We had a great time exploring London, Paris, and Rome. Our tour guide made us feel safe and treated us like family.

This tour was not what we were sold. Lots of promises not kept. Told we would have a translator with our group 24 hours a day, all trip long. We had a French tour guide for 2 hours (for a bus tour) for the 2 days we were in Paris. We never met an Italian guide for the 3 days we were in Italy. I lost count how many times we were told “when you come back to London.” Or “the next time you visit you should go see…” It was like the guides did not realize this was a once in a lifetime trip for most of us. Don’t point out Harrod’s department store and tell a busload of people how cool it is, and then not let us go inside! Transportation and accommodations were very subpar. One of our bus drivers in Paris literally quit in the middle of the day! Causing our group of 36 midwesterners to figure out the subway systems, and walk a record breaking (according to our EF guide) 27,000 steps in one day. 1 out of the 4 hotels we stayed in over our 9 days I would call clean. Oh, and “breakfast included” in the sales pitch…is the janky hotels’ grab and go breakfast. I was literally handed a brown banana one morning. My granola bars and NutraGrain bars I packed in my luggage saved me many days. Yes, we saw amazing sights. Yes, we made great new friends. Yes, we were full of stories when we got home. For the amount of money we spent, I could have booked us nicer, cleaner hotels, and ate better food, and seen the same (and more) tourist sights.

My son’s trip was postponed for 2 years due to COVID, but when he got to go in 2022 it was an incredible experience that he still talks about to this day. Very organized, great people and well managed.

Challenges with post Covid travel. Even though this itinerary was my choice, I think it was too fast paced for my kids.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, Elizabeth. Some itineraries are more fast paced than others and we will work hard to get you on a tour that is more enjoyable for your group. Thank you for being part of the EF Tours family!

The trip thru Europe was incredible. Life changing! We are looking forward to the next opportunity to travel with EF but we don not know of a sponsor who is currently planning a trip. Can you arrange a meeting with a sponsor/leader of a travel group going anywhere including Europe?

Amazing experience for our son. He had an unforgettable time. Thank you Ted!

Transport issues but also poor planning. Schedules shouldn’t call for kids having to wake up at 2:30 am to make a flight or train. Especially two times on one trip. Several planned stops ended up being drive by or completely rushed. Better planning all around called for on the part of EF Tours.

We are sorry to hear you did not have an excellent experience, Natalie. Some group's flights will leave at early hours to maintain the quickest itineraries or to account for the time change with start of the tour. Your feedback is appreciated regarding the timing of your itinerary and flights and has been passed along to our Traveler Support manager.

Our tour guide was amazing!! She was friendly, efficient, and informational. It was great to have her with us at all times, even the hotel. Every coach driver was also amazing, they were friendly, on time, and safe. I give a 4 because I feel like we did a lot of hurrying to wait. I assumed the places would know we are coming and have everything ready for us before we arrive. Instead, we would sit around outside the place for 30 - 40 minutes waiting to go in, get rushed to see everything then move onto the next. It seemed to take time away from us exploring and shopping. The kids were sad at many of the sightseeing places they did not have time to stop and shop, yet we had to wait out front for 30 minutes. I would also put emphasis on the fact that there are no options at dinner, they make one meal and that is all. Our first night out at dinner many kids and adults (including myself) did not enjoy the food therefore we did not eat, that is on us, however many of us were not aware that there would not be any other option. If I would have known, I would have made sure to pack snacks. Needless to say, we had many tired, hungry kiddos that night, but we had snacks every other night (that we of course did not need). Those are my main complaints, other than that this trip was a once in a life time experience and I would do it all over again. It was amazing to watch the kids learn, explore, and grow. As an adult I did the same. If you have the means to send your kid(s) on a trip with EF I would do it. It was an amazing trip and EF was there every step.

To say that this was the most terribly organized and most disappointing trip would be an understatement. From waiting for over three hours for a bus, to being stranded in the middle of the night, to being told that EF would provide breakfast and dinner, when in reality they only provided breakfast maybe three times, to having to be on a train or a plane in the middle of the night, this was awful. I’ll never take an EF trip again. I will also probably tell anyone I can to run far away from any trip from EF. They should be ashamed of charging people money for this.

We are sorry to hear you did not have a great trip, Aimee. This does not sound like the EF Tours standard for our tours. We will pass your feedback to our Traveler Support manager to review. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Overall a wonderful experience, and well-managed considering the challenges of traveling against the backdrop of a waxing and waning pandemic. Could have used time a bit more efficiently so kids did more each day rather than just quick drive-bys of sights.

Tour guide seemed to not be knowledgeable about London. She seemed better in Paris and Italy, where she is from, but not that great in London. Also, EF should have been prepared for the Queen’s jubilee. It was very disappointing to not be able to see the Buckingham Palace when we paid so much money. Knowing that this holiday would take place, EF should have prepared a visit for the palace the day before. It was disappointing for our tour guide to tell us that we arrived 1 hour early for our bus guided tour and that we are going to walk to Buckingham palace and then totally change her mind and walk us the opposite direction to some random unimportant places just to kill 1 hour of our time instead of visiting the palace. She should have looked up the schedule of the events of the jubilee so that she was more prepared. For lunch she told our group to eat but me and my daughter skipped lunch to walk around and to only find out that there was an air show. I mean Come on! The rest of the of tour group missed it because they were told to eat lunch. It’s once in a lifetime that we are there for the Queen’s Jubilee and EF tour wanted nothing to do with it. Terrible just terrible! EF was very cheap on the food. A week or two before the tour, they should give the students a chance to choose between 2 things, not be forced with whatever EF gets discounted. The Thai food on day 2 needs to go. It was tasteless! It didn’t make sense at all why we would eat Thai food in London in all of the restaurants there. Very poor choice. EF needs to provide all with radio/headphones so we can understand what the guide was saying during walking tour. She walked way too fast and we couldn’t hear anything she said. Also she didn’t wait for the stranglers in the back. Paris, the bus was terrible. No air, seats broken, it smelled, windows were blurry. The bus driver was horrible where he crashed into a pole where people on the bus had to yell at him that he keeps hitting the pole. EF went cheap again at the Vatican to only hiring 3 tour guides instead of 4 and made us join another disorganized EF group. We waiting an hour for them to get organized and then they were sending about 10 children without any adult chaperone from our group. Our tour leader, had to step in and say that is not going to happen. Just very disorganized situation. Cooking class was not a cooking class. We just made dough. Not impressed. If I had to do this tour again, I would not.
