I recently hired a car through EasyCar and was supplied with a baby car seat that was completely unfit for purpose. Despite raising my concerns with staff at the time of collection, I was assured the seat was suitable. Once installed, however, it was immediately clear that it failed to meet even basic safety standards and posed a serious risk to my baby’s safety.
To make matters worse, I had to wait over an hour to collect the car, only to be told that the vehicle I had actually booked wasn’t available. After this long delay, I was handed a car that wasn’t what I reserved and a baby seat that was unsafe.
I had no choice but to urgently purchase a proper car seat myself to ensure my child was safe during the rental period. This is simply unacceptable — supplying unsafe child equipment shows a serious lack of duty of care and falls far short of consumer protection standards.
I have requested contact through their Case System but I am still awaiting an acknowledgement (2 months later). Families should be able to trust that the equipment provided for children meets legal safety standards — in this case, it absolutely did not.
Until EasyCar addresses these issues and takes responsibility, I would strongly caution other parents from relying on them for child safety equipment or car hire - There are many other brokers out there!

there are always at least 2 options on the spot and same was it here as well. the second one costs you extra money, but you get services you may like, such as no cleaning fee, lower deposit etc
Booking the car was a good experience and collection was good at Faro airport with thrifty. This was a two day hire to get around golf courses with my 14 year old son. End of the first day the car broke down. I was unable to get through to roadside assistance and had to abandon the car and get a taxi as the golf course was closing the gates (7pm). Same next day, had to get a taxi to the golf course so as not to forfeit a very expensive round of golf. Finally got through to thrifty who agreed to send a taxi to collect me to meet a mechanic. They then changed their mind and made me get my own way there so I had to pay for another taxi. Eventually an incompetent tow truck driver came after I waited an hour. He got the car running after another hour and said I had to drive it to Faro and get a replacement - not an option as it was by now 6pm and I was leaving next morning at 7 am. Had to get taxis again that evening. All this because the battery had gone in the key. They sent a “mechanic” with no tools and no spares. After he got it running it wouldn’t turn off, so I had to drive it to my hotel and then disconnect the battery to stop it . I got it going next day eventually with help from the hotel ans dropped it back at the airport, nearly missing my flight.
Easycar customer service have, in summary said it’s my fault for not checking the car properly (I should have foreseen it would breakdown 12 hours later) have insinuated I am lying about not getting help from Thrifty. Clearly I would hire a car with my son and then abandon it and spend over 100 euros on taxis for fun! Apparently, because I took it away and brought it back, they have fulfilled their T&C’s. (If you read the reviews, their most common excuse.) They won’t review the calls that were recorded with thrifty and have said claim on my insurance for the 123 euros in taxis and hope i get it back . No customer focus, have made it all about it being my fault.

First time user I found it easy and straight forward
Never used company before. Booked this less than 48 hours before my travel plans. All the people I came into contact with were professional, very helpful and gave me confidence. I will definitely use again
They are scam company!
Double agents that uses special technique to have initial information on the original purchasing,
No one answer the phone
I got scammed for over $1,000
Be careful from them !

Good price for car rental and was able to accomodate a last minute request. Customer service was exceptional and was able to get in touch very easily when I had a problem getting back on time due to traffic.
Adam was super helpful and very professional.
Booked a 6 seater vehicle with Easycar, supplied by Hertz Corfu at a cost of £995. Vehicle broke down on day 2 was towed away & not replaced for 3 days. Huge impact on our holidays plans & despite numerous telephone calls, emails & letters, we are still fighting for the reimbursement of 3 days without car hire. This has been ongoing since June. Disgraceful service & unacceptable customer care.

Car was fine. Everyone in front of us who had chosen the cheapest type of car was persuaded to upgrade because "a city car wouldn't cope with the mountains." This was bullshit. Our car coped fine. Even though we were 3rd in the queue we waited an hour to get served. Apart from that it was all ok.
Terrible I booked online and paid for car rental and insurance for the week holiday. Total cost was £79.00 great.
Got to the hire car company and the lady demanded an extra £215.00 for their own insurance as they did not recognise the easy car insurance.
I had to pay this extra fee and extra insurance for which they earn commission. I had to pay this or I would have not been given the car.A complete rip off be very careful using this service it can cost you hundreds extra on the first day of your holiday.
