Run don't walk from this place!
I have been a customer of Desirees for several years. She is amazing and does expert precision cuts. I would give her 5 stars. However, I will NEVER return to the salon after today. When I asked Desiree about an ombré color for my daughter she said she didn't like color so much but Jenna was awesome and scheduled her. We had a discussion about my daughters hair and she went to work. Nearly 4 hours later my daughters hair was ruined. There was absolutely NO gradual ombré effect and her hair was over-processed, burned, damaged and YELLOW. Not knowing much about hair I approached Regan Dakin the owner who was busy curling her own hair to express my discontent and disappointment. She had absolutely no empathy despite the fact my daughter was near tears and told me she thought it was perfectly fine but offered to make it darker if I was unhappy. I wouldn't let anyone in that salon touch one hair on my head if my life depended on it. It wasn't until I was able to find a reputable salon and color correction specialist with over 30 years experience that evening to repair and look at my daughters hair was I beyond horrified. I showed her before and after pictures. I explained the process that was taken and here is what I found out: virgin hair should never have been placed under hear lamps, that is for hair color that won't lift. That is why it was beyond repair from all the peroxide left on too long completely stripping the cuticle and turning her hair to straw. Also the horrid yellow color was because she didn't bother to use any contrast. Jenna tried to cover up her amateur dye job by chopping up her hair, and then using texturizing scissors adding completely un- blended and mismatched layers, trying to create some sort of dimension that she failed miserably to achieve with the color. To cover up the bad haircut and choppy ends, she matted it down with oil. I said somethings not right...this doesn't look like a professional result-- it looks and feels gross and Jenna told me to just run more coconut oil on it to smooth it out all the dead ends she fried. It is the worst cut and color I have ever seen and I'm not sure Jenna Stellon should even be doing anyone's hair except maybe in a dog grooming salon. Even then I wouldn't bring my dog there. When I explained how it was nothing like what we expected she told me that to get the look in the sample photo you'd need 3 trips to the salon. You mention this after?!!I was so frustrated exasperated by the inability to provide any kind of customer service and sheer stupidity. I paid $130 and left. I am truly disappointed in my experience and while I understand mistakes happen, Regan, the salon owners la-dee-dah attitude was probably as unsettling as Jenna's lack of talent as a stylist. I have also lost all trust and respect for Desiree as she was the one who told me what an ombré expert Jenna was. SHE IS NOT A COLOR EXPERT by any means. It cost me over $400 to have a new cut and demi put on my daughters destroyed hair. Even then it's going to take months to grow it out and get it healthy. Jenna should be ashamed to call herself a hair stylist. If you want your hair to look like your name is Daisy Mae and you live in a double-wide at the trailer park, go here. Or take my advice and go to ANY of the other salons in Walnut Creek. You'd probably get better talent at SuperCuts next door. Definitely couldn't be worse than Elizabeth Nicole Salon. It's amateur hour over there. If you want to be made as ugly as possible, this could be your place.
