Dismissive and Unempathetic

My partner was Hema Chowdury's patient for over 4 months. She left every session feeling worse.

When she raised legitimate stressors in her life, she was met with dismissive, tone-deaf responses rather than any attempt to help her navigate them. Hema made sweeping assumptions about her background and personal experience rather than asking questions or actually listening.

The most telling moment was when she shared a problem and Hema responded with "I don't know what to say to you" - in a therapy session. That should tell you everything.

Every time she brought up a real issue, she was met with audible sighing and impatience, as if her problems were an inconvenience. No curiosity, no follow-up questions, no attempt to help her work through anything. My partner left feeling judged and dismissed, resulting in worsened symptoms.

I would not recommend Hema to anyone.
