I could have called this Purple Yunnan or Sinensis Zen. The sheer repleteness of purple resin gushing from a core of rare Yunnanese sinensis easily makes this one of the most formidable ouds in the world. A signature vintage sinensis bitterness dipped in sinking-oud incense from the 70s – you just can’t get enough.  Dokusan quite literally combines two of the most legendary profiles in oud history – the bitter zest of bygone Chinese oud and purple kinam – and comes out with a scent unto its own, dripping thick purple kinamic opulence with a zesty old-Yunnan sparkle.  If there’s one bottle of oud that should be stowed away for posterity’s sake – but also shouldn’t – it’s this. Treat yourself. Wear it. Wear it all the time. Swipe your friends and then give yourself another swipe just because. Soak up the clouds bursting with dark purple and seek out that medicinal zen that teases you from behind the veil.
