Great trip.
Great chaperone. Expectations need to be established up front, however. Keep in mind that you may be combined with other schools and/or tours. We originally had a 15 person tour, great number. Then we were combined with another 21 or so people for the week in Japan, not good at all. Meals were rushed/timed, we'd arrive at locations and take a small tour, then have rushed individual exploration time. A disappointment. Japan itself is amazing, and our school chaperone was fantastic. Ultimately, this is a tour/company for kids, not families. Be advised.
Beware of Hotels.
Our trip to Japan was absolutely amazing!! EF tours was wonderful! The whole experience was seamless! And our tour director Sue-Ellen DiFilippi was the BEST!!!
What a great opportunity to provide a child!
Love this trip!!
Amazing experience for young adults to learn about and experience different cultures!!!
The schedule was fine but the travel arrangement to get to Japan were awful, 3 stops and bus condition in Japan was very less than other groups, Chaperones not doing their job of supervising the kids in busy areas. Notification of travel arrangement and hotel location last minute and if you didn't like it... too late to make any changes!
My son loved his experience. He loved the tour guides, restaurant and site selections. He made new friends that were also on the tour.
Really enjoyed this companies itinerary and attention to detail.
Excellent tour! Tour guide was very knowledgeable! Lots of excursions! One thing I wish it was more clear about dress code for religious sites visits. Kids did wear long pants and long sleeve shirts (it wasn’t a requirement).
Loved Japan
Awesome experience
Pros and Cons of Japan My son and I recently returned from a 9 day trip from Japan. The sights and experiences we saw were once in a lifetime but the trip was unnecessarily exhausting. It was 85-95 degrees and our tour guide was walking at such a fast pace that most of our group was unable to keep up. We were often left behind not knowing how far up the tour guide was or which direction he went. There was not time to take a picture, drink water, or tie your shoe. Walking so quickly in the Japan summer heat was miserable and often left us more exhausted than was necessary. While I liked seeing multiple sights a day the pace of the tour guide was honestly ridiculous. There was no reason to have to practically run to get to the sights and then stand around waiting for our experience start times. I understand that there is a fast pace in Japan and the people walk quickly but with a group of 30 people, walking around crowded streets, in high temps the pace was unattainable. The tour guide did not to seem to have any understanding that we were there on vacation and payed a lot of money just to be rushed from place to place with no regard for our group. While the sights were amazing I would not attend another EF tour. I have been told the tours are meant to be fast paced and to see a variety of things while there but this was taken to the next level.
Educational and informative. An overall positive experience.
He loved the whole experience in Japan and wants to go back soon
