Great experience
Our experience in Boca Chica and at the Fundación Profundo Verde was amazing. Our MVP of the trip was the Tour Director Bladi. He was knowledgeable, supportive, and had a great attitude. He really connected with the students and chaperones and made sure everyone had an amazing time! We really enjoyed working at Fundación Verde Profundo. Tasha and her staff were amazing. They were supportive, and constantly looking out for the safety of the students. They were patient, and the kids worked really hard. They got a LOT of satisfaction out of the work that they did, and learned so much! The main issue we had was that the packing list and expectations could have been made clearer. Rash guards, water shoes, and shorts were mandatory every single day all day, so I had been briefed on this I could have better prepared my students. Even I did not bring close toed water shoes because I had sandals that I thought would be fine. I also only brought 1 rash guard, and 1 pair of shorts that could go in the water. Many students were in the same boat. This tour needs a specific packing guide that outlines what you need, and that it is MANDATORY per the foundation, not just a suggestion. Our hotel was very close to the airport and foundation, which was great, but the hotel itself was lacking. I would still give this itinerary 5 stars, and would definitely consider doing it again now that I know the ins and outs of what to expect. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants an itinerary that is more than just basic sightseeing. On this tour you get to be a traveler, and not just another tourist.

Good overall. My only complaint is the many airplanes connections and the many hours waisted on each layover.

This trip was amazing for my 15-year-old daughter. She can not stop talking about all that she experienced and all the fun she had. She learned so much about the marine ecosystem, coastal restoration, and the culture of the DR. She felt safe and well-cared-for during the entire trip. This was an experience she will never forget.
My daughter went on this trip in December and had the best time! She came back and couldn’t stop talking about all the amazing times they had! They really loved the trip support staff from the DR, one they called “Republic Ray” It truly was a life changing experience!
My daughter said the tour guide was amazing and everyone at the non profit where they worked was extremely friendly. She learned a lot and had a great time - it was the perfect balance of education, work, and fun!
