not saying that the US has to be the standard country, but if they country is something other than the language and currency the website is being viewed from then it should be clearly noted somewhere where it will be charged from or made more well known where the company is based that way people don't unknowingly get charged foreign transaction fees as I did. I have a card that does not charge any foreign transaction fees that I could have used instead had I only known. THIS IS ONE EASY THING THAT COULD BE IMPROVED TO ENHANCE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

Payment issue #2. While it is not illegal for a company to charge your card before shipping your product it's very frowned upon and even restricted by some credit card companies. Most companies put a hold on your card until the product is shipped. That is not the case with Dresslilly. I placed my order on Apri 2nd and the charged finalized on my card on April 4th which would leave a normal person to believe that their product had shipped or would be shipping shortly. This is not the case though as my product was not shipped until April 18th. 16 days after my order and two weeks after the charge had crossed my card. I RECOMMEND THE COMPANY TO HOLD OFF ON PROCESSING PAYMENTS UNTIL PRODUCTS ARE SHIPPED OR WILL BE SHIPPED WITHIN AT LEAST 48 HOURS. I DO NOT THINK THIS IS AN UNREASONABLE REQUEST AND ITS ONE THAT COULD HELP BUILD TRUST.

2) Shipping Process
While the company clearly states shipping times (for my selected shipping method) can be 10-18 days plus processing time. They do not state that processing time can be nearly that long as well. In my case, it was 16 DAYS almost the full length of time they say shipping can take. People often use shipping time as an indicator to whether or not a product will arrive in time for their needs and know that at MAX most process times are 3 business days unless otherwise noted and have a major influence in customer decision making. When I did mine I alotted that with processing and shipping my product should for sure arrive in 30 days, but instead it will be 34 days and just one day too late for what I needed it for. I can't say they lied about the shipping time as the product is to arrive within 17 days of the shipping date, but the RIDICULOUSLY LONG PROCESSING TIME IS 100% UNACCEPTABLE AND NEEDS TO NOT ONLY BE NOTED BUT TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE OF IMPROVEMENT ON THE COMPANIES LIST OF THINGS TO IMPROVE. I am not angry by the fact that my product will not be arriving on time but I am 100% disappointed in the companies lack of customer consideration with these things. More often than not people buy things online for specific reasons and a lot of times those specific reasons have timelines. Companies should be considerate of that when providing the information they know people use for decision making and consider how that info and it's consequences can affect their customers. I order this swimsuit for a trip I am going on with some friends being early in the year I had trouble finding them in stores so I decided to risk it by ordering online knowing that the arrival time wouldn't leave much time to find another if it didn't fit. I used all the available info to me to conclude that it was very unlikely and unreasonable that my product should arrive any later than May 2nd but this is not the case and now I'm out the money I had paid for a swimsuit (and shipping) I won't be able to use and will have to spend more money to buy another one before my trip. Had the lengthy processing time been available or noted I would have never ordered the product and had been able to spend the time I was waiting thinking this product should be processed and shipped any day now to look for alternatives and save money.

3) The honesty/transparency of the policies on these two issues.
These are issues that majorly affect customer satisfaction and experience and the companies lack of consideration for the customer in this regard has no excuses in my book and I've worked in customer service and in marketing for companies that do exactly this kind of business. We had standards for these things and were always considering the customer and making sure they had adequate information to make a happy informed decision because not doing so only leads to bad experiences and a bad rep for you. I will not be recommending or buying from this company again unless significant changes and appearance in the trust factor are improved.]]

Update: My product did eventually arrive and upon receiving it, I was not satisfied with its quality. I contact customer service and they got back to me within less than 24 hours every time I sent them a reply. They apologized for the inconvenience, refund my purchases and even allowed me to keep it to donate. They told me they would pass on my suggestions for improving the customer experience in the before product received. I would give the post purchases customer service a 5/5, but for me to rate the company a 5/5 they will need to improve upon the customer service points I mentioned above. If you'd like to buy from this company just remember not to buy anything time sensitive, read reviews on that particular item for quality, and use a card that doesn't charge foreign fees and be prepared for the charge to settle your card long before it ships. If you are aware of these things before purchasing then you should have a 5/5 experience with the company and the process.

As an update to my title, I would still say the company has a fake transparency and customer focus, that their focus is on buying first and once they get you to buy they will take care of you. I strongly believe is they improved the customer focus first the sales would naturally increase.

Unknown Seller

When placing my order I had doubts about the quality and the fit of the dress I was ordering but, I decided was worth the risk for the price being offered.
Having received the dress, a few days ahead of schedule, I have to say I was immensely pleased with it and absolutely love the design and fit. It totally exceeded my expectation.

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!

I had ordered a few items including a new dress for Valentine's Day at the end of January. I paid the expedited shipping which i was told would be 3-4 business days. I waited until last week and then contacted customer service about it. I was then told that they have no 3-4 shipping times and that it would be 4-7 business days and that i would receive my order no later than the 14th if not earlier. I then checked with them again today to see where it was and after waiting for over a half hour on the live chat for someone to answer me, i was told that it would be the 14-16 before i got my order. So I got the tracking correct tracking number (since the one emailed to me was not right) and called DHL. I was then told by DHL that they never received my order at all. This company is the worst EVER!!!! Never order from here again. I told them that they had better refund all of my money TODAY. Hopefully i will get it soon. Although that won't help me find a new dress in 2 days.

Terrible company

Terrible company! I made a purchase for a coat and a Christmas game on Nov 13th. I placed a ticket on Nov 23rd to ask about the items because the site said order was still processing. On December 19th, I sent an Facebook Message and inquired about the items. They kept sendng me pictures of the items and finally someone sent the message the coat was on backorder. After much back and forth via messenger, they said the coat was sold out and to choose another item to replace it. Again, a lot of back and forth. Finally on Jan 20th, I sent another message via the website. After several back and forth messages, they asked me to choose another item, I did and they sent me an invoice for an additional $3.69. I refused and instead of writing of that little bit, they refunded $42.63. Very poor business practices. I will not be shopping with them again.

Terrible company that makes exchanges impossible. I had 2 items returned in their packaging for exchange to a larger size and they are refusing to do so. Their shirt sizes are not comparable to the U.K. sizes something I only became aware of when the items were received.
I will never order from Dresslilly again.

Más de un mes esperando un producto, no vale la pena, todavía no lo he recibido. No recomendable. Te dan un número de seguimiento sin sentido y solo te responden con dicho número. He tenido que poner reclamación en PayPal porque las quejas no te las atienden mandan emails tipo.
More than a month waiting for a product, it's not worth it, I have not received it yet. Not recommendable. They give you a nonsense tracking number and they only respond with that number. I have had to file a claim with PayPal because the complaints are not answered by emails.

Dresslilly Outrageous Service

I placed an order for three jumpers after several e-mails from customer services two of the items arrived I have to say items because they look nothing like the items I placed. It would seem that they have decided to send the unfinished items as I have no idea what they are.

Having paid £50 pounds this is a total rip off. This company should be reported and band, if you read the complaints they are some many disappointed customers with the same complaints.

DO NOT PURCHASE ITEMS FROM THIS COMPANY WE NEED TO HAVE AN INTERNATIONAL BOYCOTT IF THERE IS A ORGANISATION WITHIN YOUR COUNTRY FOR QUALITY REPORT THIS COMPANY

Looked similar to photos. Not exact.

I ordered a single item with a promotion code. But they canceled my order and they said I ordered multiple times with same promotion code. I ordered only once. But If I ordered multiple times, they should send the first order, and cancel the rest of them. This website is total scam. Stay away from them.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Awful company. Item never arrived. Was told they had refunded me... THEY HAD NOT!!
Numorous emails and customer service tickets opened to be told refund had been made when it had not. Finaly got my bank involved who after threats of legal action got my refund which I add had never been processed.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEY ARE LIARS.

The colors are faded on both the dinosaurs world printed wall tapestry and the chic tassels embellished pashmina. It’s saddens me. Not worth one cent.

CON ARTISTS - DO NOT USE

I am a UK buyer, I purchased 3 bikinis from Dresslilly! Yes I loved the patterns and colours. Including £10.00 delivery I paid £53.53 for the swimwear. The following day I received an text message from DHL stating I needed to make an additional £19.00 importation fee before my parcel is delivered! Shocked I e-mailed dresslilly to be told it’s in our terms and conditions and it is the customers responsibility to pay this. I phoned my bank to try and reverse the payment, not possible, I phoned PayPal to be told that their insurance does not cover importation fees!

I have had to pay the £19.00 so all in all almost £30 for delivery! I am disgusted that companies are allowed to get away with this as I feel this was purposefully hidden from me!

3 weeks after I told dresslilly I didn't get my cloth they end up sending me an email yesterday telling me they have arranged my refund and it will be there in 48 hours. I wish I would have them cloth though, I really picked some nice looking shirts but all together my experience was ok.
