Exceptional customer service all around!"

I encountered an issue with my heater, so I reached out to the manufacturer for assistance. They promptly connected me with Electrorad who diagnosed the problem accurately and provided a detailed step-by-step guide to troubleshoot. When the initial solution didn't work, they quickly identified the issue as a faulty control panel and advised me to purchase a replacement. Ordering the new panel was hassle-free, as it arrived within 24 hours. The package included clear instructions for installation. Thanks to their efficient support, my heater is now back in working order. Exceptional customer service all around!"

I visited this Company & wasn’t disappointed.

I visited this company for the first time and found them to be very helpful. The staff were great and Chloe who dealt with me was excellent. I visited a second time to purchase and I am delighted with the storage heater I selected. They even knew an excellent electrician who fitted it etc. It was all a very pleasing experience and I can highly recommend them.

I bought 3 Aeroflow heaters at the end…

I bought 3 Aeroflow heaters at the end of December 2020 they haven’t had a lot of use. Today one of my heaters won’t heat up it can still measure the temperature in the room but won’t heat up. Not sure what’s going on and can’t seem to find a contact number to phone. I’m disappointed that I have had the heater for such a short time with limited use and it’s not working! Does anyone know who I contact about this?

Poor post sales customer service and support

I purchased an Electrorad Vanguard VA1500 Electric Radiator from a third-party supplier. To start the instructions did not match the actual operation of the heater. I called Electrodrad as they were the primary supplier to major U.K. electrical wholesale companies and to the third-party company, I bought the radiator from. I was able to get help from them to programme the heater drawing on the technical expertise from Electrorad. It would appear the instructions needed updating due to slight changes in the operation of the heater. I was grateful for the help to programme the heater. The real issues started when I tried to hang the heater on the wall. The plastic bracket snapped when I tried to attached the heater to the wall and when I tried to take the heater of the wall plugs came out. I had used hollow wall metal anchors for plasterboard. The brackets designed for the heater to hang on the wall are not fit for purpose and snapped. The design of the brackets is not ideal for plasterboard. I contacted Electrorad and what started off as good help turned sour when they replied. They had suggested I had not used the correct wall plugs for plater board and that they had sold a large number of heaters and never had an issue with the brackets. I explained before I even hung the heater on the wall of my concerns. Regardless of how many heaters they sold previously without issue as they claim. This was not the case for me. I did have problems. I found Electrorad from their reply to my email to be disrespectful and lacked the professionalism to provide post sales help I expected. Rather they just wanted to justify their products based on past sales. It goes without saying I am not happy and expect more than this when I purchase a product such as a radiatior. There was no need for them to be so defensive and rude. I praised the heater itself but I am highly critical of the wall brackets. This negative review is a fair reflection of my experience with Electrorad. Your email reply to me was unwarranted and this review now shares this with a wider audience and not just on Feefo as Electrorad like to advertise which is biased towards Electroad and does not present the whole story.

Reply to Electrorad
The brackets are not fit for purpose. Stop trying to justify this by referencing your Feefo reviews. Your Feefo reviews are meaningless to me. This is my experience of this heater and the brackets. Yes, I asked Electrorad or help and I watched the video. I also questioned if the brackets would work as they did not appear to want to clip the heater on. I was right and one of them snapped. Whilst I appreciate the help given to me at the time. The arrogance of Electrorad after from your emails to me and now from your reply here really shows you up for what you are. You clearly lack professionalism to keep trying to say I am wrong rather than stopping and listening to these issues I have faced. My review is about my experience from the help Electrorad provided. Which is accurate and a fair reflection of events.

The brackets supplied with our Vanguard radiators are manufactured specifically for that radiator and are suitable for all wall types. We supply fixings with the radiator - screws and wall plugs suitable for fixing to a solid wall. When fixing to a plasterboard wall, suitable plasterboard fixings must be selected and used.

What you wanted from us was to agree with you that the brackets are not suitable and this is absolutely not true. More than 30,000 Vanguard heaters are hanging on walls around the U.K on these very same brackets without issue. If they were not suitable, quite simply we would not use them, we would change the brackets if we found there was a problem with them. Because we didn't agree with you does not mean that we were rude.

We sent you a video showing our showroom with a Vanguard radiator on a plasterboard wall and also showed us removing it from the brackets and replacing it without any movement from the brackets and absolutely no breakage.

We use Feefo as our chosen review platform and all verified customers can leave a review there. All reviews, either positive or negative are welcomed.

I believe you purchased the radiator from Heatershop, maybe you would like to ask them if any other customers have had issues with Vanguard brackets? They sell many Vanguard heaters and have been selling them for a long time. They are not connected to Electrorad in any way and could give you an independent answer on whether there is a problem with the brackets.

Please review our video that shows how to fix the brackets to the wall and mount the radiator. It also shows how to remove the radiator from the brackets if required. This radiator is mounted to a plasterboard wall. The video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/m1eMhvroCsI

As you will see, the brackets are fixed firmly to the wall and the radiator can be mounted and removed without any damage to the wall or the brackets.

Beware of this company also trading as Electric Radiator Shop

Please note, as a disclaimer this review is a matter of personal opinion and should not be taken as factual. This is simply my account of the situation and how I felt. In my opinion you should be aware of this company, they also trade as Electrorad. I was wrong not to listen to my instincts when I noticed they have zero reviews for the Electric Radiator Shop trading name but was distracted by their good looking website and their false promises of a hassle free shopping experience. I went ahead and ordered three radiators totalling over £1115, they call them A1 Grade and pretend they're robust and manufactured in Germany. Someone called me the day after to ask if I was aware they all come with the same display for which I had no issue. At no time was I warned of the real problem with these radiators, that is that they are extremely heavy. They also omitted to point out that their so called delivery was just one driver who'll drop the radiators on a pallet and leave them on the kerb for you to sort out. I literally broke my back lifting these radiators up the stairs to my first floor flat with one other person. I strained so much that I was in pain and left tearful. I called them as soon as the driver had left to ask why I wasn't told these radiators were so heavy and the guy on the phone kept repeating that they were suitable for my tiny little flat with plasterboard walls. These radiators would literally rip the wall off and cause expensive damage, in my opinion they might be suitable for industrial use or for a large loft apartment with solid walls but they are certainly not fit for a small one bed flat with plasterboard walls, however they would not admit to it. I was then advised (after much arguing from Ian) that if I were to send them back I would have to take them down the stairs again and leave them on the original Pallet for their driver to collect in addition there would be a charge for this. I explained that I had just injured my back lifting them and that I was happy to pay more if they could just sort out the pick up. His answer was "Sorry but that's the service we offer, you can get your own courier" I had no choice but to pay for a van and two men to carry these monster radiators and take them back to Leeds. I was highly distressed and in pain and my weekend was ruined. I then called them on Monday and they passed me on again to Ian. He advised that the radiators had to be checked and that he'll call me back in a couple of hours. I explained that I was happy for him to send me alternative radiators that were much lighter and suitable for my plasterboard walls and that I had already booked an electrician to come fit them so I was in an urgent need for a replacement. Needless to say he never called back. At this stage I decided to send an email threatening to take my complain to the small claims court and only then did I receive an email explaining that he refused to exchange the radiators and that he'll refund the cost of the radiators but not the courier. I am now left with an injured back, a bill of over £260 for the courier and had to purchase new radiators in a rush from another company. This was truly an upsetting experience and a service that fell way below anything I have ever experienced. I would not recommend the radiators this company sells or their extremely inconvenient (one man kerbside delivery service). God forbid if you need to return anything to them you might have to pay a hefty price and maybe left with a broken back.

We don't hide the fact that www.electricradiatorshop.co.uk is a trading arm of Electrorad U.K. Ltd as you can see here taken from the website:

INFORMATION ABOUT US
1. Our Site is owned and operated by Electrorad, a limited company registered in England under company number 05823671.

The radiators you purchased were Aeroflow radiators from our clearance section which clearly explains that they will have minor defects or damages and are priced to reflect this. The Aeroflow radiators are very robust and are made in Germany. They come with a 30 year warranty on the heating elements, thermal switches, radiator body and all internal parts. The thermostat has a 2 year warranty.

The weight of each product is clearly shown on the website as you will see here:

https://www.electricradiatorshop.co.uk/electric-radiators/radiators-by-brand/aeroflow-radiators/aeroflow-af07-digital-electric-radiator-2500w.html

This model (AF07) is the heaviest in the range and is clearly shown to be 55kg, not ‘in excess of 100kg’ as you claim.

You ordered 3 products

AF01: Weight 17kg
AF10: Weight 36kg
AF07: Weight 55kg

The weights are clearly shown in the product information of each model.

Our delivery method is clearly explained here: https://www.electricradiatorshop.co.uk/delivery
as a palletised service to ground level only

The Aeroflow radiators are suitable for all domestic property types and can easily be mounted on plasterboard walls using the correctly rated plasterboard fixings for example ‘gripit fixings’ which can hold up to 113kg items to plasterboard walls: https://www.gripitfixings.co.uk/ Over the 17 years that we’ve been selling these heaters, many thousands have been fitted to plasterboard walls without issue.

As per the Consumer Regulations act 2015, we allow customers 14 days in which to decide if they would like to keep our products. Within this time the products can be returned without any reason or question. In line with these regulations, there was never any question of us refunding you for the radiators once we had received them back. Also as per the Consumer Regulations act 2015 we charge for the return transport cost if the product is not being returned because it is faulty. If you had used our transport as we suggested, the cost to you would have been £60 for our pallet service. You instead decided to use a same day courier service which is considerably more expensive.

Our cancellation policy is here: https://www.electricradiatorshop.co.uk/cancellation-policy
which states that consumers are responsible for the return transport cost.

Your reason for return was never based on the quality of the products, but your belief that they were too heavy for your walls.

We understand that you wanted to purchase again from us and receive one of our lighter ranges. We decided that we didn’t wish to enter into any further transactions with you based on our experience.

Your complaint really comes down to two points:

1. You were not happy with the delivery method
If you had read the delivery section of the website you would have known the delivery method in advance of deciding to purchase

2. You were not happy with the weight of the radiators
If you had read the product information on the website you would have known the exact product weights before deciding to purchase

The radiators you purchased were exactly what you ordered and could have been fitted without issue. The problems you have faced are due to you not reading the website information before purchase and your wrong assumption that they were too heavy for your walls. When you called having received the radiators, we did assure you that they were suitable for your property and your walls but you decided to not take our advice.

I notice electrorad had two stars on Trust Pilot!
They also say their customer service dept together with their technical dept will help customers!
On the coldest day of the year I contacted them to help me programme my digiline radiator. As a pensioner I found it difficult to understand. There answer was , go to the video, despite my constant need of help. Not the service offered by this company. I had to employ an electrician! I felt badly let down after buying their radiators, something I will never do again.

Do not buy Vanguard radiators

Do not buy Vanguard radiators.
If the electronic panel on the radiators stops working the radiator is useless as there is no replacement for that panel. Three out of six radiators we bought four years ago are now not working and have to be replaced completely. Electrorad are not interested and told us we needed to buy new radiators. We certainly won’t be buying anything from them again. Very poor product and customer service.

Don't buy these radiators

Great radiators - in principle. Heat effectively, look attractive, easy to use. And then - one by one - the electornics fail necessitating a £100 replacement unit (you can't just replace the electronic unit, you replace the whole end panel). We've replaced three - at our own cost because the warranty only lasts two years, and we've had them three. And now it seems we need to replace two more. Terrible, terrible product. Don't buy these. And I'd question the 5* reviews here - some people leaving glowing reviews for the first time. Hmmm.......

I am perplexed by the negative reviews

I am perplexed by the negative reviews. I have nothing but good to say about these radiators, so much so that I am about to buy them for my new flat.

I would suggest that if you are buying them for the first time, you research the company you are buying from rather than going for the cheapest online offer. The radiators are sold via distributors not direct from Electrorad, so, that's where customer service issues will stem from.

The actual technology is simple and really effective. The displays could be better (the older ones were), and the buttons on the older units are better than the microswitch buttons on the newer units, but on the whole they are a good solution, and cheaper to run than gas central heating. You can plug them into a 13amp socket, or a fixed spur, you can put them on wheels or on wall brackets. As a replacement for economy seven storage heaters they are brilliant and getting off of economy seven and running them all the time as base heat load actually costs less than trying to "charge them overnight", they are responsive/agile relative to the indoor conditions.

You need to judge the product separately from the person you bought it from, which seems to be mostly absent from the negative reviews. The product is good, and if you have solar installed all the better. The resellers on the other hand swing from horrendous sharks flogging volume, to independent specialists, who have to price higher but will stand by you in a pinch. It's a case of learning the difference, doing the research, and most importantly once you have the product RTFM!

Electrorad Vanguard radiators

We bought 6 Vanguard radiators in Sep 2018. The LCD controller on one of them started to flicker about 2 months ago and we were no longer ble to control the temperature. It stopped working completely about a month ago. Aparently its a sealed unit and if it breaks after the 2 year guarantee there is nothing that can be done other than to replace. Not sure why anyone would purchase such a radiator

Radiator OKish, App terrible, Customer service appalling

A radiator we were piloting with has been heating constantly for hours and wouldn't stop, despite the heating icon being off on the LCD panel.

Electrorad have kindly called and asked for another diagnosis test which didn't reproduce the problem, neither it disproved it, in my opinion (essentially turning on for 30 mins and off for another 30 mins).

They refused to perform further investigations.

The mobile app also has serious problems (check App Store reviews for AeroFlow) which they disregarded as "we use it every day and it works fine". But they have admitted that it's being developed by Germany (which is obvious, once you read the poor copy translation in the app) and that no one on that side ever looked the App Store reviews until now. I find that unacceptable, especially if it's true.

Much like HeaterShop, where I bought the radiator from, it takes some work to get them to email, as they prefer hours on the phone, which makes it hard to get records of what they do and say to hold them accountable. I personally believe that's deliberate, but we'll never know.

Very good service from Electrorad from order placed online. They phoned to check the order before despatching,

A good product although rather on the expensive side. Very easy to fit by any competent DIYer. Changing wiring connections from Storage Radiators to Electrorad heaters is easy for any electrically competent person. The controls are initially not easy to understand, neither is the programming. I found it hard to follow at first but once learned is quite simple. Not obvious though and not very intuitive. I know a few people in my village who have these radiators and I am frequently going around to their houses to programme or adjust their radiators as they can't cope with the instructions. I can't rate the efficiency of these units properly yet as we have had an unusually cold winter so can't compare effectively with previous years. However the constant temperature control is very effective. These heaters have transformed our bedrooms into very comfortable spaces.

Order online

Excellent products. A pity we had to order online to get a reasonable delivery charge.
When I tried to order by phone I was told that the delivery charge was fixed but worth it because the product would be delivered by approved transporter and it would be palette. Online delivery was also on a pallet and half the price.
Rating is for online purchase.

I like the radiators, but they are very expensive

I like the Electrorad radiators (I have 2) that I have installed in my older cottage, where I am unable to install central heating. I think they are more economical than the free standing oil filed radiators that I also have, that was the idea and why I bought them. I have mine wall mounted and connected to the mains electric. I would have liked to have bought more, but bought the first 2 about 5 years apart as they are quite pricey. So will save up for the next. They look smart and the control panel is a good feature meaning I can put them on timer or simply on all the time or just to go on when the temperature drops below a certain amount. So overall pleased with them, but they are very expensive.
