Exciting trip with great cultural and culinary experiences!!
Would not allow my child to go on this trip if I had known she would be sharing a bed and not just a room for the majority of the trip. Unacceptable to have them share a bed!
Overall this was a great trip.
The good: tour guide in Korea was very good The bad: Tour guide in Japan was not very nice or accommodating. Far too much travel - no reason to sit on buses for hours to go visit a place for a very short time. Just pick a different excursion. Far too many temples. While experiencing cultural destinations is nice, these are teenagers and they should have many more activities that would match their interests, including more free time. The itinerary did not make much sense in the order it was as some of the most important (yet far away) attractions were on the last day. We would not participate in another EF Tour for the cost, and reality that these trips are not well targeted for the people participating in them. Overall, trip was enjoyable, but would have been very easy to make it so much better.
It was a trip of a lifetime and my first experience in Eastern Asia
I encourage everyone to take this trip! We learned so much about South Korea in Japan. The culture and personalities in each country were amazing. Our students came away with a deeper sense of worldwide connection. EF Tours, I can’t say enough good things about them. They were very helpful and educational and allowed me to step into a group leader role feeling very confident and prepared.
We came back exhausted because this trip had it all!! Castles, temples, historical cemeteries, malls, amazing food, great hotels, bowing dear, hands-on activities and lots of shopping! From the moment you arrive, the tour begins. I didn't realize that EF would do so much "education" on the bus--teaching and preparing us for the next stops. I also didn't realize that EF had VIP entrance--a couple of places had LONG lines that we got to skip and had immediate access to. I would HIGHLY recommend this trip!! The only hesitation that I had was with the luggage before we left. There was a lot of debate if we got to have a checked bag or not. Luckily, in the end we did!
It was well organized and executed by the teachers of Rancho Middle School.

Our older daughter went on a trip to Europe with EF. Our youngest just returned from a trip to South Korea and Japan. Both trips were absolutely incredible experiences. So thankful for the opportunity.

Great and amazing trip
EF did the most amazing job of giving my daughter the trip of a lifetime! She loved everything about it, the experiences and the food, hotels, guides and loved both countries.

Inefficient scheduling meant loads of travel time on buses, trains, and planes. We had one excellent guide and one terrible one. I felt disappointed in the experience after how much money we spent.
