'Fresh' 'Woody' 'Masculine' Terms like these plague perfume boutiques everywhere. You've probably experienced the same I do every time I visit a perfume shop: everything gets reduced to three or four categories. What's disappointing is that from the tens or hundreds of fragrances on display, most actually fit nicely into one of these categories. So much so, that at some point you forgot which ones you tried because they smell so… alike. But perfumery is vast. How could you reduce the scent of frangipani drunk on frankincense to 'fresh' or the fusion of tuberose and oud to 'floral'? Who said blue lotus is masculine or feminine? Then again, how many perfumes contain such ingredients or in such unique combinations? Egyptian Musk a smells nothing like Iris Noir, which smells nothing like Iris Ghalia or Borneo Zen. If there’s one thread that runs through most of them it’s oud and precious florals. But then again…… don't forget how magically different ouds can be! So, although they certainly are… 'oudy' won't cut it either. This set lets you explore these attars at your leisure. Find your signature scent or simply cruise through these fragrant canyons to explore smells you haven't encountered before. Flowers you’ve never smelled, drenched in ouds you haven't heard of either. Scents that open the door to a new olfactory realm you'd easily get lost in – and happily so! .3gr Black Pearl .3gr Egyptian Musk .3gr Qahwa Blanca .3gr Pink Papua .3gr Monsieur Oud .3gr Blue Kalbar *For a limited time, each set will receive a free 1ml atomizer of Madagascar (Pure Parfum).

Reply from Ensar Oud

Hi Oways,

Thank you for sharing your impression.

We understand that the Attar Sampler Set was not what you personally expected. At the same time, expectation and quality are two very different things. A composition not matching what one had imagined does not, in itself, reflect a lack of quality i
n the product.

Ensar Oud attars are not created in the style of mainstream perfume. They are composed with natural oud oils, precious florals, resins, musks, and heirloom aromatics of a caliber rarely used in modern perfumery. We produce our own artisanal oud oils and carefully source select natural materials from around the world, many of which are far too rare, costly, or difficult to work with for conventional perfume houses.

Because of that, the experience can be very different from what someone may expect if they are used to synthetic, mass-market fragrance structures. Natural oud and traditional attars do not always reveal themselves immediately. They can be complex, dense, evolving, and unfamiliar at first, especially when encountered for the first time.

Personal taste will always vary, and you are of course entitled to your opinion. Not every composition will resonate with every person. But we do stand firmly behind the quality of the materials, the artistry of the compositions, and the care that goes into each attar we release.

We would encourage you to spend more time with the samples, apply them sparingly, and revisit them in different settings. Often, with natural aromatics of this depth, the journey begins only after the first impression.
