Absolutely horrible company
Absolutely horrible company. I had a Fidelity Visa that they backed that had a rewards program where 2% of my eligible purchases would be deposited into my Fidelity account. I thought it was a great way to build my credit and my IRA after an awful divorce. I paid my credit card on time, more than the minimum payment, and finally after 4 months of the account being open, I paid it in full. They then closed my account stating that they believed the account was being or would be used fraudulently. When I contacted them, they stated that while they couldn't discuss specific transactions, they did a soft pull of my credit history and determined that I was a bad credit risk and closed the account. I was not allowed to dispute the allegations, and when I requested to speak with a supervisor to file a complaint, I wasnput on hold for about 10 minutes, then told that there was a high call volume and it would take longer. I was given the opportunity to continue holding, but declined.
Would give a ZERO if I could
Would give a ZERO if I could. Do not use their services absolute awful at EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!
Horrible customer service resolving dispute…
Horrible customer service in resolving a credit card dispute that was legitamate caused by a glitch in the financial system, never had that much difficulty in resolving disputes with other banks.

These idiots blocked my card and the authentication department put me on hold for 3 hours first time then 2.5 hours the next time and after I gave up they just canceled my card for suspicion of fraud. Worst customer service I've ever gotten in my life
I experienced an unlawful bill of $5000 Elan refused to investigage on my behalf.
I experienced an unlawful bill of $5000, which was my limit at the time. The company refused to investigate no matter what kind of proof I offered that the charge was bogus. After several months and the police and my bank reps intervening, someone said, whoops, that company that posted your bill also posted to other challenged/bogus bills. And this was their supposed security department responses. I tried to cancel my card, received a notice one month, and 6 months later received another bill (which was accurate), as I had forgotten to change credit cards with that automatic payment. I told them most companies tell the biller someone no longer has an account with them. Not Elen. It took me another 3-4 months to receive yet another letter closing my account, this time with a statement that should anyone else bill my account, it will be open. To me closed means closed. What do you think? Folks who answer the phone seem competitent and friendly, but you can't talk with anyone in a specific department or in management. Buyer beware--and prepared for lots of frustration with this company.
On hold forever twice!
I wish i could upload a screen shot of how long I was on hold for someone from the fraud department to pickup the phone! I was on hold for a bit over 1.5 hrs wanting to report a fraud application under my name and no luck!! Thats ABSURD!!!
My husband disputed a scam charge on…
My husband disputed a scam charge on his card. He called three times and every time was promised a credit on the transaction. The credit never occurred. The agents kept lying to him and the last one offered him an additional credit for his issues. Another lie. This is criminal.
Elan Financial Services is Fidelity's…
Elan Financial Services is Fidelity's Credit Card support. Elan is just a horrible company when it comes to customer service and telephone support. NEVER USE A FIDELITY CREDIT CARD! They pass you around endlessly to somebody new, and no one can help you, and they lie and hang up on you! I wish I could give them a rating OF ZERO.
Save yourself
Opened a balance transfer credit card and transferred my cc debt thinking it's fidelity but it's not, they immediately dropped my available credit by 30%, from what I see and read shady business is all they do, it's a shame fidelity associate themselves with this company
Try harder
Had an issue with a purchase made at Home Depot. Bought top-of-the-line replacement closet doors which were delivered with a cheap, mismatched track and channel instead of the ones that were supposed to come with it. The channel was so cheap it warped during installation. The installer said to call Home Depot and they would make it right. They attempted to charge me $260 extra for the correct materials and a fee to reinstall them. They finally walked back that outrageous stance but proceeded to ghost me after admitting their mistake. Tried to get the $260 value of the materials back (doors were about $900, original install $300) from Fidelity Visa backed by Elan. Filed an online claim under the customary 90-day window with detailed documentation, then talked to two excellent Elan representatives to validate and provide additional details and then mailed in a hard copy again explaining the situation, again with details of the purchase. Elan denied the claim soon after that, stating I would need to return the doors to the point of purchase. Now it's after the return window at Home Depot and it would be extremely impractical to remove and return these in person even if it weren't. Obviously, the evaluator assigned to this case failed to understand this and why I was relying on Elan to go after a huge company that doesn't seem to care about their customers. The person I talked to for an explanation of the decision was curt and not very courteous. Cancelled the card after many years of great service. Will get a new card elsewhere and transfer a substantial investment account from Fidelity to someone else.
Élan financial service
This is the worst credit card company I have ever dealt with or even heard of. I paid my card bill on time but for two months I only paid 50% of the total amount each time. Twice my employee went to refuel the car, and the card was declined. I called them, and they told me they had canceled my card without any prior notice—because, according to them, I hadn't paid the full balance. Can you believe it? This caused me a massive headache. I do not recommend them to anyone.
Terrible protocol, terrible service
Asked if they could change my name presentation on my card (not a legal name change, just initialing my first name). A rep said ok, and submitted a request on my behalf. Received call asking me to call back because "more information needed". I called. They wanted paperwork proving the name change. No other credit card company required that from me, and no bills other than credit card bills would suffice. I asked them to cancel the request. They said ok. Next thing I know I can't log in. Cust Serv said my card was in "closure status" with a "restriction" and to call "Authentication Dept". On hold twice for more than 1/2 hr each time. Finally got someone who said my acct was "under review" and I'd receive a call in 48 hours. Huh? I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said my card was closed because I didn't respond with "documents". That they sent a letter, but the letter wasn't accessible since I was out of town extensively due to a family member death. Why didn't they just keep everything the same, and if no documents received after 30 or 60 or 90 days, just cancel the name change request and send a letter accordingly, without closing my card for no reason and messing with my life due to failed card transactions causing penalties, late fees, interest charges, and more damage?!? I would never touch this company again for any reason with a 1,000 foot pole!
Horrendous fraud department
I’ve only had the card for 3 days. My card has been put up for fraud so many times they can’t even verify me. I have yet to leave a single store with anything. The fraud department quite literally doesn’t believe it’s me. Mind you… they have all of my information!
credit cards through Elan financial…
credit cards through Elan financial services beware of incentive charging schemes offering 0% on large purchases or balance transfers. Regular purchases even if you make high payments hardly get any of the payments applied until you pay off the credit card incentive offering first. when you do you will see interest charges for a month or two. to get around this I keep an overpayment of at least 500 on the card the bank uses and pay in full by the due date what i can figure is do to leave a credit balance at all times. their on line statements make it difficult to see how you payments are being applied along with no way to see a running balance until statements come out. Never have I been so frustrated with a card or their customer service. they keep referring to the agreement signed. Complaint to bank get referred back to credit card.
As with all the other one-star…
As with all the other one-star reviewers, this company uses unconscionable business practices and provides terrible service. We cannot find the full account number anywhere on their website, despite following the steps as listed in their FAQ. If you don’t have the full account number, you will be shuffled from person to person who all ask for the full account number. This company should be ashamed.
