Popped in to buy a book in Easons in Nenagh, and needed assistance, but thankfully, a girl called Caitlin was around to help. She was so happy to help and so cheerful, one of the nicest staff members you could ever meet. Would highly recommend paying a visit and to talk to Caitlin. She had great experience with the book I was looking at and made me leave smiling.

The rebel alliance will be proud of you

I ordered a Star Wars calendar from Easons on Friday and after a mere two days it arrived in the post today. Its a great multicoloured extravaganza for an ageing nerd like me and the quality of the product is top notch. May the force be with Easons.

Very helpful young staff member

I visited yesterday and couldn't find what I was looking for, no floor staff, so I went to customer service, 2 guys under a lot of pressure, but very helpful. I had to go downstairs for what I was looking for.
Downstairs was a different experience. I wondered around looking for a book, again devoid of staff to ask for help. Found a young guy, who sounded foreign, who went out of his way to help. He brought me back to the checkout to look up the books. There was quite a queue and a woman went to an older man behind the counter who was gruff with her and didn't help. The young man helping me went to him for advice. The books I wanted were in stock but not on the shelf, the older man's response to him was, we are busy, just tell her we don't have it. But the young man ignored him and tried once more to find it. I told him to leave it, as there were a number of customers waiting. All the while the older man didn't help anyone. This was around 12 yesterday. Easons needs more staff, like this young man and well done to him for doing his job, but not grumpy ones. I'm going to Chapters from now on.

Greed

Greed. Easons O'Connell Street, Dublin. I picked up two books on the ground floor and went to pay before the main purpose of my visit Tower Records on 3rd floor and the Cafe. Over €30 for the books and they wanted 10c for a paper bag. No thanks, I left the books and didn't bother with Tower or Cafe. Went to Chapters, no charge there for a bag. Also one of the books I was about to pay for was OoS at Chapters so I ordered it online from Easons, with free postage, so they have to pay the postage now too, all for the want of 10c for a paper bag. Greed.

Counterfeit Products Sold

My daughter bought a toy from their wexford store and it turned out to be counterfeit product. It was half the price of official product. Yes, she should of known but she is only 10. The branding on box looked legit but when opened the branding was wrong. You'd expect buying from a household name they'd stock known brands. Not cheap knockoffs. Also there were 2 different ages specified for the product. Not suitable for 0-3 and also not suitable for under 14s. Shes 10 so if not for sale to under 14s there are serious issues. Disgusted to get such poor quality from Easons wexford. You would expect more from a national brand and kids toys safety. I also believe the CE certification on this toy was fake it misses the mark on many levels. No details on official importer, different age ratings.
Please if visiting this Easons, check products for authenticity before purchase.

I got a book for my grandchild about Rugby, as he plays it, however when the book came it wasn’t suitable as it was for some one much younger, I was told to go into the nearest Easons with details etc and they will change it for you. I live in the Portlaoise area. No Easons here. Months later I was in cork visiting, I took the book with and it was no problem changing it 😊, I was a bit surprised they did. The staff were excellent and couldn’t be more helpful. The shop is Easons in Mahon’s Cork .

Beware of fake discounts!

Beware of fake discounts!! Recently, I bought a pack of Faber-Castell (50 felt tip pens) with 25% discount (there was the sticker on it), but they didn't apply it. I didn't notice that immediately. I went back the day after, but the lady at the Information desk was very aggressive when I told her about the discount. Also, she told me that somebody else already used the pens. So, not only they do not apply discounts, but they sell stuff already used by others. I will never buy from them again.

A good service

I found Eason's on line book ordering to be a very good service. I received emails throughout the time I was waiting for my book to arrive letting me know where it was etc. However I have deducted a star because the amount of packing that came on a simple book was a disgrace. The box contained the book and a very large amount of packing which meant that the book would not fit into my mailbox. As a result I had to walk 2 miles to the nearest post office sorting office to collect it and two miles back. Otherwise it would have cost me 20 Euros for taxies which was more than the cost of the book. All this extra packing was completely unnecessary and very much in line with the additional packing that Amazon regularly sends. I contacted Eason's head office and complained but so far nothing has been done to reduce the size of packing. As a result I buy all my books in Kennys of Galway as they are always very tightly and securely packed with less than half of the cardboard that Easons use. I am trying to save the planet for the children but all this wasted packing is destroying the environment.
Since posting this review Easons have taken on what I said and sent my last order with very little cardboard wrapping so it was able to go into my mail box. I have therefore restored my 5 star review.

I would NOT recommend ordering online from Eason .com . No orders again , no correspondence . No tracking . A JOKESHOP rather than a bookshop . I had forgotten how bad they are , as I had the same experience 2 years ago when I last place an order with Eason . Such a shame

Was in Tralee branch and found 2 of the staff members behind the counter both abrupt and very unhelpful.I needed to rewrite my lotto slip as it was rejected by the machine. I was told to fill in new slip away from the 2 counters, even though no one was waiting to be served. When I requested a biro I was informed they didn't have any, bear in mind this is Easons a stationery shop. Overall my experience with these staff members was very disappointing and I won't be in any hurry to make a return visit.

Outstanding service today from two staff members.

Outstanding service today from two young members of staff at Easons Nassau St.

Liam was incredibly helpful, kind and knowledgeable about Man United books which I was not. 😅 Liam went above and beyond to find the perfect gift for my 10 year old nephew. These types of customer/employee experiences are difficult at the best of times but especially at the very busy Christmas period. Liam excelled above and beyond at the job. Thank you for such warm and thorough service. What a credit to the company.

As I paid for the items I met a lovely staff member called Emma at the till. They took the time to be warm and friendly when sometimes so many others are not. Another enormous asset to the Eason’s company.

As someone who used to work in Eason’s O’Connell St myself in the 90’s (yes I’m getting old) as a part-time employee while I was at University studying, I know how hard this job can be. Thank you to both of these staff members for the warm and attentive service. What a wonderful experience.

Happy Christmas to you both! 😊🎄🎅🏼

Easons Tralee Manor West

So I was in Easons Tralee. I picked up a box of game cards priced 3.99. I got to til got charged 5.99. I queried this and the lady behind the counter says she can't change price as it scanned at 5.99. I said well it was tagged 3.99 I'm not paying 5.99. She offered me a refund. A second lady calls the manager on the phone. The manager says just give her a refund its just a tag error! I was livid! Before you say it's just €2 difference; yes it is just €2 but why should I pay more than the displayed price? I'm not letting this go!

Fantastic store not enough Staff

Fantastic store
Huge Selection but really really short staffed. Impossible to find a staff member to ask a question
I also needed to return an online item
Having joined a long queue I was advised to go to the lower floor
I went down there but there was no staff there. All tills were closed
I went back upstairs and joined the long q again and got transaction done
Not enough staff and those on duty under severe pressure. Very unfair on them
What a pity

Exceptional service.I have always been a customer of the…

I have always been a customer of the Clonmel branch of “Easons”. I have always found their staff very helpful and they have always gone above and beyond to help me. When my son was shortlisted for the An Post book awards I became the “annoying mammy” requesting that they kept copies of his book ‘Hotel Lux”. Alison, the manager of the branch had the patience of a saint!
She listened to all my requests and patiently listened and encouraged me. Well done Alison. I know why I keep going back to her branch, she has a motivated her staff to be as enthusiastic and helpful as she is as she manages this branch. Thank you.
