Lousy Communication - possibly a fraud company

I ordered a Samsung TV on 15/7/11, I wanted only that particular model - which was available ex stock at Elitegadgets.com. I had initially paid by personal card registered to my home address, but wanting the TV to be delivered to my office address as no one is at home during the day. The payment initially went through but 4 days later I got email saying that the card and delivery addresses were different hence the goods could not be dispatched. This was understandable so I used my company card registered at office address. Same again, payment initially went through but 4 days later I got email saying that the card and delivery addresses are different hence the goods could not be dispatched - this could not be possible as the registered and delivery addresses were the same for this card. However, both payments were refunded to the respective cards - thankfully.

I then placed the order by paying online via bank transfer on 27/7/11 at Craig Barker's advice, and though the payment should be in the receiving company's NANWEB bank account within a couple of hours, Craig kept on saying he has not received it. I checked with my bank Barclays and they issued a report that the fund's were in Nanweb's HSBC account on the same day.

In the meanwhile, as I wanted the TV by 30/7/11 at the latest, I kept on calling Craig and once managed to speak to him, he said that as he had not yet received the funds, he could not order the TV (the website said they had stock and he was going to order it!!!) until he had clear payment. So I told him to cancel the order and refund the payment back to the same account it was paid from, as the delivery - if and when made - will not reach me by my required date of 30/7/11 (that's why I had started the initial transaction well in advance on 15/7/11). He agreed to do the refund, of course once he 'located' my payment.

I therefore had to buy a similar size Samsung TV (different model) from Currys to make do in my presentation on 30/7/11.

On 2/8/11 I finally got an email reply from Craig that he has received my payment, and asked for my bank details to refund it, and said he will tell his accounts team to do it. I gave that immediately but received no refund for a week.

After several emails and calls, on 10/8/11 by email he apologised for the delay and said that the payment has been done on that day.

I have still not received that refund as at date of posting on this forum (12/9/11). All calls and emails after 10/8/11 have not been answered.

I have now filed a complaint with my local police station to investigate if the business is genuine because I fear my company bank details as well as the 2 credit card details I gave to this company could be misused in future. Then its for my lawyers to recover the debt with costs.

If Craig Barker is a genuine businessman, he should have paid my refund first before confirming he has done it, late as it may have been.

From the mixed comments I have seen on this thread, maybe he is not an out and out conman, but he should face the consequence of defaulting on his commitments.
Enough said, I think I will just let the authorities handle this from now on.

Tried to order an accessory pack for the Canon D10 camera

I tried to order on line, the automated procedure keeps saying my bank has declined payment, but I have checked with them and they haven't declined anything. As far as they are concerned its a valid transaction. I Tried phoning elitegadgest at least 10 times over a three day period, but no answer. I am now really suspicious and will make sure my bank does not honour the requests made by me for payment for this item if any requests are made

product not in stock

I'm generally happy with the service, however I have few points to note. The webpage stated the item to be in stock, but this was not the case and I had to wait for 3 weeks for the item to be delivered. Also, it took the customer service several days to reply to my e-mails. In the end I did get my item in a perfect condition and I'm happy about it.

Ignorant

Try contacting them, never answer, the sign of a scamming operation rather than a professional company.

BEWARE - professional scammer

I bought a camera two months ago and my money was taken immediately from the card but no camera was dispatched after three weeks. When chasing, I received a message about a faulty stock and the need to reflll the stock but when asking for updates over three weeks the communication was extremely poor or non existent.
Tried to reach this company by phone and it just rang forever and no one picks up so I asked for a full refund via the website.
I got a confirmation email of my refund and I kinda felt relieved BUT after more than four weeks still no money was paid back into in my account!
EG does not answer the phone neither returns my emails.
I have reported EG to my Bank and will report to the police since they stole 200 pounds!
PLEASE TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS "COMPANY" and please also share similar experiences in this forum so that there is more evidence and this criminal will hopefully be caught.
Be aware that this Craig operates under different company names and websites and has changed a few business names since 2007.
I seriously doubt than any of the positive reviews here are authentic.
If still in doubt check the avforums.com website and read how many people have been scammed. I am sorry I did not search the web before buying. Good lesson learnt.

SCAM COMPANY PART OF 0SOO.CO.UK

Elite Gadgets has same company number and vat number as osoo. I ordered an item from osoo.co.uk expecting next day delivery as the product was showing as in stock and the payment had been taken from my credit card. 5 days later and the item has still not arrived.

I have tried ringing but the phone just goes to answerphone and the company have not replied to my calls.

I have sent emails which have also gone unanswered.

My only course of action left is to initiate a dispute with my credit card company in order to obtain a refund.

Good service

I ordered a pair of 3D glasses for use with my Samsung TV as the company said they were in stock. They were also at a fair price in comparison to other sites and much better than in the High St. They arrived within a few days in good order and so my experience with this company has been good.

Camera sent to the wrong address!

Ordered a camera from the above website entering my full address in the usual place and yet I received an email saying the camera had been delivered to a flat 5 doors down my road! Not sure how they can get the address wrong after I typed it correctly into the form. Luckily the people at this flat were nice and held the parcel for me and I picked it up.
Box was also dented.

Camera however is good and works fine.

camera battery does not fit

I ordened a battery for a Nikon Coolpix 8400. It took several weeks and some e-mails before it arrived. The battery does not fit in the camera and the battery charger. I sent several e-mails to Elitegadgets but did not get any answer.

Just what I ordered.

I wanted two sony TX7's, got them both sent for one delivery cost. Brand new in un-opened boxes. At a cost that I could have paid for one, on some sites. very pleased. Surprised that there are negative postings. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would not hesitate to use again.

Supplied exactly what I needed

Had a specific item in mind
Found it in stock on the web site
Price competitive
Delivery in good time and good condition
Only one transaction but it worked for me - would short list the company for any future business
