Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally submit a complaint regarding my recent car rental experience with DRIVECY RENT, also known as 7777 Rent, booked through Carjet for the period from June 3, 2025, to June 10, 2025, in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.
At first, the process appeared to be professional. I received a WhatsApp message in advance with clear instructions on where and when to meet the rental agent at the airport for the vehicle handover. However, after arrival, the experience deteriorated significantly.
I had to wait a long time at the airport before being picked up and transported to the vehicle location, which was about a 10-15 minute drive away. Once there, I was forced to purchase an additional insurance policy that was significantly more expensive than the entire rental cost of the car. This additional charge was neither communicated during the booking process nor made clear in advance.
When I asked whether I was allowed to cross the border to the Turkish part of Cyprus, the staff responded in an extremely rude and aggressive manner, repeatedly saying “No” without any explanation. Their behavior was unprofessional and completely unacceptable.
As a result, I only used the car to travel from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport. The vehicle remained parked at the hotel for the rest of the rental period.
Upon return, I was accused of causing several damages to the vehicle. Fortunately, I arrived five hours earlier than the scheduled return time, which allowed me enough time to dispute this accusation. After a long argument, the staff finally checked their records and admitted that the damages were already noted before I rented the vehicle.
This situation left me with the impression that the company may deliberately attempt to charge customers for pre-existing damages.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this rental experience and I strongly advise others against using DRIVECY RENT / 7777 Rent. For comparison, I rented a car from SIXT last year under similar conditions and price, and the service was smooth, professional, and problem-free.
I expect a prompt response to this complaint as well as appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and additional costs I incurred. Please forward this complaint to DRIVECY RENT / 7777 Rent as well.
