Every teacher should sign up to Edapt. Their support throughout a challenging situation was outstanding and I felt exceptionally well looked after from start to finish.

From the very beginning, they were calm, knowledgeable and incredibly responsive. They guided me through each step with professionalism, always ensuring I understood my position and all options. Most importantly, they provided a steady, reassuring presence at a time when that really mattered. Huge shout out to Colin who went above and beyond and never once got fed up of my detailed explanations or continuous need for support and reassurance. Andrew also took over my case when Colin was away and offered the same excellent support.

Their advice was practical, measured and always focused on achieving the best possible outcome, which ultimately led to a resolution that protected both my professional standing and wellbeing.

Thanks to Edapt's support I was able to continue my employment after a probation dispute and can continue doing the job I love.

I signed up to Edapt after raising a few issues around safety at my work and feeling like they were brushed aside. I was worried if something went wrong they would put the blame on me so wanted to make sure I had access to legal support. It wasn’t until I left and my final pay was a grand short that I found myself getting in touch to help with legal support. I knew I had holiday accrued and had worded giving in my notice correctly legally so I would receive that pay, but they kept simply saying I had used up all my holiday which wasn’t true. Colin helped me understand where I stood, checked over all my emails previous to the problem and after it to ensure I was correct and hadn’t made mistakes in my own calculations, helped me understand my options and write my emails in response to ensure they were clear and set out the legal situation politely but assertively. They did finally pay me the correct amount of money after 2 months. Without Colin’s help I wouldn’t have managed this so confidently, despite the intense stress it caused, he reassured me throughout. I massively recommend Edapt for the professional advice they give without the pressure of feeling the need to get involved with politics.

I’ve been at meetings in other schools with other regional union representatives, when staff were seeking help with school wide issues. All they wanted to do was use it to raise support for their political aims/campaigning, they didn’t even pretend to come up with a plan to help staff with their issues. They did nothing for us.

Without that nonsense I am sure Edapt would have done a better job. A refreshing change for teachers who don’t agree with the political leanings of the big unions.

It's never sat right with me that throughout teacher training it's drummed into you that it's vital to be part of a union for the legal protection when all the options involve giving your money to political ends that you may not agree with. I was over the moon when I discovered Edapt - the legal protection and support without any of the nonsense.

This academic year I've had need of that legal support, sadly. Edapt have been excellent. My caseworker Rebecca has been brilliant, providing both in person representation and endless advice through phone calls and email. Through Edapt's support I've got to an outcome that is far preferable to anything I would have achieved on my own. Highly recommend!

I have struggled with other unions taking the time to listen to me and not act on my issues or take them seriously but Colin from EDAPT has been brilliant with advice and clear recommendations. Emailing and in contact when needed but also taking on my concerns seriously and giving sound and good advice with how I have been feeling and managing things to move forward.
