Great job from design to installation of shower room

Great job by Hollie redesigning our small bathroom into a roomy shower room. The execution was to high standards and Matt and Kacper were always correct and professional. Like in any large renovation project, there were a few bumps along the road, but they were addressed in a prompt manner by Katie, the project manager. The materials and finish seem good quality, but only time will tell.

Bathroom/En-suite Refurbishments

Having recently had three wet rooms refurbished by Ekco I have to confirm the standard of workmanship lead by Matt has been of an extremely high standard. He and Katy took onboard every issue and ensured they were followed up and resolved. Ekco are not the cheapest but for that you expect the quality which was delivered. I would love to have given a full five stars but the final parts of the project did drag on due to a couple of hiccups but a lot of that is due I think to supply issues.
Overall very happy with end product, I have just delayed sending the review to just live with what we have had done and not rush to a premature conclusion.

This is a company that does not take responsibility when things go wrong.

At the beginning of August 2022 we engaged the services of Ekco, Livingston on a design and supply only basis for our bathroom. We used Ekco primarily for convenience not price, we were willing to pay extra to prevent delays, problems and ensure compliance; we believed Ekco to be professional and highly regarded due to their business presence and awards. Our initial interaction and contact had all the signs of what we believed were a company we could trust and rely on. We were so wrong!

I cannot fault the initial experience of the design process this was done well and the person we dealt with seemed experienced. However we experienced issues with the design after it was installed and after paying for the items upfront had no recourse when delays and problems started.

One of the major issues was that there was no oversight of our order or the delivery. We were initially informed we would have all items within 4-6 wks. It took over 10 wks! On doing our own research we established we could have easily ordered some of the items online and had them delivered either next day or within 2-3 days.

We found many of the items were missing or had not been ordered after delivery. No one managed our order. These delays were blamed on the suppliers, COVID or not justified at all. No responsibility for these errors was ever accepted by Ekco. We were being misled. It caused us great stress and affected us financially as we had to postpone various trades we had sourced independently of Ekco to do the refurbishment. This happened on at least three occasions. We had no recourse. This lack of oversight resulted in us having to call Ekco and chase up orders something we enlisted Ekco to do, we engaged with them for convenience and this was anything but convenient.

The response from Ekco when we called to question the delays, missed items or to complain of the problems we were experiencing was not as I expected. There was a total lack of awareness or care especially from the manager who was unhelpful, argumentative and lacked experience. During one call the manager spoke over us and threatened to end the call when it got difficult, instead of listening or trying to understand this person wanted to be heard and control the narrative. The many emails and conversations we have had in response to our questions and complaints take zero accountability for Ekco’s lack of oversight and incompetence to deliver the service they advertise.

We have received many verbal apologies from staff other than the manager but nothing got better and further mistakes were made. We are still waiting on an appointment to speak with the manager in person whose diary was full. We were informed someone would be in touch to arrange it when there was availability. I believe this response to be a true reflection of the lack of importance the manager placed on our deeply frustrating and disappointing experience with valid and relevant complaints.

By early November 2022 our bathroom was still not finished. Due to the design of the bathroom a bespoke glass enclosure was required and had been agreed with one of Ekco’s suppliers. On completion of the shower area the supplier pulled out stating they could no longer supply the glass due to the angles (which were as per Ekco design) and because we had fitted mosaics instead of a tile where the glass was going to be fitted. To rectify the problem Ekco found another supplier (this took a further three wks) however it was going to cost double. They could not provide an alternative and would not pay for the inconvenience themselves. After our horrendous experience with the company so far the delays and poor customer service response we chose to have the money for the glass refunded rather than risk further delay, stress or worse.

Had it been one staff member we were dealing with we may have obtained a better experience from another however we spoke with at least three staff members in different positions over many weeks. We had no other options available to us and informed by the manger that they were the most senior person there, which was extremely worrying.

It is our opinion following our experience that the manager who appears to have overall responsibility lacked the moral integrity, qualities and professionalism any member of the public would expect when engaging in a service while others were incompetent and lacked experience and training when faced with problems and resolution. Overall this is a company that does not take responsibility when things go wrong.

Our bathroom is still incomplete. We are left with the problem of sourcing the glass for a design that appears problematic and expensive to resolve.

Great French Windows

After a number of visits spread over 18 months I finally ordered a pair of french windows for my garden office. They are in Anthracite and are of high quality. They were fitted this week and they look great. The fitter turned up on time, got on with the job, very professional. I look forward to many happy days sitting in my garden room look out through the new windows.

EKCO. Spitfire Door

Brian and his team have done an excellent job of installing the spitfire door. They were very quick, despite the fact it was snowing today. They have kept me inform about the aftercare of the door. Moreover Brian and his team have kept the place very tidy. Will definitely be using EKCO for future projects, like the bathroom and kitchen

Excellent Customer Service

Quite a few years after we had our bifolding doors installed by Ecko we developed an issue with the locking mechanism. Even though it was years later, after contacting Ecko for advice they promptly replied and helped resolve the issue in collaboration with the manufacturer. Excellent aftersales customer service

We decided to use Ecko for an En-suite…

We decided to use Ecko for an En-suite installation along which has just been completed. The team from start to finish were great and very professional. Hollie’s design was perfect and the installation team were hard working and low maintenance and cleaned up every day. We are very happy with the end result.
We have ordered a new kitchen with them for the new year and cannot wait now that we know how good the team are. The Uphall showroom is great and they are a quality company to deal with , they are not the cheapest but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

Pleasure from start to finish

Organising building work is never fun, but thanks to Ekco and especially Michelle the purchase and installation of some big patio doors was a pleasure. Michelle collaborated patiently with me, with good humour, for 6 months while I decided what I wanted, made modifications and planned their installation. The doors are excellent quality, arrived as planned at the ideal time for my builders and Ekco’s installation team did a great job on delivery day. I’d be more than happy to use Ekco again and am very pleased with my new doors. Huge thumbs up from me.

Unimpressed

Contacted Ecko after several calls (7 to head office) Really liked the sound of Ekco after being recommended by a golf course where they fitted windows sliding doors etc
My God - told them I would need 14 windows and in future two bathrooms and kitchen -it is like they are either too busy or cant be bothered not sure which
Anyway finally got a quote for windows(not what I asked for -asked upvc got quote for aluminium) asked via email to re-quote then next 6 weeks spoke to office who promised (12 calls) to have owner or rep contact me - nothing nada zilch
Have given up and currently have windows about to be installed and getting quotes for bathrooms and kitchen from companies that get back to me
How can comapnies such as Ekco completely blank jobs at 20-40k -? mind boggles

Delighted with my Bi-Fold door purchase and aftercareasy and

The Ekco team has made the process very easy for me to purchase my Bi-Fold doors. The installation team were great, there were no issues, which is a rare find and when i queried a later performance of the door, their team attended without issue and rectified the minor issue. New bathrooms

I have now had 2 new bathrooms installed by Neil and Neil. I didnt think the old bathrooms were too bad but the difference is amazing and I love it every time I go in. The work is to a very high standard and everything is to my satisfaction.

Stunning en-suite

He loved Hollie’s design for our en-suite and we were delighted with the work carried out by Jason and Chris.

Love my new bathroom

I recently had a new bathroom fitted. Was very happy with Hollie's design. Archie was there from beginning to the end of project and had Electrician and plasterer lined up to come on the days needed so no wasted time.
