Great service at a reasonable price.

Friendly, professional and efficient.

Firstly, the initial office response from Beth was courteous, professional, friendly and very understanding. (I was calling on behalf of a 98 year old lady I help care for). A call out was arranged for the follow day.

Tom the engineer was equally friendly, professional and importantly caring and thorough in his work. Cleaned up nicely too!

Highly recommended

I have been using ECS for about 18 months now - starting with a complete overhaul of my heating system during a renovation, but they have helped me out with an (unrelated) leak and completed an annual service. All the interactions are friendly and professional and I am always happy with the work completed. Would highly recommend them.

Exceptional customer service.

I asked ECS to quote for a pressurised water system in our house. They were quick to provide a quote where 2 other companies couldn’t be bothered even attending. We agreed a price and date. Prior to the appointment I received a text reminder. They arrived at 0800 as planned and worked constantly until the job was complete. The two guys were tidy, covered all the carpets and kept their shoes off where appropriate. The workmanship is exceptional. Copper pipe work of a seasoned professional. Both the engineers were very polite and courteous throughout. They worked really hard both days, and went into the evenings to ensure the job was completed on time. They even fixed a broken bath drain and tap for free. We couldn’t be happier with the end result. I have already recommended ECS to a few neighbours and people I work with. Thank you all.

We discovered we had a leak in the…

We discovered we had a leak in the pipes leading away from the boiler. Very hard to reach, behind a kitchen unit, you could only see it by pulling the freezer out and looking sideways.
Water was going into the kitchen unit which also had a plug for the freezer.

ECS were brilliant. They were fully booked but rearranged so Tom was able to come that day. Kept us fully informed of when he would arrive. Came up with a clever solution to avoid having to move or cut the unit.

Super high standard of service

I rarely write reviews but felt that the excellent service by this fantastic local company certainly deserved one! We have recently moved house and had lots of issues with both the heating and plumbing systems. ECS sorted these quickly so that we were up and running. We have used ECS for the last 10 years and they continue to maintain their super high standards at reasonable prices. Thank you once again!

Great service!

We use ECS plumbing and heating for all our plumbing needs. They fitted a new bathroom for us last year. We had an issue where the water ran along the edge of the tray and cubicle and fed through the screw hole from the cubicle (manufacturer design fault). It caused a leak through our kitchen ceiling. I sent Ross the photos, he had members of his team around the very next day to find and sort out the leak and then they painted our kitchen ceiling at no extra costs to us! Also a couple of months ago at 4:45pm I noticed we had a very fast flowing leak under our kitchen sink.
I used ECS’s new WhatsApp message service. By 5:10pm Ross had one of his plumbers at our house to find and fix the leak. It turned out to be a tiny hole worn into one of the copper pipes. Within half hour it was all sorted.
I always recommend ECS to my friends and family if they’re looking for a plumber.

Fantastic service

Called Ecs plumbing out for an emergency job. Couldn't believe how quickly they responded to my call & I had an engineer on my doorstep in less than 30 mins. They dealt with my problem quickly and professionally. The guy was so pleasant & friendly and explained everything before he carried out the work. Bonus was the price, as I expected to pay much more and they cleared up after themselves, you wouldn't of known they had been there. Definitely recommend . Many thanks 😊

ECS Plumbing recently installed our new air conditioning system, and we couldn’t be happier with the service. From the initial consultation to the final setup, the team was professional, punctual, and easy to work with.

What a great company - my boiler was well overdue for a service and I had booked it in with ECS but the week before it was due my heating packed up. ECS came straight out that day and fixed my heating.
They also serviced my boiler.
I will certainly use them again and highly recommend them.

I have used ECS for over 10 years

I have used ECS for over 10 years, from an initial conversion from oil to gas, replumbing after an extension and regular servicing. They are always efficient and good to their quotations. I have no hesitation in recommending them regularly on social media.

BOILER RELOCATION

We had our boiler relocated by ecs, a very handsome professional chap Ross came out and completed the work is a very timely manner and I couldn't be happier with the outcome, turned up exactly when they said, the installation is flawless, Ross then ran me through my new heating controls as we had a new nest thermostat installed as well.
Would 100% use again, brilliant company , brilliant work

I was very impressed with the service provided. The engineers arrived promptly and were both polite and professional throughout. They carried out the work efficiently and with minimal disruption. It's clear they knew exactly what they were doing, and everything was left clean and tidy once the job was done. Extremely disappointing

We’ve used ECS for past 21/2 years,they were excellent, however despite charging our builder £2500 for plumbing works in new bathroom we were not impressed that an Apprentice was doing the work ,the Boss blamed the builder, then blamed Ideal, we had to chase them up to deal with leak under new sink, new toilet that didn’t flush properly, get silicone removed that they shouldn’t have done as tiler wasn’t finished in shower, call back to lower chrome stand pipes to slipper bath, said couldn’t be cut but checked with Roper Rhodes that they can indeed but cut shorter from the bottom which after Another call back has been done , now bath tap nearer bath & not splashing everywhere as before !
Never an apology from MD, would seem he’s Never wrong , not once called me during refit or visited sight when he knew there were problems !
Astounded that an apprentice working on a £7k bathroom and not an experienced plumber with him, apprentice on he’s own & out of he’s depth, not fair on him
We’ve informed Md/ Boss that we are disgusted with he’s attitude, accusing me of being rude to he’s employees whereas builder & others can attest how nice I’m am to everyone offering teas/ coffees and to call me if they need anything , we have our own business employing 15 staff, we’d never dream of abusing them , in fact that are so happy unlike it appears from what we’ve been told by ECS employees, not one but several, says it all.
They have to return to fulfil any further problems as per contract, when all Finally completed to our satisfaction that will be the last we ever have dealings.

To address your concerns: this project was instructed and managed by your builder, who was our client and the party invoiced. The decision on personnel, including the involvement of our apprentice (who was fully supervised and completed work to a high standard), was discussed with and agreed by the builder. At no point were we contacted directly by you during the work.

When minor issues were raised — a leaking connection, tap adjustment, or bath placement — our team returned promptly and carried out the necessary fixes at no cost. This is part of our commitment to aftercare and not unusual in a bespoke bathroom fit of this scale.

We do understand that expectations can differ, but we stand by our team, who worked professionally and courteously throughout. While you’re clearly not new to critiquing contractors, we take pride in the fact that many of our customers — including your builder — have been more than satisfied with our workmanship.

Successful County Court Judgement Against ECS Plumbing

I have recently achieved a successful County Court judgement against ECS Plumbing as they did not complete a service with reasonable care and skill, and were therefore in breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Throughout this dispute, the director of ECS Plumbing attempted to countersue me for “wasting his time” – this was immediately dismissed by the District Judge, but demonstrates what little regard this company has for clients. Having experience of the building industry, I have worked with many contractors and can say this was the worst company I have come across. I would urge anyone considering this company, to think very carefully.

In response to the response from ECS Plumbing:

As an NHS doctor, I am in a fortunate position from a financial perspective. The sole reason for pursuing legal action against this company was to hold them to account, not financial. As my claim was successful, the district judge asked whether I wanted ECS Plumbing to pay costs, which I declined.
ECS Plumbing were considered in breach of Section 49 Consumer Rights Act 2015, which states "the trader must perform the service with reasonable skill and skill".
Ross Eaton, Director of ECS Plumbing, filed a Counter Claim against me and paid a fee of £50 to do so. This Counter Claim was rejected by the judge as completely unjustified. The response from ECS Plumbing is blatantly dishonest and further highlights their complete lack of integrity.

You did raise a dispute which proceeded to the County Court. The court awarded a nominal sum of £43 relating specifically to a thermostat — not a broader claim of poor workmanship. Your other claims were not upheld. We accepted this outcome and complied with the judgment in full.

Contrary to your statement, there was no legal action brought by ECS Plumbing against you. A counterclaim was considered in response to repeated demands and time spent, but was not pursued.

We appreciate that legal disputes can be stressful, but we are confident in the standard of work we deliver and stand by our team’s conduct throughout. We have many long-standing, satisfied customers, and we remain committed to providing fair, professional service to all our clients.

I will never use this company again

I will never use this company again.
We needed a new shower door, a tap replaced and a new shower unit which we had bought ourselves to be installed.
No one came to assess the work to be done and I was asked to send photos and the measurements of the shower myself.
The plumber came on the day alloted for the work. I left him to carry on upstairs only to find at the end of the work that the wrong shower door had been installed. This was replaced almost two weeks later at an extra cost for the new door with apparently no charge for the labour. !!! My husband was in hospital with a very serious diagnosis and this resulted in a lot of stress for me during this time. I had no apology and will definitely NOT use this company again. They should have come and measured and seen the work needed to be done. This would have avoided a lot of stress at a very difficult time.

We’d like to respectfully clarify a few points. The type of shower door to be installed — a sliding model — was clearly discussed and agreed upon prior to the visit. We do appreciate that remote assessments aren't ideal for everyone, but our team followed up based on the photos and measurements provided, as is our standard process when a site visit isn’t requested or feasible.

When we became aware that the door wasn’t quite right for your preferences, we sourced and installed a new one promptly. While the replacement unit itself had a cost, we covered the return labour entirely free of charge as a gesture of goodwill.

We do sincerely regret any added stress this caused during such a sensitive time, and while we understand your decision, we genuinely aimed to resolve the situation fairly and swiftly. We are always working to improve and take feedback like this seriously.

Be wary. Be careful. Avoid.

ECS quoted us £500+ to fix a leak on our hot water tank, install a new valve and carry out a boiler service. Unfortunately, upon starting the work, the leak was made much worse and unrepairable. They installed the new valve anyway, dropped tha charge to £430 (as they didn't carry out a boiler service), and left us with no hot water.

In addition, a further leak was left dripping overnight. They returned to fix the next day, but only after it stained our landing ceiling.

No apology has been offered.

We now have no hot water and a bigger job to be done. ECS provided us a quote for the work, but no discount for the previous error in judgement or damage caused. We've chosen to wait longer for someone one else to complete the work. After several further emails, ECS have removed £70 from the invoice (down to £360) which we've paid to avoid being charged interest.

We've had two engineers around since who both advised us of a quick/patch fix to get us up and running and helped us for free until we have the new works done. ECS said the quick fix was not something they had ever heard of for our incident. The two other plumbers who inspected the work and helped patch it up both said how they would have done things differently to ECS.

It makes us really sad that we did our homework looking at Trust Pilot reviews and company house and we didn't find any negative reviews so we do hope this helps others to be wary.

It's likely we needed more substantial work (i.e. a new cylinder) anyway. But, ECS took no responsibility for mis-judging the original job, nor the damage caused by leaving a pipe uncapped. They simply charged us £360 for the privilege.

While we did everything we could to repair it, unfortunately, due to the age and condition of the cylinder, the repair was not successful, and the damage worsened. We’re sorry for any frustration this caused, and understand how it impacted your experience with us.

Regarding the valve installation and the leak, we always aim to do our best to help, and we sincerely apologize if the outcome didn’t meet your expectations. After re-evaluating the work, we adjusted the charge, taking into consideration that we didn’t carry out the boiler service as originally planned.
