Looks good until goes wrong

Looks good until goes wrong - fixed a heater issue shortly after tub leaked. Kept an eye on it for a few weeks but eventually called for them to return and check it - charged £96 for the visit told now pump leaking £500 to replace - never again.

ELITE, EXPERT EXPERIENCE.

This is a genuine review.

I have just had a heat pump fitted to my hot tub by Elite, Newton Abbott.
Ian was friendly and helpful
The pump was expertly fitted and I am now able to use my hot tub without it costing the earth.
I recommend Elite Spas & Hot Tubs.

Encore II hot tub

Good points-
The hot tub itself looks amazing. We purchased it at the Royal Cornwall Show; we paid £10k for the Encore II - identical to the display model. Before buying, we explained that we were having landscaping done so wouldn’t be ready to take delivery for months. The owner said that would be fine and they’d keep it in storage. They honoured their word and it was a year before delivery. Very pleasant to deal with all the way through. The hot tub states 10 year warranty for electrical and plumbing. My old hot tub had 5 years so I thought this was really good. Little did I know.
The hot tub was delivered about 6 months before it could be commissioned as we didn’t have electric running to it. Chris was brilliant and came back to commission it and show us how to maintain it. The sound system is great and blue tooth works beautifully, as do the jets.
Bad points-
1. Head rests pillows ( not fit for purpose)
From the very first use, we had issues with the pillows you rest your head on. Every time you leant back against them and tried to rest your head, they fell off. We spent most of our time in the tub constantly clipping them back in place; there are 3 flimsy plastic clips glued into to the back of each head rest. Eventually we told our friends not to lean on them, which defeats the object.
Despite this they would still come off if you if you accidentally leant back against them and three months later, three head rests were broken by three different friends on three separate occasions; you can imagine how mortified they were but really they hardly touched them. Now my friends are aged 43-50 years old and we are professional people. We were just sitting in it as you should. I’m not the type to complain but should have done so immediately because apparently the head rests only have 90 day warranties!!! This was not pointed out until I complained 6 months after it was up and running ( 3 months too late) Had we known about the 90 day warranty then we would have complained sooner and probably not bought the tub in the first place. Thankfully Chris did replace them as a gesture of goodwill and the new new have been absolutely fine.
With 7 head rests it’s going to get quite expensive. This is my third hot tub and I did not experience this problem with head rests previously. Indeed my last two tubs had no issues at all over two respective 5 year periods. I am told that all suppliers adopt this 90 day warranty. All of our friends and family have commented on this because the slightest contact with the headrest pillows and they fall off.
2. Try before you buy
This is my third hot tub over the years and I would say try before you buy. It is by far the most stunning model but it is, in our opinion, a bit too deep (I’m 5’8” and my husband 6’1”). Most people can’t stick sitting in it too long because the water is up to your chin in the corner seats which are the relaxing chairs. They end up sitting in the upright seats which is not relaxing. The lounger is pointless because it’s so deep you can’t use it without having your head under water. In any event you can’t physically keep your bottom in the lounger and just float out of it. My last hot tub had a lounger and I would spend hours reading my book and relaxing in it. Please do try hot tubs out as you don’t find these things out until afterwards and it is s lot of money to spend in a product the isn’t really fit for purpose.
3. The touch screen display pad
Unfortunately if you have two or more people in the water the water level is just a little too high to have the jets on because the bubbles splash on to the touch screen and it keeps turning the jets off which is annoying. I did not have this with the last hot tub either so not sure if the recommended water level is higher in this tub or not, but it seems to be an issue. You can lock the screen though.
