DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS I DID. I sent on the 23rd October 2024 original documents to Pension Credit along with our application for Pension Credit, each of the documents where in poly pockets and everything was put together and sent via tracked Royal Mail. We have been denied Pension credit even though I had been on line and submitted details before applying and told we would get a weekly small amount only then denied, no explanation in the letter received , saying we had been refused. The main problem is we have never received our very important original documents back which we now need. I was led to believe these original documents would be returned promptly. After many phone calls the last one on the 20th January 2025 I was told allow us 28 days for their return. so why after 36 days I have received nothing. Both my husband and I have health problems which the worry from this is having a detrimental effect on our health. So where are our documents in the hands of scammers who knows? Or just binned. Where are they? If lost just tell the truth. Never ever again will I trust to send original items.

Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting. 1hr 30mins and no one answer. They keep saying they know we are trying to get through but they don't care. Tried again today and so far awful music for 20mins... time to hung up and tell them where they should go. Surely encouraged by the Government

The DWP is another fine example of…

The DWP is another fine example of money wasting on a grand scale.
They will believe anything you tell them. If the population can't get a Job they instead get a crutch or crutches, moan of back pain and if they play their cards right and know the system The DWP will give them a mobility allowance and GIVE THEM A CAR. Preferably a Nissan Qashqai. In addition, carers to do all their chores, a carers allowance, PIP, The full shebang. Grotesque waste of money and who foots the bill .? The hardworking taxpayer like you. I'm a retired Royal Navy Sailor and can't get a porcelain crown on 1 damaged tooth.

RUDE AND UNHELPFUL!!!

Absolutely shocking!! I just wanted to phone for a form to apply for PIP. The first time I got cut off while on hold, the second time I got cut off while in the middle of answering questions. I waited thinking someone would call me back. No one did. So I tried again for the third time, well I wish I hadn't. Clare answered the phone, I explained what happened on the previous call. Oh 'we don't ring back!! She was just so rude, obviously reading from a script and rushed, getting her words mixed up as she was talking so fast. I can understand they have to answer so many calls and it must get boring reading out the same questions, but where was her compassion. I was literally disgusted with her attitude and I told her I didn't like her tone. This is the phone number for people who need help with certain disabilities, and she really upset me for the rest of the day and has put me off filling in the forms.

Absolutely appalling experience.

Absolutely appalling experience.
We can never get through by phone or you have to wait an hour plus.
Letters are never responded too.
All in all a poor deal.
Even the professionals agree.. no one takes responsibility for anything.

Most satisfactory transaction

Waited for less than 5 minutes to be put through.

Spoke with Peter in State Pensions New Claims and once through the security questions he was instantly able to supply the exact information I required. Polite and helpful.

Many thanks Peter

Absolutely shocking attitude from staff

The woman on the DLA65 plus helpline (helpline is misleading as she had no intention of being helpful) was awful. Arrogant, uninterested, unhelpful, dismissive, lacking any empathy. As she will be dealing with people in their 70s/80s you would think she would need to have better interpersonal skills and be able to empathise and advise them. She said they have frozen my dad’s DLA while they gather further information. They did this in December but did not write to tell him. A family member noticed there was a reduction in his income and we had to guess why. They need to chase this up, but she was telling me to get the information, so do her job. She was dismissive saying ‘well it will stay frozen until we get the information’, she also said ‘it’s only frozen’. I explained that his bills still need to be paid. She clearly could not comprehend that this leaves him short of money and they had not notified him of the change. When I asked other questions related to costs he has paid using the DLA payment she was very dismissive saying ‘nothing to do with us’. I wonder whether these staff are in a call centre with a manager who can hear what they are saying or working from home and unsupervised. They clearly need better training and to be supervised.

My god the most insensitive…

My god the most insensitive organisation I've ever had the misfortune of having anything to do with, my father recently passed and little did I know the day he passed was the exact start of the week in September for qualifying for the winter fuel payment, out comes a letter to me and my address to say I'm entitled to it if he definitely qualifies (I don't even want it this isn't my primary thoughts right now) , I enter all my details onto the form as it asked me too and send it off to Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago, for them to send a reply back to my father's home with his details on knowing he has passed away, caused great upset to my family, utterley unacceptable actions

DWP over worked & stressed out.

I just think the DWP staff especially with the stupidly, un-needed huge amount of work sorting 1000s migrating from ESA to UC just can't manage the work load-it's not their fault, the job they do I guess is no one's 1st choice of work. I try to cut them staff some slack but its difficult as they don't hv time to be nice, just to tick boxes and get on with the next same, stressful, boring application they hv to try and sort in a v short time limit no doubt.I wish them well as their stress is unbelievable.

Universal Credit is a complete…

Universal Credit is a complete shambles!.. I notified the DWP that my mum passed away last month. So they stopped my weekly benefit I was receiving and left me with £77 a month universal credits which is roughly about £19 a week to live on.. The whole UC System is Broken and lacks communication. The single person allowance age 25 and over is £95.50 a week. Not £19 a week.

Not fit for purpose

After paying off an over payment which I may add it was DWP that worked out how much I am entitled to (child tax credit) I received a letter saying a new payment plan needs to be put into place. As the total amount left to pay was £75 I called and after waiting on the amount gone for a little over an hour I asked if I could pay the total amount there and then. After giving all my bank details to pay there and then they informed me that their secure payment system was playing up and their computer had just crashed. They assured me that they would sort the problem their end and call me back. After not hearing back I called again a week later to be told the payment system their end is still not working. This morning I have received a letter stating that they have contacted my employer direct for over due payment. They are a complete joke and not fit for purpose.

I've received discrimination

I have received discrimination from the dwp. There has been someone who works for them tampering with my benefits abd scaremongering me. Threatening to stop my benefits etc. I'm writing to my mp about this. There is a word called scaremongering. That means if people who work for the dwp try to stop my money I get frightened for survival etc. I'm telling the public what's happening and even the newspapers. I'm entitled to my benefits as I'm a disabled man, mental illness etc. Its illegal for dwp workers to be accessing my details and personally threaten me with starvation and stopping my benefits etc. I feel like I'm living in fear, eg frightened of going for a cafe meal incase they stop my benefits etc. Its illegal for dwp to discriminate and invade your privacy and personal life etc. They are not allowed to invade your personal life and privacy etc. There are people working there who are trying to stop people's benefits and blackmail them etc. If someone's family work for dwp they still have no right to look into there files etc. I'm telling public and even going to write to mps and newspapers. I'm frightened now to claim the money I'm entitled to as someone was messing around in my files etc. Nobody who works for dwp has a right to do that even if there a relative.

Creaming off peoples misery.

Although I appreciate the service I must say that universal credit is a step back and a sign of where our society is heading, for someone struggling to hold down 4 jobs not being able to have any permitted earnings of having ghost deductions on my payment is a joke. I can imagine the money the Goverment are getting by reducing people’s money and the people they are most likely laying off is going somewhere at the detriment to the economy and people’s. Absolute disgrace, trash in a can and a joke. They ought to be ashamed to be treating the people who come from this con try and have worked their entire lives like garbage. On top of this the tax payer pays money to cover benefits but is also considered a taxable income, two wrongs do not make a right and this is just stupid.
