This was great for my daughter because she chose to speak Spanish, but there were others who got to dictate for the group whether the guides spoke mostly in English.

The Trip That Raised the Bar Forever: Inside Our First Service Journey to Peru Our recent trip to Peru with the Grass Lake Schools Travel Club was nothing short of extraordinary. This marked our very first service-focused travel experience, and it completely redefined what student travel can and should be. From the moment we arrived, every detail was handled with a level of care and professionalism that felt truly first class. But what made this trip stand apart was not just the seamless organization or the breathtaking destinations, it was the purpose behind it all. Our students didn’t just visit Peru, they connected with it. Through meaningful service work, they collaborated, problem-solved, and gave back in ways that left a lasting impact not only on the communities we visited, but on themselves as well. A huge part of this unforgettable experience was our incredible tour director, Kike. Simply put, he was one of the best, if not *the* best, tour director we have ever had. Kike brought an unmatched energy, deep cultural knowledge, and genuine care for our group that elevated every moment. He had a gift for turning even the smallest interactions into meaningful learning experiences, while ensuring everything ran smoothly and safely behind the scenes. Our students trusted him, learned from him, and will remember him for years to come. This trip struck the perfect balance between adventure, education, and service. Whether we were exploring ancient history, navigating vibrant markets, or working side by side on service projects, every day pushed our students to grow in confidence, empathy, and global awareness. If you are a parent or educator considering a travel experience for your students, this is it. This is the kind of trip that changes perspectives, builds character, and creates stories that students carry with them long after they return home. We didn’t just take a trip to Peru, we experienced it, we contributed to it, and we came back better because of it.
Compromised Hotel stay with limited food options for vegetarians.
Excellent project! The kids were engaged and excited to serve. The Spanish teacher made learning fun and exciting and it made me feel more comfortable with the language as well, and I have little to no Spanish speaking experience.
My child loved, every minute of the tour!! They specially liked their tour guides and and were able to make new connections.
