Misleading

Like most customers have already reported, the ol' bait and switch. Ordered a remote from their website for an old receiver which included the pic of my exact remote and the model of my remote. Nowhere on the page do they say anything about being a compatible remote, yet the remote I received was NOT as listed. Completely different model. I will say though, thus far, it seems to be compatible with my remote I'm replacing. But the issue still stands, completely misleading the customer with not listing what they are buying. I could have bought this remote elsewhere for half price when you also include the shipping costs (where I could have ordered this remote through someone else with free shipping).

wrong product

If they are out of stock of a remote they will send a different one without contacting you first. Better off buying somewhere else.

Beware Scammer Alert

Beware! This company previously called Electronic Adventures and now New Remotes, Inc is a scam. You can't contact them if there's an issue with an order, like not receiving it. Emailing gets you an auto reply that doesn't address your issue. Calling gets you screamed at and hung up on.

I do NOT recommend Electronic Adventure

I ordered a replacement remote for my RCA TV/DVD Combo. Electronic Adventure sent the same remote I received from Dan's Electronics. I inserted brand new batteries into both remotes, however, neither worked on my RCA TV or it's built-in DVD.

Dan's Electronic sent a prepaid return shipping label and refunded the purchase price as well as the original shipping.

Electronic Adventure insisted their remotes work and refused to send a prepaid shipping label or refund the original shipping charges.

At least Dan's Electronics backs their products and provides much better customer service. I do NOT recommend anyone make purchases from Electronic Adventure.

Bait & Switch

As many others have stated, this outfit is in the bait and switch business. The remote I ordered is not the remote shipped. Their response or excuse is that the remote ordered is obsolete and no longer available so they send something else. Now it might be ok if they said that on their web site but there is no mention on their web site or ordering procedure to indicate that. To all appearances one thinks they will receive what they ordered.

In addition, their prices for the remotes and shipping is considerable higher that their competition. And I don't know what they use for shipping but it takes forever.

Beware! Bait and Switch!

This company is a "bait and switch" expert! When you order an original manufacturer remote, which they list on their website as "in stock," they will send you a cheap, generic remote that may or may not work. Their website says "hassle free returns," this is a blatant lie. Please read BBB complaints to see how their "hassle free returns" work out.

Terrible experience with their remote…

Terrible experience with their remote controls. I ordered NS-RC07a-11 for my Insignia TV\video and they sent me a Sharp remote control. When I told them the Sharp did not work they told me the remote is guaranteed to work. After a few emails back and forth the issue was they sent the wrong order - remote control. Then they sent me a second remote that was suppose to work with my TV/Video unit and that did not work. I sent back the two remote controls and they are not crediting me the full amount (product and shipping). They said shipping and handling is not part of the refund. If they had sent the product that is still advertised on their website to begin with instead of two other duds then maybe this would have been a different story. End up buying a remote from Dan's Electronic which was the exact replacement for my unit. Not one advertised on the website and then sent two other non compatible remotes like Electronic Adventure. My purchase with them was an adventure. I am an actual purchaser from both companies and this has been my experience.

Scammers - bad bad business practice!!

Do not use!! I ordered off their site a Panasonic remote that matched the same number as mine for $25 and a week later I get a Panasonic remote that is not even close - missing most buttons including the Internet option. NOT EVEN CLOSE!

I emailed them and all they say "you should have received some paperwork in the package explaining that the manufacturer discontinued the item". Then I called and explained, but once she pulled my order began with "the manufacturer..."

I said "WAIT A MINUTE, your website has the remote listed, has the correct picture, and no where does it say it's not available, not the same, etc"... so "why would your package person NOT look at your website image/remote number and email me to say that "It's not available", but rather chooses to send a dud?"

How is this good business??? It's as if you order pizza and you get mash potatoes with a paper saying "not enough dough, so we went with potatoes instead." Take it!

Then she started screaming at me, saying that I scream at her. Then she wished me a good day and hung up.

Not a call to inform me of availability, not an email...NOTHING!! Just bad business! ZERO STARS

BAIT&SWITCH!!! Do not do business with these liars!

note that electronicadventure.com auto-fwds to electronicadventure.us ... I was really excited when they claimed to have the extremely specific Sony remote model number I needed that only works with my specific combination of Sony DVD & Bravia products. I immediately ordered the remote, paying all the lame shipping&handling fees AND THEY SENT ME THE WRONG REMOTE. They asked me to try the remote they sent, which shocker i know, did not work... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU NEED A SPECIFIC MODEL NUMBER REMOTE THAT IS NO LONGER MADE BY THE ODM, THEY DO NOT HAVE THE ODM REMOTE MODEL NUMBERS THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FOR SALE!!! Just buy your remote from Sony if you need a replacement and if Sony does not sell it because it's no longer made you're, like me, S.O.L.

UPDATE of "Didn't get what I ordered either" review ...

UPDATE "Didn't get what I ordered either" review ...

Two weeks after EA / NRI (a Charlie Waters "company") instructed me to return the wrong remote they sent me by writing "REFUSED / RTS" on the package, thereby using the USPS to cover the cost of shipping it back to them, I had NOT seen a refund on my credit card. So, I emailed them on Jan 9th and amazingly they issued a refund on Jan 10th. The refund included my original shipping fees they charged!

The good part of the transaction is that it didn't cost be anything by time. The bad part (for them) is that I will never do business with EA or NRI or any future operation associated with CHARLIE WATERS - if, if, if I can find out he's involved. Maybe he'll hide his name and continue to run scam shops - who knows.

Check them out at the BBB, too. EA / NRI has developed a long list of customers, some of which have been truly victimized by EA / NRI's chosen business practices.

Skip this Scam if you're smart

Skip this vendor, they are a scam. They show remotes on their website that are actually not made anymore and accept your order (with a high shipping fee - but what are you going to do if you really need it?). However, what you receive is a dummy/toy remote (with no temperature options, just on and off) that doesn't even turn on. When you return it, they say they never got it. (I had anticipated this and used USPD signature required). After they had to admit they received it, they still will not reimburse my shipping costs. Read the BBB cases on them and reviews on other sites. Why this is legal, I don't understand. Awful people, awful business. Their families should be real proud. They also go by the name of New Remotes.

Avoid this sad excuse of a business.

I ordered a very specific discontinued remote from them because they had a photo of the exact thing I wanted. Instead, they shipped me some worthless piece of junk that wasn't even remotely close to what I'd ordered. Now I'm stuck wasting $16 on shipping ($8 each way) because they just didn't seem to think I'd notice or that it mattered. Moreover, it took a week and a half to arrive, which is absurd because $8 would've more than covered the cost of a USPS 2-Day Priority Mail padded envelope, which are free from USPS for the asking. (i.e., They made a buck on the shipping, too.)

Avoid this sad excuse of a business.

Electronic Adventure? The review remains until you resolve the problem and do so ASAP.

A Nice Surprise

It is such a nice surprise to order a product and have it perform exactly as described. No programming necessary. Thanks!
