Poor customer service

I booked a rental car from Drivalia for pick up at a certain time only for the manager at the Drivalia Hilton Watford branch to call me several times during the day trying to pressure me to pick the car up earlier because he had a delivery to make. I explained to him that this would not be possible because I had work commitments. I even offered to pick the car up later, after his delivery. He asked if I could pick the car up the next day instead and when I told him that I would be working till even later the next day, he offered to stay until after their closing time if needed. The call ended with the agreement that I would pick the car up on the pre-agreed date and time. However when I arrived on site 2 mins before my scheduled pick up time, the office had already closed. The lady I spoke to over the phone told me that the only solution was for me to pick the car up the following day. The following day when I called the office to arrange to pick up the car, to my astonishment, the manager informed me that the car was no longer available, despite the fact that I had already paid and reserved the car for 4 days and that I had been advised by said manager and also the lady I spoke to over the phone that I could pick the car up the next day. They were both very rude and unapologetic, claiming that because I missed my pick up slot (even though I got there in time for my allocated pick up time), the car was no longer available for me. Incredible! How is it acceptable for a company cancel a service thay has been fully paid for by the service user, without informing the service user first and without offering a refund?! I was left stranded without a car to get to an important appointment.

Excellent service

Dealt with the Watford branch, rented a van for a house move.
The service was nothing short of exceptional from collection to return.
Booked from Thursday to Friday, but needed to extend for another day, and had problems with the online extension, so I contacted branch, who quickly resolved this for me, and kept in constant contact to ensure I was happy, and that the process was complete.
On the day of return, I received a call from AJ in the branch, to explain the process, making it a simple and straightforward process.
Overall, customer service was just excellent, and any issues were quickly handled. The rates were extremely competitive, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Drivalia.
A huge thank you to every team member that I dealt with at the Watford branch, you really made a stressful house move a lot easier!

Avoid at all costs

I hired a car and as I was on my way, received a call saying there were no cars available. The agent was indifferent, didnt apologise, or offer to refund my money. I asked if there was a car for the next day, he agreed. Turned up, there was no car. The agent again was indifferent, no apology. He called a customer who said they were on their way so I agreed to wait. When taking my details the agent became aggressive when I asked about a discount and then refused to give me a car when I challenged his behaviour. I called customer service and they refused to acknowledge the issue or accept liability for not providing the service I paid for. Another customer was also told there were no cars while I was in the office and the agent complained about having to remain past closing time to receive a car and rent it to the customer. Abysmal customer service.
