I wish I had read these reviews first

I wish I had read these reviews first. I bought a $13K light commercial generator from these people in December 2019. It arrived in 2 weeks on a pallet with no crate, just shrink wrap around it and of course there was paint damage.I could not believe anyone would send a piece of commercial freight with no protection!!Further inspection after I pulled off the shrink wrap showed the frame rails were bent also, plus somewhere along the way someone put the forks of a forklift through the internals of the generator down low, bending the motor mount!! I put in a damage claim to EGD and they send off a new generator which I receive in another 2 weeks. I go to Old Dominion Freight, ask them to lift up the 2nd generator on the forklift before we even load it, and damn if there isn't the same damage and even more underneath the unit, an engine hose was broken off, the engine mount was smacked all up with fork strikes. After I reported the second generator being damaged, they informed me BY EMAIL that they will not send a third one, they will just refund my money. Can you imagine a company that can't deliver a product undamaged? They absolutely will not talk with you on the phone if they don't have to, choosing only emails to eliminate almost all personal contact after the sale. They even use "support team" at the bottom of their emails instead of personal names when contacting you. They will however talk on the phone all day before they take your $$$$. That contact ends after the sale. This without a doubt was the absolute WORST equipment transaction I've ever had the misfortune to be involved in in 45 years of being in business. So it's not just consumer clients getting this treatment. They treat business clients as bad as homeowners. Never, ever again for us! Avoid these people at all costs!

I paid $200

I paid $200, for next day ship and it came three days. They blamed ups and I have a statement from ups they received the shipment late. They are rude and flat out lied and pass the blame. Will dispute with my credit card.

Absolute robbers

Absolute robbers, my partner rang them from his mobile to get some advice on generators, was not advised it was a premium charge phone call, no wonder the guy on the phone kept the convo going so long, well they can shove their generators we won't be buying from them ever.

Beware hidden fee!

I live in Nassau County, NY (Long Island) and was charged a $50 “remote delivery fee.” When I questioned the charge and asked to be credited $50, I was told the delivery driver would need to pay a toll over a bridge. Are you kidding me? Why not charge $50 shipping and be honest with this misleading charge.....kinda shady if you ask me.

Customer Service is Nonexistent

We bought a generator from them last year, and it sat in our shop for about a month as the job we were using it on wasn't scheduled until then. When we went to use it we found that all of the parts it had come with (including the cold weather start kit) were for a totally different generator. They would not work with this one. We immediately tried to get in touch with the salesman we had bought it from but he was completely unresponsive. We tried calling customer service, also to no avail. Finally we got in touch with Cummins directly and purchased the correct parts from them. We then went back to Electric Generators Direct to return the incorrect parts but because the job had stretched on so long (due to confusion from incorrect parts being sent) it was far past their return time of 30 days. Mind you, we hadn't even been made aware of what parts were sent within 30 days. We went back and forth with them by email and on the phone but they refused to rectify the situation. Our hands were tied on the timing, and there was nothing we could have done. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with this company (never an issue before this order) and were in a position to give them a lot of business in the future. When you have customers, you should take care of them. You make exceptions to policies when it makes sense to, such as extending the return time when it's due to your own screw-up. They did nothing of the sort. They refused to take back $600 worth of parts THAT THEY SELL and in so doing have lost a very good, long-time customer.

Thank you Electric Generators Direct

Absolutely brilliant experience with this company. Ordered a Senci 2000i 2KW generator at a bargain £499. This was at least £15 cheaper than any other retailer, and the item was delivered within 24 hrs free of charge. Cannot fault this company at all !

Avoid this company if you can!!

I purchased a generator from this company and it arrived in a severely damaged condition. I contacted Electric Generators direct and asked them for a replacement or my money back. They first stated that they would take care of me and then came back with an offer to credit me $150 for a generator with "cosmetic" damage. The damage was to the muffler assembly and the manufacturer's tech support advised me against operating the generator with a damaged muffler assembly. Only after I informed them of me seeking legal counsel and the advise of my social network, did they finally take the generator back from me. The end result, I was without a generator for over 2 months and it caused me a lot of inconvenience. This was mostly definitely, my worst online shopping experience. I would advise against doing any business with this online reseller.
