Useless customer service

Useless customer service, hidden charges, hidden term and condition and awful service. I have booked insurance on rentalcars for £19 but when you go there they asked another £50 to insure with them because I forgot my credit card. They requested two proof of addresses, utility bill, recent bank statements, passport, even my most recent payslip. The lady 100 times told me not to break the car deliberately because they forced me to pay insurance with them. No clear direction to enter their place if you are travelling by a car. No answer or call back when I called them to find the entrance at their Heathrow branch.

Far too long to wait to get a car

Got to the Heathrow location ok but there were so many people waiting that it would have taken too long to get a car and I would have missed the appointment I needed it for. Have rented from Easirent at Gatwick before and it was fine but Heathrow is understaffed and shambolic. The good thing is I could cancel my booking easily which I did

Took ages on arrive,,,short…

Took ages on arrive,,,short staffed,,shuttle bus part of the service,none around at 7 pm,ended up getting taxi,,will charge you for anything there can get away with,,toll,55 pounds admin,75 admin for minor scuff on wheels,,never again

They have charged me for extra mileage…

They have charged me for extra mileage when that is not the case.I sent in my photo of the clock to confirm they were wrong and they said I had to report it to Drivilla who did reply in 4 days to long.

The do not put the mileage on the checkout sheet so you need to take a photo

Avoid LHR Bath Road branch - use an alternative provider

Having used the service previously at LHR Bath Road branch with no problem in August I used them again on Nov 10th.
I was appalled at my treatment and the unprofessional arrogant attitude of the man who referred to himself as the 'manager for now' Andrei P (refused to provide his actual name) His performance in front of the queue of customers felt practiced and accomplished.
As a returning customer I am fully aware of the hiring circumstances and the need to provide documentation to secure a hire and insurance deposit using a credit card.
'Manager for now' declared my credit card as faulty, unreadable and I must have insufficient funds. I called my bank whilst at the branch who confirmed that transaction requests and subsequent decline had not been registered on any of the several attempts to use the card. I tried an overseas credit card twice, both registered as declined attempts.
'Manager for now' decided I could use my debit card but was forced to take out the full insurance package - a product I did not want, reserve or require - and the small car rental cost £620 instead of £230 for 11 days.
I knew there was not an issue with my credit card - having used it 3months prior. I used it several times later that same day with no issue and have saved the receipts as evidence to submit to the BVRLA. I have also spoken to the police abut possible fraud.
I am disgusted at the passive aggressive and dismissive behaviour of 'Manager for now' and the ease of which he switched to selling an extortionate undesirable product and car. He seemed to think he was offering me a 'free' upgrade after extorting £400.
Disturbingly so, the customers behind me were also told the same thing about their credit card not being readable.
The car itself was in poor condition, dirty, covered in nicks and scratches and in need of a service - the oil change warning was indicated and now the tyre pressure warning is showing. I was told the technician is on holiday so the service was not carried out. the car was issued without a manual.
I want to be compensated and the agreement amended to the original agreed hire. Customer services are particularly difficult to communicate with.

Very disappointing

Very disappointing: the shuttle from T5 is only every hour and after a lot of faff to pay online for the bus, was later told I hadn’t needed to pay. Upon pick-up the tyre pressure warning showed up but there was no plaque ANYWHERE to identify the right pressure; I had to check online. After physically checking (and paying to do this), the tyre pressure was fine; the menu had simply not been reset.
Finally, all the paperwork said the LHR branch opened at 5am, but did not open until 6am, causing me A LOT of stress, additional taxi costs, and very nearly missing my flight. Also, drop-off was not well signposted…additional stress and time. Never again.

Be VERY VERY careful

On collection the agent advised me not to worry about the existing wheel scratches. The car had done 30000 miles and was expected to have minor scratches. On returne I was informed they are charging me 400 pounds to repair the scratch on one of the wheels. When challenged the agent was totally unreasonable.
This is the 4th car I have hired from them usually at the Cardiff office this is the first from the Heathrow office.
What a difference in their lack of care and dubious practices at the Heathrow office.
BE VERY VERY CAREFULL when hiring from the Heathrow office.

Easirent - excellent value for money ***

We had a great experience with Easirent. Car was clean, only 12 months old and the collection process was simple. My best tips for a great experience?
Book the full package for insurance and get a taxi to Easirent. We caught the free shuttle back, but paid 22GBP to catch a taxi to Bath Road, Hounslow from Heathrow - it's maybe a 10 minute drive and when you arrive after a long flight you just want to get there and get moving - plus you'll be ahead of the people on the shuttle and won't queue!!

Underhand insurance scam

I booked Easirent (now Drivealia) for a car for 4 days. Good price. The reason when I got to pick the car up became clear. The price does not include CDW or Third Party. Most rental companies include Third Party in their price. CDW is typically covered by your credit card. My fault apparently (as the lady on the service desk pointed out) as I ticked the “I have CDW and 3rd party insurance”. Ok, so I DO have CDW (credit card coverage) but not Third party. The scammy part of this is that they do not offer just 3rd party, only a CDW and 3rd party ‘bundle’ which came to an extra $40 per day, making them the most expensive choice. Unless you live in the same country as you’re renting the car, you won’t have 3rd party unless you buy it specifically, so beware. You likely WILL have CDW coverage if you use a credit card to pay for the rental, but will end up paying for it anyway.
I’ve had this sort of insurance bait-and-switch tactic before and it sucks. You arrive tired from your flight and just want to get on your way so they get you when you’re vulnerable. Pretty short sighted though, I’ll never use them again.

Frightening that this company exists

Dismally inadequate, 2.5 hrs in an outside queue, and when I got to third place (c. another 1.5hrs to go - regular occurrence according to staff) started overhearing irate customers screaming about massive (£1000) deposits, collision waivers, excess waivers, this waiver, that waiver totalling several hundreds.....scruffy bubble gum chewing staff, were actually the best bit. I walked out.
To people arriving here after flights from SA, NZ, US.... wherever, with kids with piles of bags, no refreshments anywhere near, not even a seat, this must make them want the very next flight back.

DO NOT USE THESE CHARLATANS. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Unauthorized charges on credit card

First they tried to force upgrade to way more expensive car. Then, they could not charge Mastercard, or prenteded that they could not. Amex went trough. Initial rent and return process was OK after that...
But some 7 weeks later unauthorized charge showed up in Mastercard. Which was never authorized for this company. I filed cardholder dispute.

Lesson learned: Never use discount car hire companies - those are the most expensive ones.

Terrible experience!

After landing at Heathrow on a 14 hour flight, I had to endure a 3 hour queue to collect my car. There was only one receptionist, who was trying her best, but it took nearly 3 hours for me to collect the car. Other customers may have even waited longer. We were all amazed and incensed by this and I would not recommend this company to anyone. You need to sort your staffing out at this depot.

This company charged very fast

This company charged very fast, but didn’t get their job done. They charged administration fee £55 task by task, but didn’t transfer my PCN in order to let me make a presentation.
They recommended us to rent another way expensive car when we arrived, which wasted us time. They provided not updated information for how to get to their address, that also waste of time.

Do not hire from this company a complete con.

Arrived late due to flight. Told we gave your car away because you are over 2 hours late. Only solution was to pay an extra 300 GBP to rent from the next highest cat. of car. I didnt want to do this as the cost would be to much. suddenly someone brought a car back and they had a car for just extra 200 GBP. Extremely dark outside so could not check the car. when i returned the car they charged me for a broken windscreen which i am certain i did not do.

Generally good and very good value

Based on three separate hires over recent months...

Hire 1. An OK experience. Requirement for utility bills not clearly communicated in advance (specifically not listed among highlighted documents, only buried in small print), which caused a little delay. Car hadn't been washed and was missing two wheel trims - not a big deal but disappointing. Some cosmetic damage not disclosed in advance, delaying departure. Return process was fine.

Hire 2. Better experience a few weeks later. Pick-up maybe a little slow but helpful, friendly staff then and on return. Car had some odd novelty features for which some instructions would have been useful. Excellent value both hires.

Hire 3. Best of hires. Online check-in not perfect but helped speed things at the desk. Staff seemed particularly cheerful. Everything else good, and a great price for a big van.

I Got a fine car that matched my needs…

I Got a fine car that matched my needs so all good there. However I don't appreciate the mafia like methods of trying to scare me into buying more insurance, when I already have bough inssurance upon reservation. The receptionist said the insurance from HolidayCar was a scam that I would never get anything out of and I had to buy additional insurance from them (expensive) I also don't appreciate having a large amount on my account for the deposit reserved for a whole month.

Company advertising they open at 5 am…

Company advertising they open at 5 am but theirs staff told me they open at 6 am I don’t who was lying but he was tell me they haven’t updated it I was not too happy about waiting in the cold weather for 1 hour in winter. The customers service was very disgusting as well as if he didn’t want our business.
